  1. Hey there, I was just wondering if there is any way of making a standard Deng bashring fit on tensile urban legends with the splines. Its jus that the standard tensile ones dont look that good Cheers rob

  3. Hey there I have never shown me bike on trialsforum so I thought it was about time! any comments just add theres been some heavy welding on it aswell :$
  4. I think the monty KAMEL looks really nice actually, which is surprising because everyone else i know hates it. Just looks crazy, and people would look at you if you had one!! Also, what is the geo like on them, are they long or just like normal montys, short.?? thanks rob
  5. hey there Im telling you now just get a monty 6-pawl, absolutely great freewheels. I have had absolutely no trouble with mine and its been running for about 6 months now!!! On the monty the lockring is on the other side, pressed against the crank so that it cant come loose at all. http://www.biketrialstation.com/fw/monty.jpg cheers rob
  6. Helicoils are the way to go dude!!! Very strong and can be tightened down hard. No real chance of thread stripping if inserted properly thanks rob
  7. I haven't ever owned one, but usually good bikes all round. Ridden the t-mag and t-pro and they seem to be solid reliable bikes. Nothing wrong with them at all. Good geo and smooth to ride cheers rob
  8. Well hey there Will, Im from the Leicester area of Syston, do you know Josh Greenan and that? Anyway if you want to organise a ride then here's my msn: dagangsta@btinternet.com (sounds stupid dont it) cheers rob
  9. hi there, I know people that would still ride the Raleigh for trials, then again, they would ride anything! CHEERS ROB
  10. thanks alot guys, I was just trying to outline the difficulties and strengths of both bikes and how jumping from one to the other is not always easy thanks for reading, rob
  11. Great pics my friend, croatia looks like an nice place for trials!
  12. well guys you never know, we could be riding bikes made of helium! Somehow??
  13. Hi cam, I do agree with your views on height but I think that strength is not so much of an issue. I have been riding with you alot in the past year or so and I am certain that your riding skills will improve with a mod. To be honest you are quite short but a mod will be just the right size. I have always rode mod and I dont think that I would ever change! Keep trialing cam and I hope to ride with you next week? cheers rob
  14. Hi there again, With all the different ranges, makes and models of trials bikes at the moment it made me think of the history, and the future of trials. Trials has been around for around thirty years now and in that time we have seen a big change in frame materials, designs and overall bike geometry and appearance. Steel turned to aluminium and the normal shape of a bicycle was forgotten as trials was in development in the 80s. It started in America and has since grown to all 4 corners of the world. This was one of the early trials bikes, made by Raleigh and called the "Edge" Obviously trials has progressed massively from this now with the help of some of the early riders, Ot Pi and Monty. We now have trials bike designs that early trials designers would have never even dreamed of such as the Monty Kamel 2008: We also now now have som many options for frame design such as BB rise, frame length, head angle and chainstay length. trials is alot easier now than it used to be! Independant companies have been set such as manufacturers of the brake block! ( and making money I might add ) Frame material have also come along way from thin, box-tubed steel, to the latest U6 aluminium alloys we see today. So where will trials be in 10,20 or even 50 years from now? Bike are constantly becoming lighter, stronger and the geo is constantly changing and improving. How will trials bicycles look in the future????? thanks rob
  15. hi there, Welcome to the forum, if you need any help with set up, parts or maintenance then just give us a shout Sounds like your gonna have a nice bike at the end matey thanks rob
  16. edit: Both bike are obviously different, but the change from one to the other was fairly easy and once I had gotten used to the feel and control of the bike, it became much much easier to ride. It takes time, but if anyone out there is thinking of changing their bike, then keep practicing and soon you will get the hang of it and your skills will develop massively thanks again rob
  17. my msn is on my profile at the bottom dude! Dont email to that address though!! cheers rob
  18. Hi there, This is just a short review of these two bikes and the big jump that steps up your riding from beginner to an experienced trials rider. I know that the saracen is not a tricked-up bike but I say that it needs mentioning! Also, quite alot of beginners around leicester run these bikes. I would just like to start of saying the a saracen 2.zero is not exactly a high-spec trials bike, and at £180 new who's complaining? Saracen The saracen frame is very short and surprisingly very light for such a cheap bike and a great bike for beginners(well thats what I think anyway). As can be seen above it is simple and hassle-free. The main good point of this bike are: 1. It's cheap! 2. Its quite light even against high end models 3. It is very simple and easy to maintain and use for months 4. It's a great beginners bike, no matter what people say! 5. Parts can obviously be installed such as maggies etc 6. Easy to get use to and skills can be quickly developed 7. All parts are of good quality 8. The geo is actually quite similar to the Montys! The main bad points are: 1. As skills develop, the performance of the bike prevents any further progression in most cases 2. Quite short geo so suitable for quite short riders But they are the only real bad points I see in this bike to be honest Koxx Levelboss '06 Th koxx is alot more expensive than the saracen but it is obviously one of the main trials bikes on today's market and is still a great bike in my opinion even after years of the same design. The main good points: 1. Great geo in my opinion ( levelboss long) 2. Very light even compared with others at the higher end 3. Quite cheap compared with others at the higher end as well. 4. great for natural and street in my opinion 5. Good quality tryall parts as standard 6. Skills can be developed easily The main bad points: 1. Frame is quite weak, though will easily withstand a years worth of smashing I made this review only the contrast the two bikes. The saracen is what I started ring and it got me where I am today. It is great value for money but to develop skills even further, a longer smoother bike is needed. I know some poeple wont even bother reading this topic but I just thought I would share my past bikes and experiences with them. The saracen is just for beginners, like I was and I didn't want to spend alot of money on a sport that I may not take to. (It just so happens that I did ) thanks for reading, ROB
  19. Not really my friend, because it's not exactly a 'trials' bike. Not really a trials frame not trials rims not trials bars n stem I know someone who's selling his 26" if you fancy it??? Just add me on msn matey cheers rob
  20. Can't you get them from selectbikes matey? Tunni and CLS stickers I think. cheers rob
  21. MBUK is the only real one I believe.
  22. I would go with just an echo team stem, as mairomonster pointed out, if you have a too short or low stem, it will break the geo of the bike. Great choice of frame btw, those frames ride smooooooth cheers rob
  23. I have worked on an ENO, great freewheels. They never slip but the one I worked on did come loose after about 5 rides and that was only beacuse it was quite old. I would personally choose a Monty freewheel beacuse the lock ring is on the other side but the ENOs do come with a lifetime warranty. You can take them apart and possibly lock-tight the lockring, that hopefully will make it hold. To tighten it just turn it with your fingers so it is tightish now and again. It should be fine. cheers rob
  24. plazzys all the way lad. a great pad which is longlasting, and has a great hold and bite on ANY RIM!!!
