  1. http://www.biketrialuk.co.uk/ Edit: Whilst we're on the subject of comps, does my motorbike trials licence cover biketrials?
  2. thanks all. When I think about it, it 's obvious what most people on here will say! Shall get myself off to a Halfrauds today hopefully
  3. I've just found some Giro E2's going pretty cheap on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GIRO-E2-CYCLE-HELMET...1QQcmdZViewItem but I've heard a lot of people on here recommend the Xen http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Giro-Xen-Matt-White-...1QQcmdZViewItem Is the Xen worth the extra tenner? thanks in advance
  4. Kingston...Quantity Surveying Consultancy
  5. I had that. I tensioned it up so it was nice, and then zip-tied it in position Works perfect now and the spring never goes slack
  6. That's good advice. I've also found different size tubes and tires make a difference. I ran a wide tire (2.5) with a 2.1 tube and needed about 26-27 psi in it. I then put a Maxxis 2.5 in and could run at 21 psi. For general use I've found 22 in back and 28 in front to be comfortable
  7. I'd say go medium, they are mega stretchy, but you can always shrink them a bit if they are too big
  8. I tried this for a while whilst I was waiting for my tensioner to come. I used a really old chain so it didn't stretch anymore, but it kept making that 'boing' noise It was ok though, as long as pre-loaded the cranks before EVERY move. Couldn't get a comfortable gear either, 19 made chain too tight, and 18 too slack.
  9. I'd still rather they just bung a better carb on there, or fully sort out the mikuni once and for all I'd still rather they just bung a better carb on there, or fully sort out the mikuni once and for all Straight from Italy eh?
  10. thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated
  11. what wheelbase would that give? roughly?
  12. Beta's never lacking on steering lock Personally I reckon Beta won't go for a new frame. It's taken over 6 years to perfect this one. I reckon that they'll junk the Mikuni and go EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) and make their current 2T run super clean
  13. I know it's about 1055 using ashton forks, but can this be increased a bit using any other different forks? Any recommendations?
  14. Only pics I have of mine are of me riding last weekend in the mud beta 250 and the other bike, my 'shocker. Honda TLR250 twinshock
  15. Great vid. Enjoyed that, and it looks like you enjoyed making it (well the riding bit anyway)
  16. Ah that's good then. Is it still Terry Graves who organises them?
  17. 200, they're the grippest bike ever built. I don't know where you're from so I dont know how the grading works round your area, but a 200 is ample for must clubman stuff I've ever seen. Try both, and try another 125. I've done alot of expert stuff on well set-up 125s. Edit: I've just re-read your post and I've seen where you're from. I'd still say get a 200...
  18. http://www.todotrial.com/videos/Trial-Lessons-Bici.wmv and the motorbike equivalent if anyone's interested (with Raga and Bethune) http://www.todotrial.com/videos/AprenderelTrial.wmv (taken from www.todotrial.com)
  19. Can I get away with singlespeed at club type trials? I want to try Hampshire and some South West club type events, but I need to know how they stand on this gears ruling? Also, whilst on this topic, do people who ride natural/comps ever use a different gear for different sections? Like go up a gear to get more height or something? thanks Dan
  20. Really good, really liked watching that. Top choice of music as well. Will there be any more like this coming this year?
  21. Solved the creaky cranks as well. It was the copper slip I cleaned it all off and reassembled as normal, but using some waterproof grease and it's perfect Thanks for all your help
  22. Sorry about that, didn't mean to copy you! OT: can names be changed?
  23. Will there be any pictures of this event? I'd like to see the type of sections you do and how long they are, as I really fancy a go at biketrials. Can I use my YMSA motorbike licence, or are you a separate organization?
  24. If anyone is still interested in riding at Hook Woods, there will be youth/ladies motorbike nationals there this weekend (17th/18th June). They aren't likely to be using the bigger stuff up there so should still be plenty to ride
