  1. Rick rides a Hoffman frame with Trialtech running gear.
  2. Pretty harsh Mike. I guess if you knew some of his background maybe he isn't so much of a twat as you put it. Morgan is my son and he was riding the World titles and the World Cup event to get some experience at that level so that he has a better idea of what to train for in the future. He's been riding for a total of four and a half years, competing for two yearsand hopes to go to Europe in 2011 and spend a few months there riding as many events as he can. Unfortunately he had a pretty nasty training crash 3 weeks before competing. Apart from driving one side of his face into a rock and getting knocked out he compressed two bones [internal bleeding in the bone] in his left wrist as well as getting a hairline fracture in his left elbow. With care we managed the injuries and they got no worse. He managed to qualify for the semi's in NZ so he didn't do too bad concidering I've seen plenty of pics of Benito, Caisso and the like doing similar dabs .... where do you think he learned it from. What makes trials gay is people like yourself making these comments. If you are a world level rider I guess you are qualified to make these types of remarks. Watched some of your youtube vids though Mike and like the comment said .....not bad nothing amazing
  3. http://www.vimeo.com/7020692 Bit long but there was some good riding in the warm ups, so I added that as well.
  4. 26 inch http://www.vimeo.com/6876750 20 inch http://www.vimeo.com/6848793 Bit of vid we tool while we were down there. I was pretty busy running around after Morg and J9 so didn't get as much as I'd have like. First time I've got to see the top riders in the flesh and was stunned at how much power they can generate. Andre Burton and Rick Koekoek came to Bris and rode with Morg and J9 for a few days. The power and bottomless pit of energy is amazing, top blokes to hang with as well .... plenty of laughs! Carles is simply amazing to watch and so was Kenny. It goes with out saying the Benito is very very special. Really impressed with young spanish riders Ion Areitio Aguirre , Abel Mustieles Garcia and Rafael Tibau (who's only been riding a handfull of years!)
  5. Morg just has really flexible fingers... Vid of Morg riding - http://www.vimeo.com/3845568 Vid of J9 riding - http://www.vimeo.com/3865116
  6. Krystle Wright, a photographer/journalist, came up from Sydney to interview J9 for a MTB mag and she took some pics of J9 and Morg. Some were pretty bloody good and I thought I'd share.... Cam All picture taken by Krystle Wright @ www.wrightfoto.com

    J9 - March 2009

Hey Patricio! How are you? Happy birthday for the other day man... hope you had a good one. Yeah... your star pupils! You had a huge influence on the way they ride. You're still the bench mark when they train! Your intensity and variation of lines was always first class and Morg still looks at stuff and says "wonder if Pat could get up there?" hahahaha We watch for your vids! You look pretty bloody good in the last couple... think you're a long way from "losin' it!" I know they really miss training with you. Maybe one day you'll be back ? ...

    J9 - March 2009

Yeah... but I don't think it is just because the frame is so thin. It has cracked a on both sides where the top down tube is welded to the to rear stays. I think it's cause by the longer lever (4 finger Magura) we fitted. She wanted a bit more power from the brakes. She has a pretty good booster but I think the extra leverage is forcing the frame apart. Just recently it has also cracked where the rear brake mounts lugs are welded to the frame. Although it did surprised us when we noticed cracks on the top weld both sides of the bottom bracket. Usual problem with welding... localized heating. We don't re-heat treat afterwards so it will always crack again. We'll just keep weldin' the old girl up to keep her going hahahaha. She has a new XTP sitting in the garage at home but we are saving it till a couple of months before the Worlds. The Monty with the buggered forks is Morg's bike. He's gone through about 3 sets of forks on that bike. Normally they come apart at the bottom bearing mount but this time he just sheared off the top of the stem above the top bearing! Probably from practicing front wheel moves over and over. Really luck not to get seriously hurt as it happened about 5 minutes after the very first move (front wheel move) in his new vid. http://www.vimeo.com/3845568 That could have been real nasty!. Same deal for the Monty. Been welded a couple of times, but he has a new one sitting down stairs in the garage .... waiting. It's been fantastic though. He rides three times a week every week and he's had it for about a year. Copped a flogging and keeps going.

With guys like Patricio and Morgan training her she didn't have much choice! ...She would rather be compare to the blokes, because that's how she wants to ride. btw thanks for organising the new XTP. The old one is starting to show serious signs of wear

    J9 - March 2009

http://www.vimeo.com/3865116 J9 riding at her local practice area.....natural granite in the OZ bush. Haven't put a vid up of her in quite a while. Her accuracy is getting a lot better and she's strong as. She rides with Morgan and they get in three training sessions a week. Both are doing degrees so that takes up a fair bit of training time. She's been riding just over 4 years now and is getting ready to compete in Canberra and NZ when the Worlds come out to OZ. Trials tube - http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....ils&id=1688

My lad Morgan riding around Bris-vegas. http://www.vimeo.com/3845568 He's been riding for just over 4 years now and is busting a nut to get his riding to a level that he can get through some of the sections when the Worlds come to Canberra.
  14. Some more of his riding here Youtube Video -> ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  15. We've been pretty lucky here in Queensland that Patricio came over from Columbia to stay for a year. The guy is an amazing rider to watch. He's a top bloke and spent plenty of time with Morgan and J9 helping them wtih their riding. I put together a short vid of some practice days over the last year and thought I'd share. Youtube Video -> Original Video He is going back home via Japan and will be riding the world's. Hope it goes well for him! I have wanted to muck around with a slow-mo vid for a while. Nice for checking out techniques. I know it's been done before but it turned out OK. I used some stuff from Morgan practicing. Rider Weight

After checking out the excellent TRA pics, we were wondering. Does anyone know (roughly) what Benito and/or Carles weigh?
  20. Janine is 19 and like the quote says... she is powerful. Started three years ago and lives for her riding. http://www.trialsqueens.com/Australia.html
  21. Patricio Escobar (Columbia) and Morgan D riding at Toohey Mt - Brisbane Australia. Morg has been riding for three years now and his time spent training with Patricio over the last few months has been a huge help. Thanks Pat!
  22. Some more of Janine in this new vid. The other two riders are Morgan D from Brisbane and Patricio Escobar from Columbia. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4teMQQPcvF8
  23. Some more of J9 in this one. The guy at the beginning is my son Morgan, he trains with J9. She has been riding just under 3 years. and a nice static bunnyhop
  24. Been a mechanic now for 27 years. Started out doing some British bikes but these days it's more Japanese and European.. especially 80's model BMW's. Janine and I have a 2007 DRZ400E Motards and I also have a NSR250. Morgan has a 1996 XT600 motard. We have a pair of 1996 CR125's and we also race around horse paddocks on some Z50's. So plenty of bike stuff happening!
  25. Hi, name's Cam and I'm from Brisbane Australia. I'm a motorcycle mechanic by trade and rode a fair bit of motorcycle trials in the past. My son Morgan (17) and his best mate Janine (19... some of you guys may have seen her J9 vid) both started riding biketrials about 3 years ago. Morg - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ8aq_eq5F4 J9 - A nice jump in this one... I give them a hand where I can and keep their bikes going for them. I make up the vids for a bit of fun and to keep a record of their imrpovement over time. They are both extremely dedicated to riding and like all riders, they would like to be good enough to compete at world level.... time will tell. Been reading the forum anon for a while and thought I'd join up for the occasional chat. Cam
