Side Hopping

Rite when you approch the wall make sure you are at a 45(ish) digree angle to the wall. Do a small hop to build some momentum then pull up as high as you can then place the front wheel on the wal and swing your rear wheel up on. And there you go you can side hop. I know it is not a good description but if you use the search you will probably find some other topics about this, they may be more helpful.

Approach the obstacle on about a 45 degree angle and make sure you have some space in front of you to skip-hop. Do a couple of skip-hops (however many you feel comfortable with). After this, crouch a bit to get spring, then lift your bike as high as you can and place the front wheel on the obstacle and use the front wheel as well as your momentum to lift the back wheel up. Once you have done this make sure you don't loose your balance and make sure you are firmly on the obstacle.
