Onza Fly Guy

I am after some longer trials forks to go on a frame designed for 100mm travel suspension forks. I'm told that the Fly Guys are 430mm. Is this right? If you have some, can you measure them for me please?

If they are indeed this length, they will be perfect for my bike - although they may need painting black. :-

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't recommend the Fly Guy forks for trials, the steerer tube isn't up to the job (hence the new one-piece steerer design on the latest forks).

If you can find Pace RC32 Expert trials forks with V brake mount (NOT 4-bolt mounts - this is the stress riser Dave explained to you on the phone yesterday), then theyre pretty decent, and 435mm long. I'm not sure what shops will have them, but airevalleycycles may do :- Theyre around 1kg in weight, so a fair bit lighter than most of the long forks out there.

Cheers for that info. Those forks seem perfect. Typically airevalleycycles are closed on a Wednesday.....

Thanks. :P

Do you mean the 4 bolt mounts are a stress area when used with magura's or just the way they are made.

Because my ones with 4 bolt snapped in half and I only ever used a disc.

They are quite good forks as long as you dont do too many taps.

I got my ones direct from pace.

Just the way they are made. Such a stiff section (a sold 4 bolt mount) won't flex anywhere near as much as the leg itself, so diverts all stress to the top and/or bottom of the mount - and thats why your forks broke.

No worries Mike - try http://www.airevalleycycles.com as well :-

Nobody has the RC32s in stock (I phoned about 20 places) and Pace have stopped making them. I have bought a pair of On-One Steel forks. They are about 1100g and are 420mm long. They should do the job well although they are a little heavier than some others.

Thanks for you help guys. :S

Do you know if this is an issue at all with Echo Urbans?
