  1. lol - if you look at the headset on it - it was fun if the bolts werent tightend properly like and went big as the bars would move forward and that can be scary!! was a canny little bike to ride when i was just starting out - wasnt the lightest of things and with the forks being the double things you couldnt get much turn on them but other than that - i found it a lovley little bike to ride!! Jon
  2. ah see - i didnt say it wasnt dented - there is a dent or two on the down-tube off the previous owner - seen some of his rides and they were HUGE!! will see what i can get for it if there is any interest in it - if not - will just keep it and practice on and keep getting better and better!! (hopefully!!) Jon
  3. YES!! thats the one - i must have missed that on google - saying that i am having one of them days!! thats spot on that mate!! cheers people - what do people think of it then?! i thought it was brill!! haha!! Jon
  4. yes!! something similar to that but not exactly the same - the forks were like that red one and even the bash was something like that - but it was silver and like i say i am sure the "monty" stickers were pink ooooh - getting close - i can feel it - sure someone will be able to find a pic of the bike i used to ride!! haha!! Cheers bud, Jon
  5. wrong section - ah bugger - mods can move it to correct section please - just though with it being a question - never mind Cheers for that though mate - much appreciated - its a shamano mech - not 100% sure which one though - i saw the two screws your on about bud - will have a look at it tonight me thinks - plus its another excuse to get out and ride and get abit more practice in!! hehe!! Cheers bud, Jon
  6. Right, i used to ride a mod a few years ago and want to know what kind it was and / or if there are still any kicking about?! anyway - thought you guys would be the best people to ask and hopefuly you will be able to help me out!! i have a few bits of info that i can remember about the bike!! it was a monty - thats a good start at least i have norrowed things down a little it was a 20" bike the forks were like box tube metal the forks were also the "double" type (as in these kind ones: http://www.airbornracingindustries.com/ima...llers/forks.gif - they came further up than normal forks if that makes sense) and the bars kinda looked like they were off a BMX it had a seat sure it had pink stickers or something on - again i'm not sure if they were put on by my mate though (will probs be an old-skool bike if anyone knows what it is) now i hope that is enough to go off to possibly find the kinda bike i used to ride - i got it off a mate and that was the bike that got me into trials - would be chuffed if someone could help me out to find one like it or at least a pic of one - hopefully it was a "ready made bike" and not one someone threw together in their back garden!! lol!! Cheers people, Jon
  7. as per title - i have an 8spd cassette and mech on the rear of my bike but at the minute it is running in gear 6 - so you can imagine its fairly difficult to get the drive i need - without having a selector on the bars can you set the mech up to stay in a lower gear so i can get more drive?! many thanks in advance, Jon
  8. do you reckon?! i am going to keep hold of it for now and see if i can get to grips with it - suppose all i can do is ride and practice again after two years out, we shall see what happens!! Jon
  9. i am 5'9" - what would people recomend?! i think it may be going that way mate i feel the same but with the 26" wheels - i just get this awfull feeling that the going to buckle - think thats from when i used to try it on standard bikes though and bend the wheels on them!! i have found that with the 20" - loads easier to balance on and get to grips with!! like i said erlier in the thread it may only be that i have only riden 26" a couple of time so i may get better with a few more rides etc but we shall see Jon i am 5'9" - what would people recomend?! i think it may be going that way mate i feel the same but with the 26" wheels - i just get this awfull feeling that the going to buckle - think thats from when i used to try it on standard bikes though and bend the wheels on them!! i have found that with the 20" - loads easier to balance on and get to grips with!!
