  2. im doing a carpentry apprenticship £180 a week not bad, with a big maintenance firm mind you, a few of my college mates are getting from £80 a week up to £180 so it varys on where you work i think. as for engineering another friend of mine struck lucky and got one on the railways he does one day a week college and 4 days at work and brings home £250 a week he's only 17. the bigger the employer the better. and make sure you get a contract of employment cos they can screw you for working hours and wages without one.
  3. i can get my 24" in the back with ease but i usaly just stick it on the roof on the bike rack and get a mod in the back that things like the tardis tiny outside huge inside i'll get some pics of it when its loaded with bikes
  4. got myself a jimny a few weeks ago still a work in progress currently got 2" spring spacers and awaiting 195/80 kingpin tyres and safari snorkle cant afford to go all out with suspension lifts and body lifts YET! when im paying £2350 a year insurance on it but i will get there slowly its got alot to live up to seeing as my old sj was abit of a monster so yeah here's a pic of it, its very clean atm too clean lol cant wait to take it out for a proper run
  5. the bike is exactly the same now as it is there only it has a maggy on the back now and a brand new pro 2 same colour just brand new and unused

  12. wheeeyyyyy keep them coming i need the biggest brake arms people
  13. yeah iv been looking at them but cant find sizes thats why iv asked for people on here to help me out by measuring theirs i just need one measurment the make and the model come on people
  14. ultimates are too short iv already tryed them out by looking around im guessing shimano v-brakes even though everyone slates them there pretty long IMO the SD5 i have atm holds just aswell as my friends ultimates when set up nice which is 99% of the time i just need some long brake arms even if there sh*t i can make them work well
  15. its not the width of the tire its rubbing on its the height of the tire its rubbing on the actual cable as it runs over the top of the tire to the other brake arm i dont have 4 bolt adapters its straight up vbrake mounts on my frame ALL I WANT IS FOR SOME BRAKE ARM SIZES !!!
  16. the wheel is fine the chain is fine if i shorten the chain the wheel comes futher forward then the tire rubs on the brake cable hence me needing longer brake arms for clearence over the tire
  17. right heres the deal i have a v-brake echo lite 06 and im running an avid SD5 on the rear it also rubs on the tire if the wheel is not set right and it sits almost out of the dropouts on the frame so im looking for a rear v-brake with long arms so if u could all measure ur v-brakes for me i would like the make model and size please people wether it be avid or shimano im simply looking for the longest brake arms avaliable so get measuring didnt think this worth of its own topic in trials chat so stuck it in here check the pic for were i want measured if unsure
  18. friday afternoon im up for that just built up my new echo wont be able to ride it hard as it needs snail cams to keep the wheel in but ill still show my face
  19. The actual frame rode realy nice it was pretty long yet flicky, fairly light and easy to chuck about and it came with vee brake mounts i wouldnt advise buying the full build, whole bunch of wank parts the forks cracked within 3 weeks striped the pedal thread in the cranks cracked the stem bent the bars on landing. it came with tektro brakes which were replaced striaght away although the wheels wernt bad alex DX32 rims built on quando hubs(there pretty sweet if you look after them) and the frame snapped cracked in 6 months got it pro welded and it lasted another 8 months under some pretty harsh riding im not the smoothest thing on two wheels but i get the job done I realy would like another 20"ashton so if anyone knows anyone who has one tell them to get in contact with me.
  20. sorry for out doing you on the injury dude but to be honest yours probs hurt more i didnt realy feel mine was in shock i just sat on the curb holding my arm and burst out larfing weird i know lol and trust me i know what a hockey stick can do to people i broke a guys shin playing at school lol im sure it was painfull
  21. Seriously i have no fears about doing huge drop gaps and what not but i have this annoying little piece of me that hates curbs now lol. i'll try get some pictures up of the scar i have it runs pretty much the full lengh of my arm great conversation starter with the ladies though I also have no funny bone now as it was taken off to fit the metal plate you can see it and feel it through the skin too its nasty. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ALL OF YOU THAT LIKE TO PLAY ON CURBS
  22. As far as riding injurys go i have had my fair share Amongest countless broken fingers and toes last year i broke my elbow in half when my back brake snapped riding off a curb. The specialists at the hospital siad i must have hit it at 60mph+. Ended up having 6 hours of surgery a metal plate and 6 screw in my arm loads of staples to hold the skin together and a nasty scar it healed and i was back on my bike within 2 months but my arm has never been able to go straight since. 5 months after that misshap i failed a tap up to an anchor outside a local museum and jumped back and my foot folded inside my leg my fibula touched the floor it broke my fibula and my lateral malleolus unfortunatly the pictures of my ankle break are on my laptop but i have the xrays from my arm and some of the staples. ENJOY!!
