  1. I don't think there is a problem with what people wear. i don't give a sht what you are wearing to be honest i will still speak to you. I have just started working at homebase and there all chavs there but i still go out for a drink with some of them. But this statement is spot on. As long as i dont get griff i dont care. Edit other then this "what they do" i dont think going round town smashing every single window is a clever idea some one could get hurt or worst still i could get a puntchure.
  2. I dont have a problem with chavs but when i am on my bike and i ride past them and i get a apple thorw at my head it does tend to piss me off. If i was to ride past a bunch of emos i dobt this would happen. I think alot of people get problems off chavs this is why there is so much anger towards them. come on lets face it when was the last time there was a emo kid on the back of the bus giving you griff. Its always a chav. Dont get me wronge not everybody that wears trackes and henry lloyde tops will start on you. i know a few guys maybe not friends but i know for a fact that they wont go around giving people shit. oh and for the record i aint no emo. Edit : and also i like to mention i like to get pissed and smoke and i aint got a problem with drugs. I just dont like it when i get agro off people for no reason.
  3. wow its really interesting reading about all the stories about how people got started. I can remember the actually moment when i got interested in push bikes. It was on a trip to the millenium dome in 2000 Lol. A mate brought in a copy of MBUK. I still have a issue of it some where. I loved the look of all the bikes. Back then I was really clueless. I thought you could do all the different stuff on the same bike. Trials, dirt jumping, DH, street XC etc. A month later i got a DDG shooter trials spec. I had no idea what I was buying or what kind of riding I wanted to do. Any way a mate also got a bike with me. This is how I ended up doing DH and trails. I totally converted my bike into a DH /trail machine. Ah fun times. Then 3 years on I started getting bored of trails and DH so I got a Subway and made a little trials bike. I moved house lost my riding buddies and quit for good. Now Just recently I wanted to get back into it after seeing some guys doing trials in derby town centre. I remember all the good times a had and all the road trips I went on. Cannock chase, Skegness, Bristol Crew to name a few. I hope there will be more good times to come.
  4. JT what is your gearing ratio. Just out of curiosity. I don't want to know about gearing ratios by the way but thanks for your help. I want to no if that type of freewheel is going to fit on my rear hub (which is a T-master rear hub). Because its in my price range and it gives good engagement. This also makes no sense I have already lost the "front freewheel system". By running a free wheel on the back and a sprocket on the front. And dont try and reply by this is not the norm i dont give a shit about the norm. I can see you are only trying to help but sometimes i think people underestimate other peoples knowledge of bikes. The only reason i ask these crap question is that i have been out of the bike scene for ages and don’t ride with anyone at the moment to ask. I think that people have got this validation bullshit to far up there ass and sometimes quick simple replys are best. sorry for this rant but its true.
  5. Dont bother buying new bits just to make your bike nicer. Just replace them in the colour you want when you brake them. Spend your money on proper things like beer.
  6. I say if you know abit about bikes and think you could put one together yourself. To be honest you can get a really nice bike for quite cheap if you buy all the bits second hand. look at this comes with cranks... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Onza-T-Lite-Frame-Te...1QQcmdZViewItem (thats a long link^^) Then all you need is some wheels brakes bars, stem, headset, grips chain, pedals. Check out the Selling part of this forum there is always some bargins going down. (contact sellers by email) You can rob the chain, grips and pedals off a old bike. Onza do a set of budget wheels for 60quid. Thats with tryes and tubes... www.supercycles.com Edit: its www.supercycles.co.uk Brakes you could use some old v-brakes tune them up nicely so they work well. Or get some second hand magura HS33. (there pretty much what everybody uses). I rekon it will cost you about 250-300quid. And for that money you wont get any better. Or you could look on ebay and get a complete bike. there is always some bargins there.
  7. No offense or owt, but every day there is always about 2 new topics on what pads to use.
  8. okay i am going to get a Gu brake booster. How do people rate the GU brake boosters. Can i get a tensile free wheel for the rear then?
  9. I would post in "Random questions" but i have quite a few of them. First if i was to run two free wheels on the hub and on the crank, in effect this would be the same as running a free coaster hub right. Could some please clear this up for me. Will this freewheel fit on a hub i got a little confused reading the description... http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=398 I have been using chain tugs but they don't seem to be maintaining chain tension. They bend out of place personally i think there a load of crap. How do people rate snail cams. I have never seen these things before and was wondering how they work. (when did they come on the market just out of interest) Is running my head set like this okay? (these pictures where taken off a phone at night there a bit crap) http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p...2&members=1 Basically i am running the headset seal cap thing, upside down will this do any damage? it wont fit other wise. When i pull my back brake it looks like my frame is flexing or is it just the rim moving. Or is it both. Will a Brake booster solve this? I am interested in a "GU" one are they rated. Well thats pretty much it. I am sure there was something else, of well another time. Thanks
  10. Hmm just trying to work it out now I reckon its been about 3 days for me now riding trials lol. But I have been riding bikes sine 2000. About may time. And back then I was more in to Dirt jumping then anything else. Trials always applied( ~,~) to me. I always use to do a few back hops here and there. I think you first start riding when you get your first trials bike. Because before then it just messing about. Doing trials comps sounds like it could be quite some fun. Cant wait to get better.
