How Do You Work Out Bb Size?

Is there any way you can measure a frame specifics and use a formula to work out the bb size? I dont need to find out a bb size for a frame but i was just wondering for future reference is there any way cos i dont think I know of any :S

Yes there is m8 and here is how you do it! measure the axle length by getting a vernier caliper and measure end to end, so basically theres your axle length and then on your old bb it should say your shell size on it aswell eg. 68! now you have these two measurments you can now choose what Bottom Bracket you need! :)

In the situation of not having the old bb to hand, the shell size is easy to come by, the bb axle length is mainly guesswork and experience. You can measure for it, but its not the easiest thing to do without some tools.
