  1. Does anyone know of any good IRC channels for Mountain biking and the server they run on? Just, I seem to be spending lots of time on IRC, and was on the lookout for good channels for biking. Found none yet though.
  2. To be honest mate, the fact that in your mind you want to come back home (I'm Irish too) might be the source of the problem between ye. I mean, she might be getting a vibe that something is wrong, when really, it's only that you want to return home again. Just say it, see what happens. If it all blows up, give it a couple of days to calm down and ask her rationally what she thinks. If she doesn't lose her temper and still says no, as basher said, think about it really. What's more important?
  3. I'd say risers. I've run truvativ risers on my street bike. But it is really about the feel. On a short frame it tends to feel nice with risers personally. I'd say go risers on a street rig myself. It gives you a slightly better ability to pop it onto the rear wheel.
  4. Hijacked! Why start a new thread when I can use someone else's after they are done? Anyway, name's Eoghan. Been riding Free-ride and street for years (about 7). Decided I'd try trials for the craic. Getting me a long Echo pure second hand, 26" bike, schweat ass rig. Roll on January, when I have cash money! Based in Limerick, Ireland at the moment. Might find myself in Glasgow over the summer, in which case I'll be using this forum more often. Nice job on the help sections lads. Been reading back through them and I've learned quite a bit. Always wondered about long vs short trials frames. Now I know. happy times! Anyway. Good job, hope I can help while I'm here too. Eoghan
  5. I'm looking at a couple of parts to get my jump/street rig back and running. And a good book. Problem is, I'll probably get given out to for spending all my money in one shop. My parents tend to disagree that Tech Manuals\Books on bike maintenance are really the sort of books I should be spendin my christmas money on. I think they're expecting novels or something.
  6. Well, I'm just starting trials at 22. If you'll pardon the pun, "It's just like riding a bike". Trials is one of those sports where you don't have to run big risks either. I mean, if you were talking of getting back into freeride, might be health and safety risk there. Trials, not so much, unless you fancy yourself as another Danny Mac
  7. I'm gonna go against the grain here. I mean, hardcore is fine and dandy at a house party, but your mind has to be in the right place to ride properly. I like Gomez or other laid-back music. Trip-hop, like Tricky can be good too. It's hard bass beats at a slow bpm. Nice.
