  1. southend sunday boys, got my lesson through on monday and wont be able to ride properly till sunday (training course and kick boxing and pub crawls to attend to) even though i can see my self sitting there moaning about my head ache ive got a new bike and i wanna be out riding whos wid me

Would be man but i dont get my back wheel from Tarty until the 6th July :(

Do you know if you have any plans for then or if you are working? (its a monday btw)

  2. They are Echo team forks. From what I remember those were mega heavy but strong!

Yeah tarty still sell them :P

They are like 1KG or more i think.

But for them being strong i dont know about that either i know a couple of people who have snapped them at the steerer : /

  3. How'd you manage to get the crms off? I've tried boiling mine for over 20mins (even though it says 5mins in the instructions) and still could'nt get them off, I used a screwdriver but still can't and I don't want to rip off my cms!

I remember reading on the heatsink website the best way to get them off is to put them in the oven for a little while on 150 Degrees to make them come loose out of their backings...

Give that a go mate (Y)

  4. If I had those birds all lying down my bike would be the last thing on my mind!

1.25 was well bad though, bet he felt like a right tw@ after that.

At 1:25 he did it on purpose!

If he didnt then why would he get another one of those blonds to lay there if he didnt make the other jump?

    Was pretty good though :D

  5. Cheers matey.

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=6003

Will these fit then, says it comes with Evo2 mounts?

Yeah mate they will definitely fit your bike :D

Yeah mate if you need any help or advice on how to fit things etc.. then ask me on MSN

    pennyfold@hotmail.co.uk

    (Y)

Hey mate, YES you can fit HS 33's. You get adaptors that change 2 bolt mounts into 4bolts, therefore allowing maguras to fit in. When you buy maguras ask for EVO II mounts mate. will be about £10 cheaper and will fit your frame.

    Pics here mate!!

    http://www.selectbikes.com/index.php?act=v...mp;productId=59

Or buy these, £10 then buy some maguras. i may have some for sale or im sure some1 else will in For sale section. You can post here when you are validated. Ill get back to you soon mate.

    Cheers Billy

Hey mate, i have just sent you a PM with my e-mail. Add me on msn and i can help with any problems.

    Cheers mate

Dont buy from selectbikes (unless it says 'in stock') otherwise you wont get it :(

  6. Ive just looked the bike up on google and seen it does have the V-brake mounts. So the option I said in the other post about getting the 'V-daptors' would be a sensible thing to do along with getting some new pads and a lever (after contacting tarty and asking for advice).

There are various things that you could change to make the bike ride better: Bars, stem, forks and tyres.

In my opinion i think that best value for money for a better ride would be: (change the brakes to the 'V-daptors' and pads etc, do this before anything as the brakes are the most important thing) then you should change the bars: I suggest some riser bars - any of these; which ever take you fancy and stem: I suggest this one - Good price with a good rise and length as this would give a much better ride and doesnt cost as much as changing the forks (which can be done later. If you wish to change the forks aswell i would suggest these: Good strength and at a good price (Y)

    Hope this has helped (Y)

  7. Very nice mate :)

But as you said its just the Bars, stem and forks that are letting it down :(

When you get your new ones make sure you put updated pics up...

It will look soooo much better when you have them (Y)

  8. If you have a V-brake on the front of your bike then you can get these: V-daptors

These make it so your brake can be used with HS33 pads:HS33 Pads - A Variety

You should consider whether you are using a Smooth wheel or grinded wheel, to choose what pads you are going to purchase.

Ring Tartybikes (01772 323333) and ask them what pads would be the best to use with your set-up (Grinded/Smooth rim and the Use of Tar/No Tar).

As you will still have a V-brake on the front theoretically; you could also purchase a new V-brake lever to give you a better lever pull and feel; I would suggest this lever to give a nice pull and feel as i would think many would agree: Avid SD7 Lever or you could also use this one Avid SD5 Lever

As for a rear magura if you have 4-bolt mounts then you can purchase a magura and put it straight on.

But if the frame has V-brake mounts on the rear also i would recommend that you do the same as the first option that I suggested (Y)

I hope i have helped you mate :)

P.S: If you did not know about Tartybikes then I would strongly advise you to buy from them; either ring them (01772 323333) or go to their website (www.tartybikes.co.uk), as they provide friendly, polite service (over phone obviously) with Super-fast delivery (normally next working day, if ordered before 4PM).

