  1. As already said by pretty much everyone. We just always stuck to our plans. Used land lines, can still remember all my pals old numbers.

This was my first phone, it was a beast!

One line of text, took ages to read because you had to let it scroll across the screen. I lost it in the front garden for a year and it still worked when I found it, just needed a charge. Try doing that with an Iphone!

More recently I've had smart phones but don't find them tough enough for my lifestyle so I've gone 'back' to a brick. Got a Samsung B2710 now, its fully waterproof and drop proof. Still got Facebook, Twitter and Google maps/GPS, just a lot more rugged than a touch screen.

  2. I used to try and upload to both Vimeo and Youtube but found the 500mb limit and 1HD vid a week on Vimeo too restricting and couldn't afford to pay for Plus. If I could, I would pay for a Vimeo account. Much better quality, no copyright bullshit and no adverts is good.

  3. Threw a party while my housemate was on holiday. One of my mates got paralytic so we coloured him in with shoe polish and selotaped all our cutlery to him. He proceeded to stumble about, getting black shoe polish all over the walls and cream carpets. Someone threw jelly on the living room ceiling, people were sledging down the stairs on each others backs, some of the lads went to town and came back again with a load of house for sale signs and a wheelie bin and left them in my bed/living room. The best bit was when my little brother puked in my housemates bed when he had specificly asked me not to let anyone in his room.

I had to redecorate the entire house, there were a load of holes in the walls upstairs, took me a week to clean up from that party. Safe to say, Im never hosting one again!

  4. Is US build quality really that bad?

But seriously, how does that work? Is it because they can see you in the car or something?

Bears know to f**k cars up to get food. Generally people don't keep food in tents or have them in sealed containers so bears can't smell them. Bears have learned this and don't even bother anymore.

But really so long as you don't have any food open to the air you'd have no issues.

Yep, they know food is kept in cars, so often break in to get it, apparently.

I felt a hell of a lot safer with metal and glass between me and the bear than a thin piece of fabric though!

  5. I was camping in California a couple of years ago and saw both bears and wolves. Scared the shit out of me if Im honest. Having lived in the UK all my life I had no idea what to do if I was approached by one.

We camped in the Sequoia National Park and were told we were safer in the tent than the car. Every camping pitch had a bear cage to stash your food in so they couldn't get at it. In the middle of the night we heard something smashing f**k out of this bear cage. I got dressed and legged it to the car, didn't sleep much after that!

Also heard wolves howling near Bakersfield, they weren't anywhere near us but it was such a creepy noise. Didn't sleep much that night either.

  6. Had a mess about with wheels on my daily on Saturday. Had these wellers for ages but haven't had anything to put them on so I bought some wobble bolts and chucked 'em on.

The fronts stick out way too far and its so low I could barely get it out of the workshop to take this pic. I was going the wind the coilovers down to close the arch gap, but theres no point, it would be sitting on the floor. Also the bolts are a bit long and interfere with something in the rear drums.

Oh well, back to the standard steels.

  7. I went to college straight from school studying mechanical engineering, then after 2 years at college started an apprenticeship. Met a girl at college and moved in with her after we'd both finished studying and I was working full time. Broke up with her a few years ago. I've lived in my own place with friends but Im getting sick of the 9-5.

Recently moved back with my parents to save a bit of money so I can go back to college. Im going pro with my unicycling and going to be studying media full time. The idea is hopefully I can apply my new media skills to the unicycling demo team I run in order to be able to market ourselves better. Can't wait to hand my notice in at this job (Work in a design office for a company that makes railway signals), I hate being stuck at a desk all day. The moneys alright but its boring and I'd rather have a fun life than one I'll look back on with regrets.

EDIT: All of my friends that went to uni are either pulling pints or on JSA. Just saying.

  8. @streetrials Not too sure, but between the clamps of the unicycle from that's where the bearings are so the wheel moves freely from the frame. The cranks attached to the middle of that. I think it's a bit like how pegs are attached to BMX's?

Nope, a bit different from that. Imagine a unicycle hub being a cross between a normal bike hub and a BB. In fact, imagine a BB with flanges and you're pretty close.

That one is ISIS, yours is square taper.

Reminds me of my first unicycle! Have fun with it!

    :)

  9. It depends what riding you're planning on doing. Im guessing you'll be mostly riding trials.

I run 2010 Echo TR's on my trials unicycle. Quite a few people have broken them on unicycles, but mine have been ok so far. Used them for about a year and a half and the bodies are slightly bent but thats it. I'd never run plastics for trials, you need the grip for pedalgrabs.

I have the twisted PCs on my 24" street setup and wouldn't use anything else now. They have decent enough grip but will grind pretty much anything :)

    Hope that helps!

  10. Was on a dating site. Girl sends me message. Send a few back and forth, get chatting, texting and calling. She seemed ok. Met her last October. She sayed at mine, I've stayed with her a couple of times. She has 2 kids, doesn't do a lot and I don't really fancy her that much. Feel like Im leading her on by still seeing her when I'm not that into her but I think she really likes me. I was straight up right at the start and told her I didn't want a relationship but I think she might be crazy.

So how do I tell her I don't like her without telling her she's munted?

  11. I've had a hard time finding any as well! I have however found these Kris Holm 24" rims (47mm wide, 36 hole) although I'm unsure which, if any, on-line shops sell them..

Edit: found a German site that has them in stock - http://www.einradlad...kris-holm.html

Cheers mate, thats what Im running at the moment. Looks like it my only option. I wanted to get something different because I can't really afford to fork out £50 on a rim plus they're not really strong enough.

havent seen nokian gazzalodi tyers for some time.

the looked soo badass when i was a kid...

Wish I could find another one. The best tyre I've used for the sort of stuff I ride.

  12. nice iv been pondering a uni cycle for a while now. where did you get it from

I had the seat, cranks, pedals, tyre and rim on my old 24". I bought the disc hub and new frame from Unicycle.com. Top notch service and the best source of unicycle parts you will find in the UK.

The rim is knackered, anyone know any 24" 36h rims that are over 45mm wide?
