  1. Any hints where to buy the new white Norco Moment frame that Ryan Leech is riding currently? Tried emailing all the European importers/distributors that are listed on norco.com, but none of them was of any help. Maybe some Canadian web shop could be able to ship to EU? Btw, the Moment frame doesn't seem to be on Norco's 2007 catalogue. :-/

    Mbuk

Yes, but it's harder and feels shit compared to doing the same with a short bike.
  3. has anyone tried avid juicy7 on front or rear? they have TPA screw like HS33, so it's easy to adjust pad contact point. i have juicy7's with 203mm disc on my freeride bike and they are reeeally powerful and nice.

    ./

Shortly? Tartybikes.com says that 07 Pitbull is going to arrive mid November...
  5. Since my Iolo frame order didn't work out, I bought a used Zebdi mk5 for a relatively cheap price so I would have something to ride on, and to try old school bike. I stripped off the paint and polished it (well actually brushed and applied laquer). See the result below. The wheelbase with Brisa fork is 1015, quite a contrast from my old frame (original Coustellier). I have ridden it two times and haven't quite decided whether I like it or not. My pedalups are completely lost with it, but I knew it would take a week or two to get used to. http://www.ridefree.fi/mehukatti/zebdiraw2.jpg One thing I noticed is that even drunken blokes don't comment on missing saddle anymore.
  6. Yes, the Elite ones with aluminum head tube snap VERY easily from there. For modern riding, taps and so, I would say they will kill you in a week. BUT the Brisa Pro fork which is the same design with steel steerer, is actually one of the best forks ever made, IMO. Relatively light, strong and modern CNC'd lower leg design. You can identify the Pro model by having painted, not anodized, lower legs.
  7. Tartybikes says it's 1100 Nopogo says 1090 tmshow.net says 1090 w/ old koxx fork (45 offset) and 1080 w/ new koxx fork (35 offset) my brisa forks have only 15mm offset so that would make it 1060 so it pretty much depends on the forks, but the variance seems unusually big?
  8. does anyone know whether it's one-off custom frame for chris or are there plans to sell it to public?
  9. Technical problems, enlarging his workshop and buying new equipment is what he said. Fair enough, but only if I hadn't sold my old frame (Coustellier), as I have been out of trials bike for something like a month now. Thanks to djb for clearing out the Megamo situation!
  10. I would like to get a 26" street trials frame w/ proper seat. However, it seems that they are largely becoming extinct. -planet x zebdi -- can't find any second-hand -megamo steel -- koxx uk may have some, but the frames are a bit outdated (and koxx uk isn't very responsive or active) -megamo radical -- can't find any new or second-hand - iolo -- tried this one, and even sold my old frame, but iolo cancelled my order and is returning my money and forks - curtis t26 -- this would be one of the nicest options, but a bit too expensive - norco moment -- availability sucks and the geometry is shit with rigid fork - pashley 26ghz -- only miniseat - echo pure -- would be nice can't find any new or second-hand - yaabaa mururoa -- ugly color and a bit outdated geo even for street trials frame Any suggestions or other frames that come to mind? And btw, I live in Finland so it's a bit tricky buying from individuals abroad. Or maybe I should just accept that 26" street is dead and switch to either BMX or continue riding trials with a modern bike?

    Koxx Uk

Does anyone know if Koxx UK is on holiday or something? I have sent them emails and PM, but got no reply. Wonder when they will be back at business?
  12. What bike is Chris Akrigg riding in Trial Noir dvd? What frame and geo? Stem length? Rims?
  13. i pretty much thought the same thing. few nice balance lines like the fence and dropping to railway trail, but most of the stuff was really basic like some manuals to a curb. i wonder if it is the editing guys leaving out the best stuff or is leech loosing it? to me, chris akrigg in the new trial noir vid represents what tech street riding should be, and the riding is also big.
  14. very nice! it looks simple and light.
  15. What did you think of Ryan Leech's segment in Roam?
  16. I want to strip the colour off from my Middleburn Pro Trials bashring. I first thought nitromors, but I think the colour is anodized. Would some kind of acid do the job instead?
  17. has anyone tried raceface diabolus dh handlebars? race face diabolus dh: 28" width - 9deg rearward sweep - 4deg upward sweel azonic double wall 28" width - 8deg rearward sweep - X upward sweep (probably about the same as race face) so they are pretty much identical, except diabolus is about 80g heavier.
  18. highres link fixed. that is size Medium and pretty much stock. i have only changed grips and blue spring in the fox36 to green one. with the blue one the fork bottomed out on almost every drop (my weight is ~85kg). the Finnish price for that bike is 3900e (£2650) and they won't give any discount. that is why most people in Finland order their Specialized rigs from Stenger-Bike in Germany. I got it 800e (£550) cheaper compared to Finnish price which is quite a nice saving, imo. the bike is actually _very_ flickable once you get used to it while still being burly enough for going bigger than you even have balls for. darren berrecloth rode same bike (well except for Manitou suspension) to several top finishes in slopestyle comps last year. i wouldn't buy size Small unless you're really short. Btw, the weight of that Medium size bike is 17.4kg (38.3lbs). If you are interested, there is also a cheaper alternative, SX Trail I, which has lower spec suspension and parts. You should also know that Specialized is introducing Demo7 for 2007, which is also targeted for the "single crown lighter weight" freeride department. See NSMB.com for more info. I don't know if SX Trails are gonna be around in 2007, but rest of the Enduro line will certainly be, since I think this new design was just introduced last year? 19. Does anyone know a web shop in EU, that sells Alex rims in clear/silver color? For some strange reason, the finnish importer has only black ones.
  20. if it's a street bike, then why on earth: - put downhill tyres on it instead of street tyres such as holy roller, arrow launch, etc. - why put a fork with that much suspension, 80mm is best for street - why such a big rotors, totally unnecessary to me that looks like a freeride hardtail.
  21. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/799754/ http://www.singletrackworld.com/mod/submit/images/1940-6.jpg http://www.singletrackworld.com/mod/submit/images/1940-1.jpg will the new avid juicy ultimates be THE disc brake for trials, and perhaps push forward the acceptance of rear disc?
  22. I started going to gym last fall so I've been training there for about half a year now. My main objective was to get more strength and most importantly explosive strength to legs. I have had a personal trainer make me a few programs by then. I must say that I have noticed a BIG difference. I'm a lot more powerful rider now and can jump higher. Before I was pretty much stopped at certain level due to my muscle ability, but I have definately improved in that now. I'm also aware about plyometrics and have read about it, but for some reason it felt more natural for me to go to gym.
  23. I don't see much growth for trials in future, the reason being that traditional street trials with short bikes has become a niche segment and people that were interested in that are switching to mtb street and bmx riding. testament to this being that there really are not much street specific trials frames available anymore and curtis/leeson pretty much ignore the non-UK market. on the other hand these uci style long and low trials bikes are becoming more and more freak machines with elevated BB's etc. and people don't think them as bicycles anymore. and it's really painful to ride any distances with them, making a car almost necessity to get into spots that are more far away.
