  1. Thanks. Got a bit worried about the idea of bonded stearer for a bit there. Any idea of their weight and if the bit extra is noticable ?
  2. How reliable are these forks. Ive just read through search function they initially had problems with length and with bonded steerer failure but heard that they were addressing these problems. Please help as have just ordered a pair !!
  3. I apologise if this is allready on here but couldn't find. Are wanting to know how much bb rise an 06 monty 221pr frame has. Have a zhi zm1 frame almost finished being built up and wanting to compare.
  4. Use a threaded axle and bolt the freewheel remover to the crank with a nut either side. This locks the tool to the freewheel so no risk of rounding the edges. Then clamp the remover tool in the vice. Then get a pipe, cover the crank in a rag and slot the pipe over the crank and wrench it loose. When loosened remove axle as will stop it undoing. Is what we use in our shop. Works perfect every time with no damage to parts.
  5. Thanks to some great advice on another topic have been informed 170mm cranks work great on mods. Iv'e only used 158mm. Longer cranks - more leverage seems worthwhile. Curious what length everyone is using ?
  6. Could check that the bar is evenly round with verniers and that the stem face plate isn't deformed. Have seen some that have opened up a little from impacts and replacement has solved it. Also that no sharp edges around stem at contact areas. Unlikely but have seen happen before and like you hate creaks, could be worth checking ? Good luck with solving it
  7. Will do. Really liked the look of echo and zoo cranks but aren't they only 170mm in length ie only for 26" Whats the go with echo's external bb's. Are the echo isis cranks designed for this or normal isis bb's or both ?
  8. Cheers was wondering what length bb would be required. Any ideas what the measurement is for amount of thread on zoo / echo cranks ? If it works with them and they have same length threaded then guess should work with monty too.
  9. May just be that the weld where the steerer connects to the fork is messy inside and rubbing as the fork flexes. I gather the headset cups and crown race have a tight fit ? Have seen a couple of frames warranteed for this problem but rare. Perhaps lightly grease around fork where axle connects. Mavic skewers for example are known for creaking at that point. Can you make that creak without using brake ie push against wall ? That could help narrow it down.
  10. Are running square taper monty cranks at moment and had no problem, nor have my friends. We have limited stuff available here. Trials are fairly small scene here and are fairly loyal to monty importer but he isn't very clued up so wanting to know if this set up works or how much thread space is required for it to work safely ?
  11. Chances are it is just your headset. Strip it, clean and regrease including stem bolts at stearer and at bars. If still creaks chances are is a crack
  12. I'm wanting to get some monty isis cranks for my mod but are wanting to know if there is enough space to run a freewheel and echo bashring. Is any one out there running this set up ? How much thread space do you need to safely run this set up ? Any help would be great
  13. Are wanting to use a front disc brake. Thinking of avid juicy 7, shimano or hope. Whats the most powerfull ?
  14. Keep hearing about front taps but are newish to truials. Can someone explain ?
  15. sweet, trials isnt that big over here so some feedback on good products is all good. Any idea what length bb to run on isis cranks, will be for the zhi mod frame i have on the way but since its vary similar to a zoo python frame i figure safe bet it will be the same ? and what you recommend for crank length ?
