  1. I think MCC may be doing them next year, from what I know they're be doing it to replace what used to be the south west series. Best bet is to speak to Luke Rainbird or Rich pearson, they live in Devon and Cornwall and tend to do the comps in the area, so they may know.

But that would probably be your nearest, either that or the Hampshire bike trial club.

Thanks, just wondered if there was some sort of events calender to look at?

Just to see what was going on.

  2. Yeh man - all these 20 inch bikes... no one rode them back when i rode - full 26ers... WITH SEATS haha

Oh i remember the mods from the past, it was all old montys and megamos though. i tried to get one when i started back up but

I think the old white megamos are rare now.

Cant remember what they were called??

    I'm 24.

There's people on here in their 30's & 40's... you're only as old as you feel.

I just got toghether with an old riding pal he's now in his forties,

thought he was the oldest on here.

    Hope he dos'nt read this

  3. They are very very stiff boosters. I'd recommend a 2 bolt booster such as this

4 bolt boosters will take away a lot of the bite and noise, especially the super stiff deng ones.

I really would go and actually check for cracks... Because it will grow very quickly.

Just dismantled the bike, had a good check over it and it all seems fine. Phew!

Thanks for the heads up though will keep an eye out around that area.

I ordered the zoo booster so will try it out and let you all know how it goes.

As for noise? Not fussed on how loud it is as long as it works positively

Suerly a two bolt booster will cause uneven flex/stress on the mounts?

  6. Hello, Welcome to the forum Rob, Hope you enjoy it here and make lots of new friends :P.

Na seriously man, keep up that good spelling, punctuation and "stuff", you will be validated in no time (Y).

Don'T forget to use spell check every post, :). Oh, and one tip, don't eat yellow snow (Y).

Thanks dude, Use forums a lot for car stuff. really helpfull stuff!

I was pointed this way by an old riding mate(r2wtrials)

Some good information on here, thats what its all about though i spose

  7. Yeah, but I think everything has come very far in them 10 years! Think back to 1998, I cant even remember writing that year down at school.

Mobile phones, Bigger then a jumbo jet, no colour and battery life, well not even going there, I believe it lasted about 6 hours.

Great improvements over the years, I believe they have disposable mobile phones in china now.

Britain is behind :P. Oh, and have you heard about the bio-degradable nappies..? No..? Neither have I.

Edit: God, just read that, Don't i blabber on!

yeah sorry, im returning to trials after a long time away from the sport, am having to catch up on whats what all over again

  8. Because the old pitbulls were so stiff already, you may jeopardise your brake's performance by putting a booster on there. I know it seems weird but some brakes are made worse with the use of a booster.

I can visably see the frame flex when applying the brake so i think a booster should do the trick. i take it they all do the same job but are some better than others?

I've looked at the cheap Zoo one on Tarty bikes, Dya think it would be suitable for the job?

  9. Back i in the day we used to just ask the roadwork guys for bits of tar.

After having to explain why we wanted it we'd get massive slabs of the stuff.

Dont tend to need it these days though, I think brakes have come on a lot sinse the crappy v's we used to use 10 years ago

  10. Before anything, check your frame for cracks around the brake mounts..

2 of my '05 Pitbulls have cracked there :( Might be why its feeling a bit spongey.

I'd recommend a 2 bolt booster, 4 bolt ones tend to be too stiff. Unless you like a completely solid feel at the lever.

thanks for the heads up, think its ok though, yeah i do prefer a solid feeling lever. im returning to trials after 8 years off so im just trying to familiarise with things again
