  1. But the point I'm trying to make is that he's now effectively a 'manager', so he could be transferred from that store to any other if another manager left, or if the main manager from that store got transferred for a similar reason, he could be instated to "top dawg" if needs be.

Just spotted Joe's post - it doesn't have to be something you don't like to earn more money. If you like working on bikes, you might be interested in the design of them, which would suggest something like a metal-working/welding apprenticeship, or aiming for a product design degree or something, which could lead you on to bigger and better things.

    QFT.

Thats what i was trying to say, but yeah you get what i mean. There are always other (and better) aspects of a job.

  2. yeah but it's more to do with the fact if you come off your bike going more than 30 and you cause a lot of damage, your insurance company will rip it apart to see if you'd modified it without declaring, if you have then your f**ked basically.

50's shouldn't be able to go above 30 if the rider is just 16, if they can then you void your insurance and therefore could end up in a bit of bother which you don't really want.

it might be worth the risk, it might not . it's up to you.

Well to be honest, most people get TPO or TPF&T insurance, which means your not going to have your bike fixed anyway, so you may as well not involve the insurance company with your bike as they wont be fixing it.

Well cheers for including me (one of the 1st to get one on here, after MR Sheehan) :(

:D its up for sale soon though :( will be getting a 125 though :D :D

  3. ahhhh!

That was mad lol, really impressive uni skills. The last bit, were you scuffing your foot on the wheel to keep yourself upright? Still, majorly good balance there, and the trials biking is really good for 3 months worth! Well done :D

P.S. You know you want to marry me instead!

    :giggle:

  4. I get my ped on Saturday, will get some nice pictures up around that time (if anyone is interested in the slightest).

Putting a 70 kit on a ped isn't the wisest thing in the world to do if your still 16.

I'll say it once, and once only; Get a geared one. :D

  5. That was a very well-worded post, Muel. I'm convinced.

Convinced? That must make two of us! Reason I say that is i'm convinced you shouldn't really post on this subject unless its actually helpful to someone.

  6. Who mentioned chavs? I'm not calling boy racers chavs at all. I have good friends who do it.

I'm well aware of what car is in your avatar. When a good mate of mine was 17, less than 6 years ago, he was insured on a Sierra Cosworth.

I have a clean driving license, have always worked on my own cars, and have rebuilt engines.

    I am also dumb. I don't refute that. :(

EDIT: To Beau - it was how your thread came across on here than put the nails in your coffin.

Wow, thats grand, is the car still in one piece? And you say about driving up a motorway slipway the wrong way, a motor vehicle related wrong-doing you would say? Which is also what you could categorise beaus misfortune as? What im saying is that silly things happen with cars and the people behind the wheel, they shouldnt really be slated for it.

This must be why you post such useless drivel then...

  7. Ha ha, I see where your anger is coming from now! You're 17, from Southend-on-Sea, and (I'm assuming) drive a Renault 5 GTT. Of course you're going to get defensive about boy racer abuse.

Hey, guess what I did - I drove up a motorway slipway, the wrong way! Retarded or what?! Other people make mistakes, but that's not really the point here.

Today's lesson is all about taking responsibility.

Oh look! He IS an idiot!

If you really must know, im 17, ride a MOTORBIKE and yeah i'm from southend along with a fair few other users of this forum that you wouldnt look at and start calling chavs, into which category i would fall into. Also showing your lack of intelligence is the fact that the car you reffered to is turbocharged therefore is actually quite quick, so theres no way i would get insured on that which shows how dumb you are a bit more! Can i ask you a question, of course if you could gather the brain power to answer - Do you have a driving licence?

  8. The difference is, old people know they're lame, young people think they're good. I'd raise the age limit to 21 unless you need a car for some particular reason (i.e. job such as salesman, BT engineer, etc). And make the test harder.

Hahaha you really are an idiot. Old people are senile, have a lack of reactions etc and are generally a hazard on the road. Yeah young drivers may race around but chances are they would have the ability to stop in the event of an emergency. And what makes you so special that you can take the piss out of people on the internet? Is it to do with being so cool that you're a senior member on here so you're all high and mighty? What about in the real world, what makes you so special that you can rip people for accidents that have happened? Sweet f**k all i should think, so again unless you have anything sensible to say i suggest you shut up.

  9. Ha ha, yeah, in about 6 months time, when all the stress it's caused has far outweighed the value of the parts, should you ever get them.

Are you desperately trying to be the biggest tosser on the forum? Im not sticking up for beau, he might've sent the parts and he might not of, but is there any need to start slating him about it all after the situation hes been in? Dont think you would find it funny if people started cracking jokes if it was you, so do you reckon you could do me a favor and shut up or f**k off? Because your views on the whole situation dont seem to be helping anything.

