Don't know if this helps, but.... I rock climb, and forearm pump is something you get every time. As soon as you get it you lose all the strength in your fingers. I've wouldn't describe it as a numbness though. In 7 years of climbing I've never not had it. It takes a lot longer to get now! Just keep excercising it and it'll take longer to get. Have a look at some climbing sites for ideas on excercises, or better still - climb!
  2. Eyup matey! I'm new to this too, and am up to a massive 2 or 3 hops now! To stop it comin down, lean back a bit more!. I was told that whatever you're not used too (i.e. falling off the back!) go out and do. It works I think. For 5 mins or so just pull the front up and fall off the back. When that sort of feels ok, then try hopping again. Worked for me anyway. Good luck!
  3. Been looking at these on youtube. Straightforward and informative, and there's quite a few of em! Just need some good weather now so I can go and practice!!
  4. Wow! Cheers for that, just had a look on youtube. That guy is from another planet!
  5. New to all this and been looking at Trashzen trying to pick up stuff from their vids. These are really helpful but I was wondering if there are any decent dvd's that you guys would recommend that would also help us new un's turn from zero's to hero's!!!
  6. I've been struggling a bit with this too. Can do two or three hops most times but can't seem to get any more. Keep bangin me knees on the bar too! Will it make it a lot easier if I practice levelling the pedals out after the first hop?
  7. Geat! So is it worth persevering with this bike or should I sell it on and try something else?? Don't see the point in wasting hours of practice if I'd learn much quicker on another bike. Bear in mind I'm skint though!
  8. Thanks for the replies. This is the bike; http://public.fotki.com/g-rex/trials/forweb.html
  9. Ok. Firstly I.m completely new to all this so go easy on me! Been riding mtb's for a few years now. Can trackstand for ages so my balance isn't too bad. A friend of a friend had a trials bike he never used so offered him a few quid and bought it off him. I know its not a brilliant bike but thought it'd be ok to try and learn on. It's a Diamondback (stock 26" wheels, hydraulic rim brakes) My problem is, is that I find it easier to balance on my mtb than I do this. The bars seem far too low for me (I'm 6"2) and I wondered if it would be easier to learn on if I raised the bars a way?? Any advice appreciated. rex
