  1. good stuff. Ive never really been to ramsgate. I know peeps like to use pencester (sp?) in dover. Or dover in general really. Im from sittingbourne. Don't feel confident enough to ride anywhere im gonna be seen lol. The bike and my severe lack of skills equally contribute to that. Might go try some stuff up at sainsbury. Nice little set of steps and a few benches to do some stuff on.
  2. Im a noob and would like to join some peeps out and about to gain some tips and get to know the local peeps. Im Andy. Im 19, Im from sittingbourne. I ride a heap of crap that doesnt help me learn anything and im that much a noob that i cant do anything but track stand and wheelie. Get posting..
  3. kcchan, see your in kent, where abouts, where you ride?
  4. Mint, exactly what i was looking for, thank you very much.
  5. was looking for a bit more detail than that, but cheers for the help.
  6. Yes, a drawing with all the relevant measurements. I cant see how someone didn't pick up on that,
  7. So no ones willing to measure their bike and then just add all the details to a picture of the same bike? I'm not asking for the impossible or a top secret document. "so your looking for a blueprint drawing with headanlge, chainstay lengths, bb rise, top tube length, ect ect?" that would be the one yes.
  8. I want to build one and would like a reference as apposed to diving in blind and making a waste of a good £90 worth of tubing.
  9. I want a picture of a widely known frame, and could someone mark all the internal angles on it, and lengths may come in handy as well. I guess what i after is a "working" drawing. Blue print almost.
  10. I can understand the website perfectly. Just pointing out that i find bullet points a more affective way of explaining something, and that the explanations provided may be bettered if they were laid out in bullet points with slightly more detail. Why is everyone shittin on me for pointing that out.
  11. Could someone supply me with a picture of a stock frame with all the angles marked on it?
  12. cheers for kind of backing me up there. No need to gang up on me, just pointing out something i think may of hindered some of the younger, or less skilled riders.
  13. Not that blunt. something like.... the track stand 1. Find a slight gradient or as flat a surface as possible 2. Ride slowly into the gradient at a 45 degree angle, or if on flat ground, apply and hold the brakes 3. When you find the point where the bike comes to a stop, gently adjust pressure on your forward foot to stop yourself rolling backwards. The aim is to get the bike to stay in one place. Keep yourself as centered and upright as possible. If you find yourself leaning in one direction, turn the handle bars into the opposite direction to stabilize yourself. If on flat ground, keep your brakes locked and follow the same rules as above. I find that when its set out in bullet points, it is easier to define each step of the move. A paragraph tends to lend itself to a compound thought and this is where the confusion comes in. The rider tried to fulfill all the criteria mentioned in one go and fails to progress with that move.
  14. Im not trying to be harsh or say that what they have done is a complete waste of time. Im just pointing out that i find some of the explanations to be not as clear as they could be. I will post the chap an email and see what he says. I didn't mean to cause a ruckus or to insult anyone. Maybe its my newbness to riding that is confusing me.
  15. Every body bashes on about how trashzen is a really help full site. Sure, it explains stuff, but there is a lot of reading to do, and quiet often it can be confusing. I've tried re-writing some of their explanations into bullet points and find them far easier to understand instead of long paragraphs. Is there a glossary of terms and such that i could grab a link to. I will try and set up a simple little web site with explanations in as much detail as i can muster. I just feel all of the sites I've come across don't really explain concisely enough what to do for each move, and sometimes it can be confusing when they mention "bend your legs to pre-load, then extend your legs to spring back". Seems a good enough explanation, but they fail to mention that you then have to re-tract your knees to allow the bike to move anywhere. If you feel the same about some of these sites and their explanations, please comment here and add some suggestions to how certain things could be improved. P.S THIS IS MAINLY FOR BRAND NEW RIDERS, I CANT SEE THIS AS BEING USE FULL TO THOSE WHO CAN ALREADY RIDE.
  16. Id put it down mainly to the front end being amazingly heavy. The bike weighs 14.5 kg is is pretty front heavy. Im gonna loose the saddle and hack the top of the post off. He didnt have a seat post that fitted properly so he hammered in one that barely fitted. So rigid forks, chain tensioner instead of mech, and i might use my welding experience to drop the down tube and lower the top tube of the rear section, then make the main post shorter so its just below the top of the tire. Lot of work but hell, i didnt get a qualification for nothing.
  17. If youve ever seen the kind of bike ryan leech rides, its like that. Pictures coming in 10 mins.
  18. So i bought my bike last week, and i havnt made any progress what so ever. Mainly because i dont think im spending enough time on the bike, but i think i have some other issues as well. My bike is a bit of crap, its a stock bike, running 21/18, standard mech, discs on front and rear, bulky suspension front end with tripple tree set up and rather unpleasent borken sadle lol. If anyone can give me a few pointers like... What to learn first, how to progress naturally, common mistakes i can go about avoiding and such, then that would be a great help. I'll stick a few pics up of the bike if anyone asks for them, cheers in advance.