  10. Cheers mate – much appreciated - Old school eh – I loved the seat and it kinda went with the black and red theme I was going for with the bike so that’s why I got it like!! Haha!! Cheers for all the comments so far people – so glad that people don’t think its past its best!! Lol!! Jon
  11. cheers bud, really not sure what it is and to be honest it seems a little flimsy - cant even remember where i got the wheel and brake - not sure if i just used an old wheel off an old bike or not?! Jon
  12. lol - i know it does look like i am wanting to sell - it - i will not hide the fact that i will want rid at some point to get a mod but this thread is by no means meant to be a "for sale" thread as per the rules i have been wanting to reply to a few of the threads in the main forum but cant as of yet - will just have to bide my time!! i only stated that its only been ridden once as it has, i built it up in 2006, had a bust up with parents and moved out, left my bike there then got my own house and it went into the garage and i only got it out the other day and that was the first time i rode it with the spec detailed above i think its cool but still think i would be better suited to a mod - but we shall see what happens really!! Jon cheers for that mate - made me smile that - woohoo!! and i didnt think it was out special not sure if he is on here or not but i got the frame off a lad called Brett from Durham - seen some of his vids and pics and that boy can ride!! hopefully with bit more practice i can get better than what i am at the minute!! Jon
  13. as per title - are they!? have searched a few threads and seen that some people think they are out of date?! i have one at the minute but am considering going back to a mod if i can get one and get rid of my zebdi (that isnt i hint at a sale thing as in know they not allowed - was merely stating a fact) this is my bike: its the only pic i have of it at the minute - only just got the bike out recently and this is the spec from what i can remeber: Zebdi frame rear tryall drilled wheel with 8spd cassette rear hs11 brake 2.3 rear tyre unknown front wheel front mechanical disc brake (unknown make) 2.1 front tyre stiffy forks base stem echo wide raiser bars yeti grips (i think) raceface cranks and bash ring DMR v12 pedals FSA bottombracket lizard skin chainstay protector echo mini trials seat (union jack) only been ridden ONCE since it was built to the above spec as i lost interest in the sport but now i am back What do people think - if i was to sell it what do people think i could / should ask for for it?! Cheers in advance, Jon
  14. personally from riding the two now - i found the 20" to be better for ballance and to be able to pick things up alot quicker on - the more and more i thin about it the more and more i wana go back to 20" Jon
  15. My Bike: What do people think?! sorry about the crap pic - was taken on my old fhone a couple of years ago just after i moved into my house - as you can probs tell by the mess of the place!! haha!! Looking at getting rid and getting a mod though!! Cheers, Jon
  16. point taken - think i should have said "more like normal bikes than" - but i see wqhere you are coming from - wasnt meaning it in a nasty way or anything - and as stated no offence was intended!! think if i can swap my stock for a mod i will be going back to mod like!! Jon
  17. cheers for that so far guys - i think i did pick things up easier on the 20" and also looking at it now - it is alot harder to do on the 26" (in my eyes - not having a go at those that ride 26") but at the same time i see the point about getting up bigger things - as i have had a two year break - i dont think i would be going up anything TOO big at the minute anyway - need to find my feet again before i start doing stupid stuff!! haha!! very tempted to go back to the 20" - i also saw some young lads riding 20" on a caravan site i was at recently and i think i prefer the looks of the 20" - again - no offence to the 26" riders but with the 20" they MAINLY look like trials bikes and the 26" look like "normal" bikes (with exceptions i know) so if i was going for the "thats different" look - i would go 20" all day long!! Jon the thing with that one is i dont seem to be able to do much at all on the stock as i have never r3eally ridden stock i was alwyas mod untill i had to stop which is when i was busy building the stock but never got chance to ride it so going to something new (stock opposed to mod) and with a lack of two years experience - i am finding it hard!! lol!! Jon
  18. As per title really I currently have a 26" Zebdi (will be putting pics and spec up tomorrow), but used to have a 20" monty (a few years ago now like) and to be honest i think i preferred the 20" - i am contemplating whether or not to go back to 20" - i think i fiond it alot easier to ride than the 26" - does anyone have any preference over these two sizes and the arguments for each!? please post and help me make a decision!! Cheers, Jon
  19. very glad to be back to be honest mate - only one problem i have at the minute really - i am riding 26" but think i wana go bak to mod - maybe becuse i have had a two year break but just cant seem to get back into my 26" Zebdi - gunna think about going back to 20" like - deffo!! Jon
  20. As per title really - was into trials and then along came a bairn and a new house so it all got put on the back burner - BUT - got my bike out at the weekend seems it was decent weather and had a little ride about Anywho - my name is Jon, 22, from County Durham, was riding alot more a few years ago and like i said abpve a few reason made me have to put off my riding!! i currently have a Planet X Zebdi with a few differetn thing - will pop a full spec and pics up tomorrow when i get pics and can remember what it has on, i got frame in 2006 and then built it up using different parts and this weekend was the only time i have riden it since it was complete!! Well there we are - hope to be on here and hope to be riding alot more in the near future Cheers, Jon
