Haha, Loved it!

Ah cheers for the info, and having the front rim on the rear sounds like a pretty good idea for saving weight, but does it not feel really unstable on the rear?
No, not really.. i had Trialtech 38mm rims on before, so the 37mm front rim does not feel any different! When it comes to strenght i guess the front rim is strong enough aswell.
Since im only fooling about brakeless
-
This is HOT!!!!!!
How the hell did you get it to weigh that little, i thought 24" were near impossable to get under 9 kg?
Also what tires are they, they look pritty rockin
I have just bought pretty light parts all over.Cutting off wire tabs, brake mounts and blasting the frame and fork saved alot. aand i have a Echo TR frontrim at the rear! Dont need a heavy , wide doublewalled rim
The Tyres are Schwalbe Tabletop 2.25 Wire..They are okey, abit to light to use for trials, exept as a front tyre.. Works fine for chilling around brakeless

Would be fun to try soo many EP's at the rear
-
I like.
What stem have you currently got on it?
System Ex. 30deg * 90mm

Aaaaah, interesting! I had the Senior 2 on mine, but with padding on.
Hmm
Strip it!
-
Good luck finding an 11t
What seat is that, out of interest? Gusset or something? Looks sweet anyway (the whole bike, plus the seat )!
Its a Odyssey Senior2 plastic!
All the Bmx'ers hate it, too small
I have a pretty wide Ultegra 11t cog..But afraid that it won't have enough grip in its teeth and slip
-
16:12 is a lot lot lot lot (etc) nicer dude.
Looks goddam tidy!
yeah, i'm going to order a 12t cog..might try to find a 11t aswell
Took it for a testride in the rain..Feels soo god compared to when it weighed 10.7kg
-
Wow, whats your gearing? 16: something? Is there not a bit of annoying slapping action going on from the chain?
16:13
Feels nice for trials though..
Ordered wrong from tarty, was going to order 12 and 13, but i ordered 13 and 14 instead
and i have bought two used 74kingz that is on its way.
-
that guy on the silver ashton...
his style just put a smile on my face
smooth and awesome to watch
+ silent brake = win
Same here..the atmosphere is so relaxed and that everyone is smooth
-
Tidy stuff dude!
I'd rock the seat a little higher and drop the bars a smidge but otherwise it's gorgeous. Great weight too!
The seat is at its highest now! tiiiny wedge seatpost
The handlebars are to high for trials, but its really fun for spins and manuals! Going to change to a Onza 85mm*20deg stem and take of 5mm of stackers
-
Hey
Got some new parts from tarty today. While waiting for those parts i cut all unnesasary things of the frame and fork and got them blasted
Waiting for a used 74kingz tensioner..but other than that its perfect!
-
Perfect!

I'm the same, want either a Born, Slate II or FANS.
Worried that the Borns a bit long though?!
This looks very nice though!!
The born does not feel long at all, because of the really slack headangle.
The wheelbase tricks you to think its a long bike, its the reach you really should look at
Altough, had a go on a Slate 1 and a Slate 2, and they feel nicer. Lower bb suits me better.

Chain: Trialtech light
Would guess this spec as listed would weigh close too 7500g...Might build it up with the light tyres just to weigh it again.
Its not really usable with the light tyres and tubeless at front..( Mountain king supersonic and furious fred)
Good for sidehops..thats all
So at it is now, the updated version at 8070g is the lightest the bike can be, and still be rideable!
Could save some small grams on hubs, rear rim, rear brake, stem, tryall crankarms .. without the bike getting any worse.. Probably 100g or so there.
I have found out that a bike that weigh 8.4-8.8 is perfect, when thinking about riding the thing
Everyone that have tried my bike says " Oh, fook, is this thing really rideable?" at first..then "Hate the frontbrake..."
-
i have finaly realized that my first tyres was shite..So i have mounted some beefier ones..The bike weigh 8070g now.
Washed my bike today, going to put it in my room. Because its minus degrees now outside in the nights now.. Going to use my Inspired from now on when i get my parts from tarty!
Ti cog rear
Ti freewheel...(allready started to skip )
Echo SL lever..
Echo Sl ti pedals..Really lovely size and grip..Let's see how long they last!
A little picture of my Inspired as it stands now..Cant wait to get it built up again!

I felt big difference from 170mm arms and 175mm on my (brakeless)Inspired..
the 175mm arms gave much more power, and was really nice when i was riding trials.
The 170mm arms was alot easier to pedal fast with, felt like i could pedal at a lot higher rpm.. This was nice when riding park and street
Would choose 175mm arms though
-
Does the gigapipe tool fit the Middleburn lockring?
-
thet aren't all that different, but for the sake of argument, say you have the same geometry and same brake mounts, bb standards etc on two frame+ fork sets (whatever you think is good for street-trials), the only difference is that one takes the front end height in the handlebar and the other divides it between handlebar and bars/stackers. which would you choose and why, this is what i am trying to find out..
The inspired.. Looks better, is alot lighter, the gearing is better suited for streettrials, and you have the oppurtunity to put on a long stem and ride "real" trials.
-
Trialtechs are the best.
Tryall and Viz are thinner and the foam are harder.
Montys are even thinner, but as soft as the Trialtech..This means very low lifetime, lasted me 3-4 rides.
-
2 finger, and they are absolute shit...Give you blister after 5min ride...Go for some of the normal levers!
-
Really fun to watch!
Very impressed at the nose manuals!

Hello!
Does anyone know anything about this Born 24" frame?
Geo? Weight? The Born homepage ?
Thanks!
-
Haha, thanks I thought I saw an order with your name on for some 24" bits earlier - that'd certainly explain it. You won't regret it
Heh, jea..Making my Inspired 1500g lighter
Going to make a bike check later when i get the parts..Think im going for black or stripped frame
Have had my Inspired for two months now, But had a Urban fork on with cut steerer, which was waay too low..So when you guys sent me a wrong fork for my Born, i ordered a new one, and mounted "the wrong" fork on the inspired. And now the bike is awsome!
