That would make them slip of woulden't it
No, leave the bike for a few hours and it just evaporates, leaving the grips solidly locked in place.

I might come for the Saturday. I'll train it up Friday night but I'd need space in a car to get lifts between the spots on the day. I'll obviously chip in petrol/beer money for owner of said car. Who's got space for me?

If you're really worried about it get a centre punch and hammer that into the centre of the pin in the link you're joining. This should have the effect of flaring the end of the chain pin, making it a bit harder for it to come apart. Rohloff do a chain tool costing over £100 that is supposed to mushroom the end of the chain pins after joining, but I haven't seen any detail as to how it does this in reviews so I can't decide whether it's marketing hype or not.
Danny Mac's got this. It really is the Rolls Royce of chain tools. I didn't pay much attention to it's workings, but it does mushroom the pin heads after joining. The only downside is it weighs so much, you're likely to need a friend to help lift it...

That's super nice, but get rid of that rear tyre. It'll save you so much money in puncture repair kits and new tubes.

That was pretty sweet. You've both got good flowing styles

Alright guys, I'm heading up to see the Heinekin cup final
Don't bother with crap like that Just bring your bike instead.
On the accommodation front, have you tried university halls? Being pretty ignorant about football (or is it rugby ) I don't know exactly when in may the match is, but toward the end of the month the students leave pollock halls and they get rented out by the night to anyone who wants to stay there. It's not exactly 5 star accommodation, but it's cheap and close to the town centre.

ID policy in general. Got less than 5 hours to write a 16 page essay for uni tonight (not through bad planning, but because that's the brief for the project), so swung in past Sainsburys for a can of Red Bull to get me through the night. Got to the checkout and was asked for my driving license? WTF? Why do you even need to regulate the sale of Red Bull?! Beer I can understand, and having drugs on prescription, but Red Bull?

Ullapool is brilliant. The natural along the coastline is top notch. Video evidence here:

Yeh would you fancy meeting in oban????
I'd avoid Oban. There isn't a spectacular amount to ride there...

There's a fairly large amount of riders in Scotland. The main "groups" of us are mainly clustered around Inverness, Aberdeen, and Glasgow/Edinburgh (they're only a train ride apart so essentially count as one). Use the search tool and we'll all appear. I'm not so sure about your end of the woods and Fort William/Augustus, but there are a few. Most of us travel around and try to meet up for group rides as often as possible, so keep an eye on rides/locations for any plans.

I built myself a shiny new inspired.

Great video - had a nice atmosphere. Can we get a translation of what the scally in the shorts was saying?!

I've been forced into involuntary hibernation by uni. I just live in the library.

Don't worry. We don't all spend our time performing sex acts on fruit. Thats just Ross.

AC/DC is all you need to be hearing...

Rock greens. So so so sticky. Best pad I've ever used and have performed brilliantly on my stock and 24. They're designed for smooth rims as well, as opposed to all the other pads people seem to be reccomending.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so. Can't you just order it from Tartybikes?

Yeh, I'll be through to Glasgow on Sunday as long as the weather holds out. Can't wait for summer to come - I never get to ride at the minute because of uni and it's beginning to really piss me off.
