  1. ohhhhh... i suppose that explains why a lot of zoo and echo stuff come in the same colours and don't look that unsimilar
  2. this is driving me crazy DENG is it a name or just a word either way, what does it mean/refer to?
  3. i've seen one of those before ona picture my mate sent me on a bike called a switchblade that's all i know about em. I figure... if you want extra braking power, couldn't you just connect a hs33 and a hydro disc to the same lever? lol
  4. that's genious companies should actually start making them The spring gives you additional height when you hop, and would save your wheel I'd ride one! Someone make one for me please =)
  5. After reading the echo 06 rim topic, and seeing the pictures i'm a bit skeptical of echo rims. What rims do people recommend? because it's my intention to get some proper trials wheels built. So far i've looked at echo 07's, and try-alls. I'm looking mostly at strength, obviously, because the stronger, the less need to replace! But i'd also like to make my bike look nice. If i were to buy try-alls, it would be a red one on the front, and mirror on the back, of a t-rex =) and echo 07's, red and gold. Anyway, try-alls or echo 07's? or even another brand? Thanks
  6. Where was it shot? Wherever it was, I wanna go! EDIT: Sorry, shot in the same place as the other video, isn't it...
  7. dude, that looks fun. Nice one I wish there was stuff like that near where I live, but the closest is derbyshire, that's 1hr+ by car, and not by bike with trials ratio, lol Now that's why you ride 26" =)
  8. Wow, the amount of posts already is immense! Well, it's not me who thinks its dying, be sure of that. I think that, like most activities nwadays its evolving, as people have said, new skills have emerged and slowly the term 'trials fundamental' has gone from meaning good balance and getting up stuff to stuff like pedalkicks, backwheel moves and even front-wheel moves Trials i think is the best type of bike sport because, yes it takes a long time to learn (and I'm only slightly on the way) but the reward is true mastery of your bike. Adrenalin sports like downhill teach people how to hurtle down the side of mountains without dying (much), which is a rush, because I've tried it. But who could say that being able to turn any object in town or countryside into something to use is not both cool and a credit to the rider? I think my mate may have only been saying it's dying because of the sheer outnumbering of trials riders to other bike sports, particularly bmx and downhill. In fact, i know someone myself who defected to bmx, and i'm trying to turn him back =) Long live trials
  9. my mate described trials as a dying sport... perhaps its because younger generations are more into sports that give them adrenaline rushes or maybe its because trials takes such a long time to master? What do you guys reckon?
  10. forget stem on my former handsomedog, because the spider was bent, the chain would come off under high speeds or pressure. And the poor sods who designed it made sure to put the CABLE GUIDES in range of your knee. I managed to crack my knee on them about 8 times in one riding session.
  11. no-one recommends notts! notts is great for trials, a lot of stuff to do near the middle of town, but some of the best spots are further out Good spots include: > new market square! a godsend for trials, especially if you're relatively new (watch the pretend pigs (community support officers lol)) > Notts trent uni: 2nd best place in centre of town, northish from the market square > Curry's: Outside curry's in the retail park are a number of squares to hop between, and a 2ft-ish ledge > Notts Uni: called 'Uni' by most, there is EVERYTHING here, so long as you can find it. Watch out for the security though (ah, the memories, lol) Plus, I recommend notts because I'm too lazy to ride further away, and no-one with a car rides trials, and vice versa. =)
  12. that vario styx is nice I used to ride a handsomedog rockhound until a couple of days ago when i rendered it useless trying to replace the BB. I look forward to next month when I'm going to buy a t-rex frame! My first real trials bike
  13. Hi, I'm new, like... Erm, so far I've seen about 8 trials riders in nottingham. I'm sure there's more, after all, it's the home of supercycles It'd be nice to meet more riders around my age, especially because you learn better if there's someone to show you how to do it