  10. Old people shouldnt drive, as most of them havent even taken a test for driving or anything like that, so i reckon they should all be tested again, and if they pass be let free. On the other hand they have free bus passes so why not use them?

    EDIT: P.S. IN.

  11. May i ask why you went for something...That wasn't going to earn you a great deal of money in the future ?

well it means i am qualified to do quite a few things, and computers seems to be where the money is these days. It also leaves the window open for Uni as well which is always handy to have. Im not particularly bothered about earning millions per year, as long as it pays the bills i would be happy, my brother does programming and is on roughly £40k pa, and he didnt even go to college.

  12. hi i was wondering if there was going to be a big ride or some thing and also what is happening to the mini when its finshed maybe a raffle and giveing half the money to charity and the rest to ollis family sorry not read through properly just cought on with what happened and the situation if this ideas already been posted , one last thing have you thought of going to a specific mini magazine to publish and have profressional pictures taken of the car when its finished and explaining why you have done this. hope my contribution has done thanks dan

The car is going to be driven to many shows by both the Lewis family and Prawn, and my understanding is that this will keep happening for as long as possible.

  13. Understand Exactly what you mean. If you can save money, Part time is ideal, My friend is at Full time College, 5 days a week. He works a tuesday and wednesday night, 5-11 at Sommerfields petrol station. Brings home around £300 a month. Im taking into account that your behind on work, but the fact that your so close to finishing a course, if you get the work done, even if you have to stay in over summer, You can then next year start of the higher level corse instead of reapeating what you've already done, which in my opinion makes no sense. Were not exactly in summer yet, Weathers still shit in my opinion. I recko weather will get better in a month or so, So for the next month, why not knuckle down, get your work done, even ask for some extra help at College off your tutor etc ? I know there's your freedom and fun to take into account, but you've also got to consider your future, I know your not dropping out fully, Im just saying. If you think it's gonna' be in your best interest to drop out and go into work and start again in September, then go for whats going to benifit YOU most, After all it's your life, You do whats best for you.

Yeah i agree with some of that, but i need like, £2500 to get the bike i want, then whatever else i want. And this is only my first year of the course, to be honest i havent learned a lot about anything. i reckon the bad-ish weather is good, because it will make me think more towards doing work rather than chucking a sickkie to go to the beach, and i will have the money i need by the good weather. My college tutors arent really helpful and to be honest the college as a whole isnt either, my timetable gets changed almost weekly and the tutors are really disorganised. And even if i did stick with college and finish a year earlier than my plan, it still wont really affect what pay or job i will get with the qualifications i recieve. Cheers for chatting to me about this btw mate, otherwise i would still be sitting here summing it up lol.

  14. Hmm, It depends, Don't you like break up for the summer hols in 2-3 months ? Thats not along time really, Have you considered part time work ? It all depends what you want, I went into full time work because i wanted to, Fair does, Ive now got two trials bike, top pc, nice clothes, nice phone, xbox etc. but i havn't really achieved anything, All i did when i was in full time work was look at the clock and think, WTF :( . So now i've got everything i want, Decided i wanna do something with my life, So im going College, By all means drop out, then go back in September, If thats what you wanna do :)

See thats the thing, i can save money like nobodys buisness, so i only need to work for a while to get what i want then i will have a part time job. Yeah theres only a few months left, but i have a LOT of work overdue, mainly because ive been dicking about with motorbikes. and i dont wanna get kept in at summer because im inundated with work, and it will be the same course im re-doing next year so i will have all of my work that ive done this year which will leave me ahead of the class. I think dropping and re-starting in september is a good idea to be honest, will let me get what i want and that will mean trying to obtain it wont affect college, because i will already have it if you get what i mean?

  15. I come straight out of school and into full time work. Biggest mistake of my life, Its the most soul Distroying thing in the entire world, I'm guessing your 18/19 years old. A lad of that age shouldn't be stuck in a full time job at that age, you should be out there having fun, studying at College etc.

Stay at college man, Can get your motorbike and all that stuff after you've qualified in whatever your doing, when you have about 50 times more money than what you would earn if you went into a full time retail job.

Why am i up, well to be honest, Xbox 360's, headphones with palylist is on, Tf is on other screen, I probs just don't wanna go sleep.

P.S - Does anyone know any good software for learning CAD, Maybe some tutorials to go with the software ?

noo lol i dont mean sack college altogether, im 17 btw. Im in my first year atm, dont really like the people on my course, the course itself and i find it hard to concentrate on stuff. Basically what im thinking is quit now, get a full time job to pay for some stuff (re-do my room, get a nice motorbike, get back into trials, xbox and tv etc) then enjoy the summer, general mess about and knuckle down with college again in september. to be honest being with people a year younger wont bother me and this way i can have a bit of fun?
