I've broken a Hope axle, but thats it. Actually, in the 2.5 years i've been riding, the Hope axle and a dozen or so spokes are all that i have broken. Must not be riding hard enough

I'm soon gonna purchase some Heatsink pads, so i'll get grinding when i recieve them. I'll try a harsher grind this time. My mates have recently ground theirs, so i'll see what it's like

Erm, some man (or is it a woman? Who knows  ) with wind in his/her hair.

I did my first grind today, i tried to do a fairly light one so it didn't eat my CRM's to much.
I took the wheel out, took the tyre off, and knelt on the rim. I held the grinder at a fairly shallow angle, and ground away (i was wearing safety goggles and earmuffs, just to be on the safe side  ).
It was suprisingly easy, and took around 5 minutes to do both sides of the rim.
I thought it was fairly rough, although i hardly put any pressure on the grinder at all.
However, i was disappointed at it's performance - it locked fine in a forwards direction, but slipped very badly backwards. I tried applying a small amount of tar, but it still didn't work very well.
I sanded it off and applied muc-off, now it's back to it's former self.

Got my vote, can't go wrong with a Minion, Highroller or Mobster.
Just make sure you get the dual ply downhill casing, otherwise it'll pinch to buggery.

Please say which ones, and whether they are able to take a decent sized tyre.

Deej, unfortunatly I never got to meet you, I wish I had. You were an inspiration to every man - trials rider or not. Your attitude on life was second to none - and your spirit will live on.
So sorry you had to go,
Nick Wood.

Dear, dear, dear, I think somone needs to pay the social services a visit to sort out you childhood. I blame the parents...

I used my dremel cos my dad didn't want me to destroy my new rim with the angle grinder :(
it was good for the first ride, but after that it just went back to a smooth rim again.
It is convenient though, as said above, no need to take the wheel or tyre off, but make sure you charge the battery up before hand as it does eat up the power :(

it is really easy to cut them with a decent pair of tin snips, just to do the rough stuff, if you don't have access to a hot-knife.

VP make the onza, koxx and brisa seats, they are all the same apart from price, name and whether they are carbon look or not. they all fit 27.7 seat posts I believe.

on the back I run a crappy wtb 2.4 and a second slick and a standard tube on an old sun rhyno. I think I run it at about 30p.s.I, but I dunno cos I don't have a guage :D
the front I run about the same pressure on an irc mythos 2.1k, a standard tube on a mavic f219 disk. I hav'nt had any punctures for about 6 months.
I have now got a guage from santa( :-" ) and on natural I ran 18 psi on the tyre, rim and tube above. But I only weigh 9 stone cos I'm only a nipper. for street, though, I run about 25.

Tartridge, that rim looks sweet  I only have a small hobby tool grinder which only has about a one inch grinder bit on it! it is good for a light grind but only lasts for about three rides till it wares off. and cos of the small grinder bit, it takes me ages cos only the middle is in contact with the rim at a time. it makes applying tar easier though.

I havn't tried sprays and stuff, when i had mine i found some shiny plastic strips and put them between the grip and the bar, slid them on (went on easy as pie) then slid out the plastic strips ^_^
