  1. DONT DO IT

Bongo your thinkning of the Wrong type of Diesel injection System.

Modern Systemsmust never be alowed to run dry. They use the diesel fuel to lubricae the pump, and the tollerences in the pumps are soo tight (0.000001mm ish)

    that

any lack of lunbrication causes them to literely fall to peices, and when that happens you have to replace every single component on the fuel system exept the tank, which needs extencive flushing, which costs thousands. (looking at about £2000 for the pupm and £1k for each injector)

Your car will have a saftey strategy instaled in the PCM to prevent run dry, this will start with the fuel light, then the car will intentionaly start missfiring, to simulate running out of fuel, then it will cut out, and wont start. Some systems will let you restart on refueling, some require a trip to the main dealer with expencive computer restting treatments.

And its not as simple as calling out the RAC or even bleeding the systme yourself. Old DI systems could be bleed by cracking the injectors off yes.

But its really not adviseable, as the pressures behingd them are high, but on common rail injection you will have apporx 350 bar of pressure behind each injector, and if that gets out it has the power to literealy cut through the bonnet, your hand, anything it can get near.

Bleeding TDCi is a process that need special equipment to do correctly, and is usually don through the leak off part of the fueling.

In short its not worth it. by fuel

pretty much what i was gona say

On a normal road car!? Don't be silly, how do you think they'd cope the first time you primed the fuel pump...

£1k injectors?! What the hell car is that for?! Manufacturers try to keep costs down to actually be able to sell cars, I doubt very much they'd be fitting £1k injectors in mass produced cars from the factory...

For what? the first one complete cycle, if that? Nothing to really be too concerened about

Pinking and detonation are the same thing (Y)

You dont really get carbon deposits on the valve seats... If anything easy start will loosen the deposits on the faces :)

Sorry mate, just sounds like you're talking alot of shit

I know for a fact that focus/mondeo/transhit etc TDCi injectors cost at least £600 each and a fuel pump will cost well over £1000. i was a technician in a Ford dealership for over 4 years and saw plenty fitted and fitted many myself. The fuel pumps are seriously that sensetive to debris/shite quality fuel. Easy start will hang about in the system for a bit longer than the first couple of engine cycles, ususally takes most motors a few minutes to get rid of the shite, then if you have one of these new fancy deisel particulate filter it will damage it.

trials_pimp it talking from the view of a dealership Tech, by the book, to the letter lol. Im' now working in a regular backstreet garage and have stopped thinking working like that but i wouldnt say he is talking shit at all, more like you have varied/little knowledge of newer commonrail diesel systems.

so yeah back on topic, not a good idea letting your car run till its dry at all.

  2. creating an anon user name for the school network and using a notepad doc as a chat page for several people to use and abuse by putting various obsceneties on it about a number of tutors :D

got excluded for 3 days and had so much fun out riding lol

  3. thought i'd add to this rather than make a new topic.

sometimes when i start firefox it comes up with the 'welcome to firefox' intro page like its the first time installation and all my history and bookmarks have dissappered. this only used to happen once every 2 or 3 weeks but now its happening everytime i come online.

anyone had similar problems? or know how to help?

    thanks

    Buck.

  4. pretty much simple iirc.

just make be careful with getting dirt on the injector/pipes, a small amount could have the potenial to block it.

just take your time n remember its all just nuts and bolt at the end of the day. good luck

  5. Mr. Screwdriver is your best friend.

go 'borrow' some plates and just drive off, that way theirs no come back on you, but dont do it like 2 mins away from your house just incase you get recognised.

oh and if u get caught, i didnt tell u to do it.

  6. more than likly gets its reading from the ABS sensors but could be a sensor on the G/box.

    try a renault forum.

or go to a renault dealership and see a member of parts staff, ask them if they have sold a lot of G/box speedo sensors, if they have then its probably a comon problem and might fix it.

or take it to a 'Fred ina Shed' styleee garage and get them to have a look.

  7. screw what anyone says about regreting getting it done

i got my KMC round my arm on my 18th when i was really into riding, now 2 years on i ride my bike to the shop once a month if that and am much more into cars, but still love my tatt.

whatever you get go for it and good luck (Y)

  8. combine the two...... bring ur birdout riding after work on a night and then take her home and have a nice time on te shower then the bed..

    simple really

however these days for me its more like drive, drive, drive, speeding, speeding, driving. shag.

  9. 2 bald tyres= 6points end of.

i got 9 point for a crash 3 days after i passed my test, but they only banned me for 55days becuase i needed my licence for my job as a mechanic.

if you can get a letter from your employer stating that you need your licence for your occupation you will at least have a fighting chance.

i got shafted for having a bald tyre a few weeks ago, the is no way out of it. they checked my tread depths(0-0-0) and then moved their patrol car and captured the image on their onboard video camera and issued me with a £30 fine, 3 points, a Vehicle Defect Form and a Section 59(get caught in same car doing anything and it will be crushed)

having a valid MOT means f**k all as it is just a check of the vehicle at the time of test and in some case's MOT rules are different to The Law ie: 1mm on a tyre will pass and MOT but if a copper is having a bad day he will do you over.