  11. To be honest i have never run a Avid disc on the front But i have run a hope. Just put the hope on and forget about it. I use to bleed mine maybe once every 6months or so. Its a Beautiful brake to say the least nothing compairs. It grips its got modulation a small amount but you will get us to it. Now i dont no about avid disc brakes, but Running cable disc seems pretty pointless to me. Surly a well set up V brake going to have alot more bite then a cable disc. Then after About a few weeks the discs stopping power is going to reduce as the cable stretches. I can guarantee that you are always going to be be tinkering with the thing and it well drive you mad when you cant get it how you like it. In my opinion just get the hope. You will Not Regret it.
  12. lol i bike a hour down where i use to work at hawks we use to have to build about 10 a hour. but err we use to get alot of complates. Things like people turning the handle bars but the front wheel was still pointing forwards. but hell they were cheap amaco's. there wre ment to do that. Oh yeah more to the point you are best off watching some one else build your bike. I use to work in a bike shop but there are certain things that i still cant do. Like i struggled trying to fit a Internal headset because i have never done it before. So i say take it down the bikeshop.
  13. ^^ yep they are your old forks and front wheel. Heres the spec:- Onza T-comp Onza bar, fork and stem. Gusset pigmy cranks 24th tree ring HS 33 front and rear Onza T-pro front wheel. T-master rear hub on 19" hog rim. At the moment i am just waiting for my magura mounts and pads to come.
  14. That is so not true MODs came first. It was invented by some spanish father who wanted his son to ride Moto trials at a young age, but he was to young. So he customised a BMX to ride like Mototrials bike. This was the very first trials bike ever. I think it was Ot Pi father was it not. So there for by your logic MODs reign supreme.
  15. hi guys i have been around on the forum for about 3 weeks now i think. I have noticed alot of people post a short bit about them selves, so I thought it was time I gave it a go. Will I first started riding about 5 years ago but i was dirt jumping and down hilling, I had a DDG shooter with some 2001 Jr T’s (it looked abit odd but I liked it) Then about 3 years in riding I moved house and lost contact with me riding buddies so I also gave up bikes. I have also had a federal BMX, barracuda subway and a Raleigh swamp thing. Quite a selection. Now 2 years on I wanted to start up again. This time I decided I wanted to do trials after watching “dirty tricks and cunning stunts” great film by the way. I never buy bikes complete I always like to build them from scratch. It just makes me feel better when i ride them. like it actually means something to me, its odd but i am sure some people understand. Here is the bike I am riding at the moment. Its not quite finished yet but should be soon. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p...amp;uid=6048862 I will post some more pics when it is complete. I have never rode a MOD before so I don’t know what to expect. Mine could be absolute pish and I wont no^^. But it seems quite comfortable to me. Well that’s pretty much it. Please say some comments on what you think of my bike.
  16. heres a crazy idea... single speed. But its up to you, i personely love it.
  17. i posted the video i know. but i dont give a flying onion. If it breaks i will weld it back together. I cant say how stronge the frame is, as mine is still being built up (hopefull ready by friday). But if the own company that makes the things says its for competition use only. then it proberly aint that stronge at all. If you are worryed about it dont get it, it will hold you back when you are out riding. Get something you can trust it will give you more confidance.
  18. ^^ i got my T-comp on ebay from the same guy. (super cycles) I think they have a whole warehouse full. Any way basically the T-comp has thiner tubing compaired to the T-master. The T-master is ment for, more general use. While the T-comp really only should be for competitons. i ignored this and got one any way. But i have seen it does not take much to stap one check this out. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...q=oxford+trials
  19. Its still aluminium its just has differant amounts of certain elemants in it. Also the aluminium may of been heat treted in a slightly different way. This happenes alot in the BMX industrie with differant company promoting there own spicel tubing. As time progress we make technological advactments in materials and how to treat them. So the new metal has a slightly differant comperistion so we give it a fancy new name.
  20. The reason why pads squeak is because the front of the pad is hitting the rim first, this causes a vibration making the squeak. All you need to do to solve this is to, adjust your pads so that the back hits the rim first.
  21. Yeah, i get the pain in my thumbs, but i have only recently got back in to riding so its not effected me yet. I think my problem was that i used to grip the bars to hard. just try to relax. You fingers often move around pulling on the brake lever and such. Your thumb on the other just stays in a locked position all the time. So yeah the only advice i can give is just to relax your thumbs^^.
  22. Ahh, thank you for posting the picture in forum. That "aircraft stripper" sounds intresting considering planes are made from Aluminium. I will do some research on it. The frame is a T-comp if you look inside the head tube you can see some blue paint^^. I dont no if it is worth buffering the frame. Aluminium oxidises pretty quickly so wont it be pointless. Also while i am on finishes, i was thinking about putting a clear gloss on the frame, maybe i could buff it first then put the gloss on. Oh and Zoo i dont no where you got "and the acid is called caustic soda" i made no referance to caustic soda. Caustic soda and "Nitromors" are too different things.
  23. This forums full of a bunch of people that like to bitch and moan about getting validated. But there are some sounds peeps. You can still use the trading bit of forum but you need to contact people by email to do it. Just enjoy forum and dont get hung up on validation.
  24. here link to the frame... http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p...2&members=1 caustic soda is a akaline not a acid. and people have mentioned using angle grinders and drills on this forum when stripping frames. And if nitromors is acidic then it is harmful to Aluminium.
