  1. Iv got a onza limey and with the bottom bracket thats in it now the cranks and chain ring are incredibly close to the frame and the crank arms pretty much skim the maggies on the back which are all the way in im gettin a new rim put on as the 1 i have isnt wide enough for the brake, so the cranks would hit the maggies on the way round, what size bottom bracket should i be using? im using a 73x118 shimano un53 Vee p.s. sorry if this is bad sentancing etc im really tired and its 3:37 in the morning and iv just finished work! argh

  6. HI, Just need abit of help with gearing, I use to ride 22t up front and 16t on rear Iv just changed to a 18t on the rear and its made loads of difference to ride, makes the bike feel so much lighter and responsive Th only thing is I will be getting some new cranks and i think the biggest chainring I can get on them is 16t what would i need on the back to get the same ratio as I have now? Any help is much appreciated Thanks Vee
  7. Thats the frameset I was going to get, after my friend had said about it and that they are really nice to ride. I ended up getting a limey and fatty-r forks so i didnt get it, looks good though and have heard some good stuff about them Good Luck with the decision! Vee
  8. Personally i think you are wrong with this, most people would run a front disc because they modulate alot better than a rim brake. if u want to stop dead, you wont beat a rim brake. It is impossible for a disc to out perform a rim brake when they are both set-up properly and clean. Discs are mainl used because its in the middle of the wheel and dont get as dirty, meaning they perform alot longer than a rim brake, but if you keep your rims and brakes clean and setup properly, a rim brake will perform better. The only thing a disc brake has an advantage is holding power Once the wheel has stopped the disc will hold alot better because of the pads, and no flex like you would in a frame so its solid once its stopped. I would recommend front disc and a rear hs33 I am using both hs33 and thats the way its staying on mine, thats how i like it It's all down to personal preference. Vee

  15. Hi Everyone, Im Vee I am new on this forum but have seen alot of good things from it, I just thought i would write a quick guide for some of the beginner riders out there that want a sort of bump start, which should help them improve alot quicker (well it helped me! haha) The trackstand, i had a few problems learning this and what i found best was to find a slight uphill slant to practise on, or even a curb works really well. You should try to keep your shoulders square over the handlebars which is where a few people go wrong. Backwheel control, this was my main problem when starting out so i hope this helps abit. When You're learning to pedal hop, instead of just trying to hop forward as many times as you can. Try and do a few pedal hops and then a few backwheel hops (static) and then a few more pedal hops. Gradually you will be able to make different combinations of this sort of thing and you will mainly have alot better control over the backwheel than i did when i first started. Beginner Hopefully these few tips would help some of the riders that are just starting out in trials Goodluck to all of them!! Vee p.s. If there are any other tips people would like to add please do so, or if anyone needs any help with trials just say the word.
