  1. ^^^Same^^^

I've got a king on my Leeson 24", and an Echo SL on my Zoo.

The Echo SL feels so much more solid than the king, the king seems to have quite a "soft?" engagement to it.

Plus, if you ever break anything with the echo you can take it off the hub and just change it for a different make or newer model. If you decide to change the king to something else, it becomes alot more fun!

  2. I abslutley loved this weekend! I saw some old friends, caught up with people, had non stop banter and made some new friends! I can honestly say that this weekend is the sole fact I have not quit being a 'trials rider' I may not ride the bike very much but I have so many friends in the sport. I would like to give a massive thanks to matt for letting me loose on the mic, Stan you are a legend for not beating me down! And I would love to know who suggested I walked the plank? Those kids were savage! I still smile thinkinkung back to how many people I made laugh and do the mexican/ welsh wave! TD12???

Ha, those kids really had it in for you as soon as you started going up the plank. I thought you were going to make it at one point, think those crotch shots might have put you off though...

  3. Shame all Welsh people are jobsworth cunts.

Dam all us Welsh people! Yeah...

Anyway, apart from the above statement :turned: all of what you have said is bang on.

When I came across the fire, I thought that was the official TartyDays fire. As soon as the aerosols went on, I started thinking back to the NASS days.....The aerosols were definatly a step to far, but why they had a problem with the fire is beyond me.

With regards to noise, even on the Saturday night I didn't think it was out of hand. If you put a bunch of lads together, and beer your going to get noise!

What was with the woman at the BBQ, "donations please" (no donation), "tight"!!! I didn't even know what I was donating to!

In all honesty, I did enjoy myself. Only thing I thought would have added to it was a few more obsticals in out area, maybe just some more pallents to make stuff out of.

  4. You can measure your own wheelbase and geo mate.........

Rather than just slating him, why don't you offer advice as how to measure the wheelbase you throbber!

As said throbber said, you can measure your own wheelbase. To do this get the bike resting vertically with the bars straight and measure from the centre of the one axle to the other.

To measure chainstay length, measure chainstay length, measure from the centre of the rear axle to the centre of the BB (i think).

The BB height will be the height that the BB sits above the wheel axle line. Measure the distance from the centre of one axle to the floor. Then measure the distance from the centre of the BB to the floor then take one away from the other.

What are you using to measure the seat tube? To make sure its right, you will want to use a vernier caliper to get an accurate measurement. I'm going to hazard a guess that the internal diameter is more than likely going to be 31mm, as opposed to your 30mm. So a 30.9mm should fit perfectly. For the seatclamp your going to need an accurate measurement of the outside diameter of the seat tube.

  5. Can't wait for this to happen!

Just gutted we can't pick up the rent-o-van till 12, so we are not going to be there till 5pm.

Thinking on that, is arriving at 5pm Satuday going to be a problem? I hazard a guess it may...

  6. Another vote for Belaeys. Some people might find that they don't give the desired bite they want, but the hold is awesome.

Never had a problem with the chamfered edges myself :)

  7. I'm not failing to understand anything :)

I watched that video purely from a trials point of view. I like trials, I come on trials-forum for reasons to do with trials. I see a thread titled "danny macaskill" and I am intrigued to see if the video contains any decent riding (any of danny macs older videos from when he was on 26" ladder bikes is a good benchmark for decent). I am disapointed with the content, and I voice an opinion. Sorry.

If I was to view the video, purely from a filming/editing/advertisment point of view, I would agree with you. Its a well put together piece of work that showcases Leica's ability to manufacture brillant cameras.

Way back home was amazing, and I appreactiate the effort that was put in to making it but footage like that is NEVER ENOUGH!!! :turned: I wouldn't expect him to churn out videos like that every month, maybe just short clips to show how is riding is progressing.

I don't blame him for living the dream either, I think nearly all of us would be more than happy to be doing what he is doing.

  8. The quality of riding shouldn't only be measured in size. how exactly was it "gash"?

It seemed relaxed in comparison to much of his other videos (bear in mind he probably had no control over the edit of this) but why is that a bad thing?

Maybe "gash" was a little harsh, but I don't measure riding just in size. it just seems that since the way back home video there has not been any new decent footage? Or have I just missed it?

I understand he may not have any control over what went on in the vid, which is a shame really. Just seems to be less of a focus on riding, and maybe more on £££££££ (just an opinion, please don't take it the wrong way). I suppose when your in his shoes, its quite hard not to go down that route.

Anyway, I'm sure he's enjoying himself doing what he's doing :)

  9. Hand built 19" rear wheel with 'Brand New' Zhi ?? rim that arrived stupidly scratched and somewhat bent out of shape (all true now) from www.trials-uk.co.uk, 175mm anodized red spokes, Onza Sealed Bearing RHub, 16t 4pull generic freewheel, generic 140mm disk, 2.5" Maxxis Creepy Crawler and Clarks Clim8 six-piston hydraulic brake caliper.

Nice frame, havn't seen one of those for a while! Loving it.

One thing I will say though, have a search through the forum for reasons not to buy from Trials-UK. Theres various topics about them/him, stay clear!

    :)

  10. I've always found taking a run at it, and actually aiming to fail. In other words, do a half assed atempt where you only manage to get your front wheel on top of it and sort of fling the back wheel into the wall. Will get you use to the feeling of aproaching the wall.

    Hope that makes sense.

  11. At least with a grind you can count on its consistancy. You know a grind is going to conistantly wear down, to a point when its time for a re-grind.

With tar, there is not a great deal of consistancy, there are too many variables. For example, the temperature on the day you use it, the conditions in which you use it, the location in which you use it.

On one day, a smudge of tar on the rim could give you good hold all day. The next day, it could be gone in 10 minutes. You could be pootling around on small obsticals, not really relying on the brake then decide to go for something large, like a drop to rail and have it fail on you.

I'd much rather a smooth/ground rim with a decent brake set up over tar anyday!

  12. See this is why i don't like new parents......

It's very easy to disregard peoples comments as immaturity, but as a 25 year old professional male working in Central London i assure you my (and probably others) comments aren't coming from an immature mindset - more just a slight disgust at these competitions (which for reference i find repellent and a mixture of exploitative and pointless) and the tedious, mind numbing boredom that comes from listening to new parents spout on about their kid and just how 'individual, 'different', 'special' and 'wonderful' they are.

We get it... you are excited that you've got a sprog that t'aint a complete rotter, however asking people who have no knowledge of you or your sproglet to judge said child on purely their visual appearance is just weird. Plus it's also pretty immature. Saying that, signing up to a forum calling yourself "unhappybunny" casting aspersions on it's members due to the fact they're not besotted with your child isn't exactly a mature way of being.

Heck, maybe if i ever have a kid i too shall turn in to a repetitive, tiresome bore that expects the world to gasp in wonderment at the miracle i have brought forth.

Here's to your child, almost the 7 billionth person of the current population - but sure, definitely the cutest!

EDIT: f**king hell, it's even more pathetic than i first gave it credit for. Under your kids link it's like one big sycophantic, parental orgy of cross-child voting parents. "I voted for your kid, now you vote for mine..." give me a break - jeez are people that desperate for acknowledgment that they've had a kid? I feel so sorry for those kids to grow up with such parents and you madame have seriously put me off being a parent for some time if this is what it does to you. f**k promoting a kid for its academic possibility or creative skills - nah i want my kid to be the f**king sexiest kid in town.
