What year frame was it?

Just received it now, Weather is absolutely tipping it down, so I haven't had the chance to have ago. The Wheel I had built up was with a 26" Trial tech square holed rim, I compared it to the weight of the 20" echo wheel I have, and the trial tech wheel seemed a lot lighter even at 26". The square holes also look really nice. I would seriously recommend it even without a ride, very lightweight... Cheers, Adam.

The Echo rims are known for being strong where as the Trial tech rims have only just come out, I recently just bought a new front wheel, should be coming tomorrow, I decided do go with the Trial tech square holed rim. This was mainly because I wanted a pretty lightweight front wheel, the 20" Echo rim weighs in at 500g compared to the Trial tech at 394g, that’s an extra 106g of unnecessary weight, and it’s for a front wheel so it’s not going to take a major bashing. I personally think that the Trial tech rims look at lot classier and are quite unique compared to most trials rims, but each to there own... Also between the Echo and Trial Tech rims there is only 1mm difference in width-Echo being 40mm and Trial Tech at 39mm- so there's not a massive comparison there. If I were you I would go with the Trial Tech, if my wheel comes tomorrow I will give my verdict after using it. Cheers, Adam.

I was browsing on tarty bikes and noticed under brake lever blades that there was a Magura 4-Finger HS33 Lever Blade, first looks of this I thought this was the older model lever. Have magura came to there sences and changed back to the old style shape of lever,or has this been around for a while now and made no significant difference? Cheers, Adam.

That was a manufacturing fault rather then just the GU being rubbish... If I was still riding 20" I would have defiantly got another GU and would personally recommend. Only thing is, is it has quite a long wheel base at 1030mm, which is the length of the short zoo. If you were looking for a shorter frame then the Czar would be ideal as the wheelbase for a short is at 1005mm. Cheers, Adam.

I just didn't think onza were a brand worth considering compared to echo or try all etc, Also I didn't realise how strong the rims were. Anyways I've decided to go for an echo now as they were brilliant for my 20" and the trend seems to be simular for the 26". Cheers, Adam.

Update: Rang up Trials-Uk to find out what was happening, Echo said they would replace the frame. They said for me to send down the frame and they would have a look at it. They also agreed to Swap the frame for a 26" Czar, but said they would have to email Echo again about it... But hopefuly this is now everything sorted Cheers, Adam.

I think everyone has had there fair amount of fall off's. The trick is, just get back on the bike, and try to 'ride through it'-(unless you've broken your leg then you’re let off) Or get back up and do what you wanted to do again, your only going to build up a fear of what you've just done. As you said you've been more wary about drops, you don't want a fear of what you’re doing, were all doing trials because we enjoy it right? If you go for something and you don't make it you try it again, it may be too big but it shows progression and everyone needs to push them self a bit. As for the back of the legs, I went out a couple of days ago, first time in ages with no shinnies and ended up with a nice big load of cuts around the back of my leg. I would agree with oliyoungman14 and get some 661 shinnies. Just get them from Chain reaction instead. The only faults I find with these shinnies are the smell after a large amount of use's and no wash! As well as they have the tendency to more a bit on your leg, so one moment you have them on fine, the next there in the opposite direction. My mate has some [url=http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=21831]Lizard skin shinnies, they are pretty heavy duty, don’t turn around, breathable and pretty lightweight. There a little bit more expensive but seem to do a better job... Or just have a look through chain reaction under the body amour section, for shinnies, kneepads, armpads, ect. I'm sure you could find protection for nearly every fall off on there. As for me I've landed on my groin, nice dents in shins, scratched back of my leg, landed on my coccyx, but some how my worst injury seems to be my index finger for my rear brake. I even took a week off from riding to allow it to repair but it still hasn't it seems to be really badly bruised that I can't bend it as far as the other finger, and I cant pull my brake hard enough because of this! If you want a brand new bike then I would go with Tarty,Select or trials-uk. BUT, if you dont mind getting a second hand bike then I would most definatly get one off ebay. Depending on how much money you obviously depends on the quality. Hey, Im looking to get a new hub shell for my king, the only place I can find it is from aspirevelotech, and they have the blue 32holes out of stock. I emailed them and there going to be getting them in in three weeks. Does anyone know where else I can get them from, Ive looked around but can't seem to find anywhere except aspirevelotech. Not even the chris king website do them! Its for a bmx/classic hub by the way... Cheers, Adam.

I personally like creapy crawlers, Ive had a fair few different tyres and they seem to be the best for grip in all weathers. Plus there trials designed, so you can't really go wrong with that... I belive the cheepest place I found them were on chain reaction. It only saves you a couple of pounds but you have the added bonus of free postage too. Cheers, Adam.

Hey Im looking to get a new 26" back wheel built up, And I was wondering on any recomendation for rims... On my 20" I ran an echo did incredibly well and ran true till the end-(Cut the spokes and took the hub). So does the same apply with the 26" echo rims? Or can anyone recommend somthing else. This is to be preferably listed on Tarty not essential but I am getting the wheel built from then and is for ease more then anything. And I personaly am going to steer clear of Onza and the dob magnesium rims so there out of the question... Cheers, Adam.

Not really,It was making a creaky noise though. It creaked everytime you kicked on the back wheel and lowering to gap mainly. Thats was Proberly to do with the weight distribution while in those positions. The frame was still rideable though, I had ago while it was like that, there was not difference to before, well, minius the creaking. It was preety cleanly snapped though, there was no way you could move the frames position up or down, no flex at all. Its almost as if it sat nicer like it did snapped then it did before. At the moment though I've just given up with it and it's sat in my shed doing nothing, Proberly not worth the risk riding it just incase it cause's more damage. Its proberly easily fixed though, just get it reweld. Ultimately it could end up stronger then before. Cheers Adam.
