  1. Why does Sean run a full cassette when he's got the mech locked out and running it singlespeed?...

No idea Dave, I have given him spacers to run just a single cog.he is going to get round to doing it one day but it is Sean we are talking about.

    Comments welcome.

  3. Joys of being so good and so smooth Dave, you have never fallen off or hit anything hard enuff to brake your bike in all the times I have riden with you. The frames are so strong like BMX frames being as smooth as you are, if you keep that set up I do believe it would out live you.

  4. Maybe he means the SL before they randomly decided to change the name to TR for no reason apart from confusing people? Who knows.

    Anyway:

We get so many freewheels back that are absolutely fine but get returned because they 'rattle'. This is absolutely normal. It isn't nothing to worry about.

If you've ridden in the wet since you got your freewheel and you haven't lubed it, it could just be that there's a little rust forming on the springs/pawls which would lead to it not quite engaging properly. We've had one or two back because of this (one was caused by someone washing their bike after every ride but not lubing anything up, so it was just rusty as hell inside).

Well I rode it today, not hard just small gentle things. It ran fine but from time to time when it get to 11oclock (on a clock face) it seamed to grind to about 9oclock then its fine again.a few rotations along and it goes again. I'm stumped lol

  5. No rattling could mean it has one too many bearings, they have a rattling sound as it it's missing a bearing but adding one in (which looks to be perfect) causes them to lockup

To be completely fair, I didn't shake it around and listen out for anything as I didn't know about it, but there could have been a slight rattle. I guess it will take time to bed in. I hope!

  6. I was told by mates to leave it and not put anything in it as it makes it slip loads.nothing on the outside and there was no sounds of rattles at all.only rode it round in circles that's why I thought It may just need bedding in.

  7. Sorry to do the same as alot of people on here but never seen or heard of this issue, I put on a new echo sl freewheel last night (the chain isn't really tight but tight enuff and chain is running straight)

The problem I'm having is as I'm coasting along the freewheel from time to time is trying to engage rather than just coast along, what are the reasons for this???

Does it need bedding in where its new??

Also thing there should b a main freewheel topic, save all the questions being about freewheels.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  8. IV taken then calliper apart cleaned it all as the pads where not retracting. Put it all back, went to bleed it all and I couldn't take the top cap off the leaver. The correct size Allen key just wouldn't work (iv had it off before)

Any way it can be kinda bled from just the bottom...more than likely not but no harm in asking.

Has any one else had this problem.

    Thanks.

    Stuart

  9. Bike looks awesome! but one sugestion, raise your levers up, it will make many moves alot easier as you fingers won't be trying to reach around to find the levers all the time, I have seen low levers, but yours are abit crazy!

    Adam

I moved them when we went out riding on Tuesday night, rode Friday evening and they were back down lol. Guess that's how he likes them.