  9. Wow. Think I'm going to be changing my CRM's to LGM's soon. :P

EDIT: Wait a minute... Are the LGM's better than the CRM's in both dry and wet, for both hold and bite, AND it has a firmer feel?

I take it their more expensive then? Because then nobody would buy the CRM's? They have no advantage over them?

I think i will have to change my order to the LGMs :P

even if they are a bit more expensive :D

ill have to give tarty a ring tomorrow (Y)

  10. waaaaaaaaaaaaay

now ride them for a week then stick a review up (Y)

    Will do ma'friend (Y)

The best choice any trials rider can make. (Y):D

I hope they will meet the hype that has been brought to them :D

    Great choice mate!

Tarty's has just made the first order for the LGM compound the Stan and Ali have been riding. In complete pads and refills. Basically they will stock my complete range of CRM,LGM refills, complete pads and backings.

Just to give everyone the heads up here my quick review on the CRM vs LGM.

CRM Yellow Excellent modulation with great holding power. Slightly spongy lever feel. Dry weather pad.

LGM Green Excellent bite excellent holding power. Firm lever feel. Works in the wet.

    Le.

Cheers for the information mate (Y)

but i dont know whether to change my order to the LGMs (my order isnt to come until the 5th of June as i am having my wheel built aswell)

Can you advise me on whether i should change these?

    - Do the LGMs have better bite and hold in the dry than the CRMs?

    - Will they last for a long time on a medium grind?

  11. Hello mate

Just wondering will the pads be avaliable from Tarty by the 5th of July roughly?

as i can change my order

also will they be the same price as the current CRM pads?

Amazing, amazing, amazing pads! Anyone who has used my rear brake should vouch for it.

    Absolutely love the LGM's.

Just wondering Stan, do you know the answer to the question(s) in the quote above this one?

    Thanks in advance (Y)

  12. Just like to announce. That the all new TNN LGM have been released in complete pads and refills.

As tested by and loved by all of TNN test rider including Stan and Ali C.

The LGM is very different to the CRM. Where the CRM give excellent modulation with great hold the LGM is a raw power pad with excellent bite and holding power.

Also works well in the wet. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=136397

CRM refills will also be available and TNN backings separate as well.

    Hello mate

Just wondering will the pads be avaliable from Tarty by the 5th of July roughly?

as i can change my order

also will they be the same price as the current CRM pads?

  13. In the end i went for the New TNN pads :P for various reasons...

    - They were the most popular in the vote and had the best feedback

    - Tarty stock them and they will get delivered rapidly

    - The other places i could have brought the other pads both needed me to use paypal and when trying to link my card i fail and it locked it :giggle:

  14. At least it is built now matey... which is more than can be said for my bike :P

Your bar height must be about 42" :P mines 37"with the old lower-rise echo team stem and V!Z Pro720 bars :P

yeah just get a lower stem and put your echo forks on when you get them and that will ride and look a hell of a lot better (Y)

oh and btw your rotor is on the wrong way :P

  15. i'll decide :)

    TNN (Y)

    Cheers man :P

I've been using the yellow Try-all Croco pads since last September. I first used them on an echo rim (light grind) with a water bled brake and it was without a doubt the best brake setup I've used. Now I'm running the Croco's on a Try-all rim (light grind) and they are a bit quieter but give more hold. The wear life is very good also.

My vote goes to the Croco's!

Ohh you make them sound sooo good!

They are definitely going to be considered as they are quite cheap also compared to the others :D

Im skint at the moment :(

Right, im in the sort of same dilema. I have some heatsink backings with green cousts in. They are absolutly knackerd, so is it tims for coust refils, heatsink refills, phat refills, or can you get tnn refills? would work out loads cheaper. Whats the advantages of TNN over cousts or phats?

    max

    P.s sorry for threadjacking :P

    No worries mate :)

Atleast it keeps the thread bumped :D

I would happily run any of those, so just buy one of em.

Will do when i have the money :)

just checking for the best to run before buying any :P
