  1. Going into bike shops and asking for certain trials parts often produces stupid comments. for example halfords looking for a try-all tyre (i know they dont have shit like that i just thought id try rather than wait for postage etc.) so anyway: Me " have you got any front try-all tyres in 26" halfords guy "you dont want try-all mate their shit, you want these for trials" (some shitters like vee rubber in like 3in wide) I was like quit yo jibba jabba. 25 yr old scally faggit waster the other day "wots that on your head mate a f**kin shell ed, woooorrrrr dicked" his 14 year old girlfriend started laughin then he chased one of my mates then he got smacked No more shitty comments from that scally fag
  2. i ride becoz am well ardddd mate worrrrr. nah really i ride because i enjoy it, its also the only good way to forget all the other shit like school/college/work etc. apart from drinking.
  3. i ride trials motorbikes, 250 beta rev3. soon to be doing my full bike test and getting a zx636, or r6.
  4. hey mr malcolm all the comps feature different routes with varying difficulties for anyone from beginners to the other end.
  5. right cheers for the help, what i was wondering is if there any weaker or anything, ive been looking into it though and the doesnt seem to be much complaints about them.
  6. Id buy a revenge brake if i was you, absolute mintness, i run one on my bmx , smooth as you like with more bite than a great white.
  7. am with lou, khe collapse chain is where its at, have got one after snapping everything from shadow chains to kools, and shimano's.
  8. Just wondering how the iso disk hubs compare with the singlespeed hub. has anybody used them for trials and found any problems etc.?? thanks in advance
  9. hey alex ive noticed youve made loads of small threads asking small or irrelevant questions. just use the small questions thread from now on please.
  10. back on topic. check out "tarty bikes" and "select bikes" they probably the most used trials shops in the UK so check em out they have plenty of bikes for under £300
  11. the weakest part of any rim is the join this will usually break first compared with a hole. so really a drilled rim is still as strong vertically. as in for landing on. but horizontally they are weaker so need to be trued more often.
  12. yeh id heard it was similar to a cluth but id like to know the proper details. ill have to have a speak to matt about em then.
  13. yeh you should come down it would be good to get riders from different places to ride the trials. there not stupidly hard but theres 3 routes so theres enough to suit most levels of riding with the exception being top level national rider/pros etc.
  14. Ive been looking into getting a Chris king single speed hub and noticed they use a ring drive system over the pawl/spring/ratchet mechanisms found with most hubs. Basically i want to know how this system works and why it is less likely to slip. Ive looked on the chris king website but there was no detailed info on how the system works (i google searched aswell but its mainly crap.), all i know is it uses one bring spring which pushes against the hub and driver? so if anybody knows how the system works would you care to emulate on it. thanks...
  15. i agree the echo's looks so much better than the monty's. dont know how neither ride except my mates 221pr snapped at the headtube, chainstays and the seattube. that would be enough to put me off.
  16. cheers for the link. Thats some good riding. Looks like a mint place to ride aswell
  17. doesnt matter where the brake is it will still work as well. however you will lose some adjusment but its nothing to worry about. but if the rims are the same widh which according to tarty they are then it shouldnt matter at all
  18. hey-up youve got the wrong forum i think mate if you mean jump bikes as in like dirt jumping etc then you want to be on www.ukdirt.com
  19. when i did mine first of all i practised on some shit rims, using a grinding disk i just layed the rim on the floor and went round it bit by bit. then i did it with a metal cutting disk (as in a disk for cutting metal) and did the same thing. The steeper you hold the angle grinder the harsher the grind gets. heres a link to a how-to video. "Rim-grind How-to"
  20. yellow on a koxx looks mint i had yellow rim tape on my koxx for a bit (was really just yellow electricians tape whilst i waited for some proper stuff) it looked smart though. in my opinion anyway
  21. theres 10 riders including me, but theirs only one that rides all the time another just wears his girlfriends jeans, another is now a rogue scally and the rest dont really ride much just kind of to and from places then just sit about and watch. still better than none
  22. oh i see do you want to spend about 50 pounds per wheel?
  23. just rims? theres not many that are over 50 quid. id recommend try-all or echo rims to be honest. viz rims are supposed to be quite good as well, you can get viz from www.trials-uk.co.uk
  24. a mate of mine had some they seem to be strong didnt need much trueing and seemed to spin well.
