Www.trials-uk.com - New Pics / Riders Back After Injury!
ritch_trialsuk replied to ritch_trialsuk's topic in Website Updates
Ah yeh but whenever i wear a helmet i always always crash and badly injury every part of my body but my head!!! Usually flip outs, hopefully that wont happen with the new setup. And also to be fair I did go home and get the helmet for the more hardcore quarry session later in the day. My bad, be gentle with me people. Cheers Ritch -
Hi people The last time I posted on this site was to ask about advice for back problems: See post here. I had suffered a back injury back in January that I thought could possibly stop me from riding trials again, it was horrendous. But after months of resting, then cross-country, fitness work, physio etc I finally got back on the bike last month. Now I am almost 75-80% fit and starting to actually rride proper trials again. Thought I would write this just as a word of encouragement to anyone who is faced with a crippling back injury which can be really depressing. Got lots of really good advice from people on this site who pointed at a number of possible causes. Stopping short of changing to a longer bike, (it was suggested that the short leeson 660 caused a cramped riding style, however after much careful thought I decided i loved the bike way to much to change it ), I have changed every other aspect of the riding and preperation. 1-2 mile walk / ride to warm up, proper stretch routene, hot water bottle on the base of my back before and after every session etc etc and it has made all the difference. Also gone for a grind on the rear now that allows a much more aggresive riding style, keeping the bike more upright during drops / gaps which takes the strain off the back. Much fitter and stronger how so hopefully all this combined will let me, Glynn and Ross have a really good year of riding. Our last video was over a year ago!!! Download here, we hope to have a new video out by the end of the month and at least 3-4 more this year. We are all about 20x better riders now just been really unlucky with injury. Anyway sorry bout the essay!!! Got some new goodies for the bike as well. Check out the pics: click here More pics of the new bike: click here Cheers all Ritch www.trials-uk.com

Hi people Got my bike all sorted really psyced up for 2007, warming up in plymouth then bam, my lower back said goodbye and its all over, for the first time I'm walking home (well waddling!) and for the next two days I can hardly walk. Everything seemed ok up until that point, through this section didnt feel a thing - quick clip before back went, then on small roll up on a wall half the size it went. Absolutely gutted. We at trials-uk.com (Ritch, Ross and Glynn) have been hit hard lately with injury. Ross has had really bad lower back problems and its been holding him back for ages, now after a few months of minor problems I have joined the club and am very worried about the year ahead. Thing is both me and Ross are fairly stocky, around 5ft 10" and have pretty good all round muscle build, I am 22 and Ross is 24. I just wondered if anyone has similar problems? We are pretty old school riders both riding Leeson 660's and we dont do these massive insane drop gaps, do the odd big drop here and there but usually nothing over 10ft. If anyone does suffer from the same sort of thing what do you suggest I do to recover and get back on the bike. I have started riding loads of freeride / xc and am gonna get down the gym few times a week because the pyscio said it would be gd to build up the lower back muscles. Thought Id just say I have just seen zoo vid 33, unbelievable stuff Neil top rider. Just makes me wanna ride even more! RAARRRR Any suggestions / advice very much welcome. Cheers, Ritch www.trials-uk.com

do you mean the high roller dh single ply?? im after a 2.1 tyre for the front ideally, also is it preferable to have a soft compound on the front if so what tyre is best? apologies for all the stupid questions just wanna make sure i get the best setup for the new bike :)
-
cheers for all the help people think il go for the maxxis minions slow reezay on the back and the high roller on the front. chain reaction website just went down never seen that before! :)
-
thanks alot for all the advise looking foward to trying these tyres out. where is the best place to get these maxxis tyres from?
-
Hi there people. Sold my B26D and got a lovely Leeson 660 full build on the way (Y) just after some rear tyre advise for the new setup. I have always ridden with a IRC elgato on the back and usually a mythos on the front. I also tried a continental traction pro (i think) front and rear which had impressive grip but had a few problems with pinch flats riding with lower pressures. Just wondering if there are better trials tyres out there other than the IRC el gato. Like everyone im after loadsa grip but keeping it light at the same time. Anyhelp would be most appreciated. Cheers
