  1. Yerp good idea plate underneath would work fine :)

Maybe you should just set the back wheel up like a mod :)

    Chaintensioner - Shorter chain

Then your back wheel will be mech free :)

    Hope i have helped :)

    Ben

I'll give that a try. Cheers for the ideas, will get to work on it and hope the bank holiday monday isn't as wet as the weatherman says. SY

  2. The only two problems with water in maggies: One is that water doesn't work very well if the brake is dragged for long periods and heats up, e.g. if your doing downhilling. It will become spongy.

The other problem with it is the viscosity (thickness of the water) is less than blood oil. I found under really hard pulling of the brake it seeps out, the solution is to use steel beed cables like goodridge. but far the cheepest and most effective answer for trials riders who want quick maggies with a solid feel.

  3. Street is good to hone your skills on, and especially if your just starting. The main advantage I think of rideing street it is easier to get bigger. You then ride natural and find it's easier to do. But mix it up and because you will improve your balance and abillity to roll at objects on natural more as it's uneven and the traction for the quick pedaling is not always there.

    Hope that helps SY

  4. yep i was in the same boat as you...i was a right footed man sidehoping to my right.....was getting around the 40 inch mark......decided i had way to many bad falls on my arse ......so i started going 2 the left.......now i feel my level of riding has inproved in all ways........

i do have a tip for you to help with landing to 2 wheels instead of the front first.........

it works for me anyway hear we goeth........

once on your rear wheel hold the balance for as long as you can and jump straight up....keeping your eyes on top of the wall u wish 2 sidehop...push your arms way out in front of you just before you land.........job done 2 wheels on top of wall at the same time

    good luck hope this helps

and good luck with the sidehops dude (Y)

I have to agree with that!! I'm just learning to side hop to my back foot side. This is because when you do it to the front foot side, and miss, there's nothing but your arse to hit. The other way (as other people have posted) you can drop to the crank if it doesn't go to plan. keep hucking at it.
