I started on a t-mag. i cant remember having any problems with that bike Ohh actually, i bent the bashguard on it! -
The frame is very light, but my mate had one, and they are very weak! We snapped it in half by pulling the dropouts apart

Your rotor might be bent! Take your wheel out and spin it, you will be able to see if it is bent Hope this helped
