  1. Yes they are reliable for delivery, and aren't too bad on reliability, although it can be a bit of a s**t if you need to contact them in a hurry, because it seems to take them a short while to answer their phones... Other than that they are great and I would definately deal with them again, they are cheap and affordable, and best off they do free delivery!! John
  2. New vid of me riding my Echo, Please excuse the fact some of the clips show me "not" wearing a helmet... I apologise for this! Anyway, here's the link, so get watching!! Tell me what you think Cheers John
  3. Heres my history into the sport: Was bored one day at school in my lunch break and noticed some rather odd bikes parked in the bike racks. I walked over and began checking out the rather odd, seatless bikes hoping that I would be able to figure out what it was for, but failed. The lads who owned the bikes noticed me looking at their bikes and came over to see what I was doing, I asked them what they were for and they started pulling off some odd hopping moves (simple skip hop), I was amazed on how they could do that on a bike. They told me that it was called bike trials and that I should get a bike so I could ride with them. After that, I purchased a few bits for my 26" Saracen X-Cell Jump/Trail bike. I rode that for like 6 months to just get used to the basics and after purchased an Onza T-Vee (embarrasement) but it was this bike that lasted me a year of progression untill early 2005 when I snapped it in half (fun fun). After the incident I bought an Onza T-Pro which I rode very well untill October 05 when I bought my Echo Team Frame... This frame has seen alot since then and a hell of a lot of modification and hard riding recently as I have been going rather large, unfortunately she is out of working order at the moment as I have no thread in my brake mounts... GU Typhoon soon to be at the end of this month!! Yay!! So will have my Echo Team frame up for sale in a few weeks... £80ono for anyone who would be interested in the sexy beast?? If you would be interested, contact me on MSN at call_the_police@hotmail.co.uk Cheers John Boy
  4. Alright Chris! As you know I've had my (bright pink) Gusset Slim Jim's for quite some time now. They do feel very nice to stand on but i wouldn't take it any further than that. Even though they have sealled bearings, there is only one bearing in each pedal, the other side is floating on a heap of grease (not good to be honest) which puts s**t loads of strain on the bearings, making them fall apart quicker, also the pins come loose very easily and drop out with the smallest of knocks (hence the reason why they give you a huge supply of spare pins in the box). ALTHOUGH... You are a smooth rider, and you won't be doing anything too big, so if you like them, get 'em, but I reckon you should browse the net a bit more first! John (soon to be GU rider)
  5. What made you start Bike Trials, and what was it like for you when you started? John
  6. Just wondering what the best value rims are at the moment. I've been using an 07 Echo rim for just over 6 months now and hundreds of stress marks are appearing, so guessing it's on its way out like my last one! I'm planning on getting a new rim very soon and I'm trying to decide on whether i should get a Try-All or another Echo 07 ? Tell me what you think!!
  7. Cheers for all the awesome replies lads, hopefully in the summer once I've got some cash saved up I'll be able to ride in the UK Would be good if some of us could catch up and ride some of your local hot spots? John
  8. ^^^ Spot The D**k Head!! ^^^ Haha... UCI loving it!!
  9. Hi, I just thought I'd ask if any of you riders out there would be up for coming over to Jersey in the summer holidays for some riding sessions? If you'd be up for it, leave you MSN address etc below and I'll get back to you! Cheers John
  10. Yeah I know what you mean... I have a helmet at home, it's just someone I was riding with recently managed to drop a brick on my £80 Giro Xen and cave in the back of it!! Better safe than sorry and I shall make sure that when I have enough money I shall purchase a new one!! God help them if I find out who it was which broke it!! Haha!! John
  11. Most of the clips you'll have seen in my last video I posted, but this one has been done properly and not just slammed together when I've been bored! The riding has been filmed, mainly around Jersey's town centre as this is close to my home, although there are some snippets from other parishes! Hope you enjoy... Heres the link: Cheers John
  12. Yeah sure mate, go ahead, I'd be honoured John
  13. I called it memories, due to the fact that very soon I shall be getting a new Gu Typhoon frame. And because of the relaxed/chill out style of music, I thought it would fit in well with the video. Also most of the clips were filmed before I'd busted my brake mounts and kinda put me off of going big!! John
  14. Here's the link... Hope you enjoy: Cheers John
  15. When I first learnt to skip hop, which was like just over 3 years ago. My mates used to say, "look all you have to do is just pull up and kick and then once your on back wheel just slightly lower the front and kick agen... but make sure you use your brake". I tried what they said and after like 15 minutes of trying them I was off down the road on my back wheel... I know it sounds rather stupid but it was what got me as good as I am now! John
  16. Take a look on http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=64 you'll find some great named frames for awesome prices!! And because it's TartyBikes you get a free Tee!! John
  17. Well... My Favourite ride spots are anywhere with a decent wall setup or boulders... so basically that means anywhere and everywhere... where theres a wall theres a way!!
  18. Im currently thinking about buying one of the new GU Typhoon 20", but before I go ahead with it, I wanted to get some views from various people about what they think of the frame?
  19. Just wondering what everyones favourite ride locations are; wether its natural trials or street, feel free to list them all!!
  20. Well, I've been riding for a good three years now, and have been running about 16 - 20psi in my rear tyre... feels nice and soft but not too soft that you rim everything in sight but just the right amount to give you pleanty of floatatious pre-load!!
  21. Hi I just thought I'd post this one up to let everyone know that there is going to be loads of Trials Riders heading over to Guernsey between the 7th and 9th of May for the 2007 LibJam as there is a large selection of different events happening there!! Check out this site for more details on the event! http://www.libjam.com Hope to see loads of you there!! John
  22. Is it an ISIS your running or taper? Some ISIS BB's can be a right pain when it comes to running a front freewheel... I have a 128mm BB axle on my Echo Team and the freewheel is still pretty much sitting up tight on my bb casing!! Might be worth measuring your BB housing on the frame just incase!
  23. Basebikes, from what I've heard aren't really all that strong... but like any bike for around that price range, they can take a good beating!! Reading through some posts this afternoon I noticed that Damon Watson is selling his Adamant frame for a very reasonable price, so If you'd be interested in purchasing one of these, then give him a shout before it goes!! John
  24. Yeah, as "Ruption0" said earlier, water doesn't do the brakes any good. It causes the inside of the callipers to erode slighly and also doesnt really do the seals any good, so best use proper mineral oil. John
