  1. Yeah i know Da Bomb's aren't the best trials bikes in the world, but i think its only the frame and the forks which are actually Da Bomb. And my plan is to upgrade bits and bobs as i go along and then hopefully during the summer to get a new frame, i wasn't planning on upgrading anything at the moment but i got offered this deal so i think i might take it. Could anyone help me with an estimated price to sell the previously stated parts and also a BASE bar and stem? Would really be helpful for me to know as selling that stuff would help with the funding of the new parts.
  2. Also i was thinking to fund the forks and wheels i could sell my current forks and wheels and also my front magura If anyone could give me advice on what i should sell them at then that would be useful. (I am not trying to sell them on here. I am just trying to find out what people would expect to pay for these items) Oh and i don't know what the forks are, but the wheels are an Alex Y303 (front) on an unknown hub and an Alex DX32 on an unknown hub. Also the magura is the one with the old style TPA, not sure on exact year. If anyone could give me some help i'd greatly appreciate it.
  3. Do you think that some koxx forks, a try-all rim on a hope pro2 hub (front wheel) and a try-all rim on an onza hub (rear wheel) is a good investment for someone who has only just started riding trials?
  4. Well I have been wearing a 661 Dirt Lid, but that's mainly because its hanging on my street bike which is by my trials bike I find it comfy and its pretty lightweight, although many people seem to use XC helmets. So have a look at them aswell.
  5. Yeah I realised that but just needed to know rather quick and didn't fancy searching through a whole list of peoples PB's as I'm just off to the gym now
  6. Hey just wondering what weight training people would advise a skinny guy to do, to help with trials. And I don't want to know how much you can do I'd just like some advice on what sort of things to do. For example? Bench Pressing Curls Leg Curls Squats Anything?
  7. You have to remember that halfords isn't just a bike shop but they are mainly catering for motorists. Also most of there bikes are aimed at a market which dont want to spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds on a bike which they will only ride on the pavements with there children and maybe once in a while off road. But they do actually have a surprising amount of goodish quality gear and tools at reasonable prices and they are bringing in some higher spec gear. I know I have bought stuff from them and I will again if I'm passing and need something.
  8. Yeah I meant if it wasnt performing as I wish, not as in it braking. Had it for about six months and its been amazing on my dirt jump bike so hopefully I won't have any problems.
  9. Seeing as I already have the BB5 I think once I can afford new forks and front wheel then I'll just stick that on there and see how it goes, I can always just go get a BB7 or hydro afterwards if the BB5 isn't working as I want.
  10. Looks nice All I'd say is that if your someone who wants it to be really asethetically pleasing then get a red rim like the rear and also if you could find someone to make you the stickers but in red then that would look lush.
  11. Yeah but with a good pad and cable set up would there be that much of a difference between the BB7 and BB5?
  12. Hey, I've got a Avid BB5 on my dirt jump bike, was thinking about upgrading to disk fork on my Mod and was going to take the BB5 off the dirt jumper and put it onto the mod. But i always here people talking about the BB7 being used for trials, but have never heard anything about the BB5 being used. So i was wondering that when i do finally upgrade would the BB5 be any good or should i just get myself a Hydro or a BB7?
  13. Cheers for the help and everything. In the end just took it to my local shop, found that I only has half the bearings in the lower cup so had to get some of those, so figured it would be way easier just to get them to fit it aswell. Only cost me £4 for inserting it and for the bearings. So yeah if your ever in mid-wales pop into the bike shop in Rhayader, real good service and prices.
  14. Hey, I've been trying to get my headset into my frame but I can't seem to get it to go in straight or fully in Anybody got any advice for me? Had this bike for a month and this is the only thing stopping me from riding it so any help getting me out there to start riding would really be appreciated. Matt
  15. Cheers for the advice on the chain There some BikeTrial ones, don't no the exact model of them. Any help on this would be hugely appriciated
  16. Its a Da Bomb Pro 05 I think. And I'm about 5' 7". I'd like the front to be easy to pull up and be light as I'm not the biggest guy in the world
  17. Buying a trials bike off a mate tommorow but it doesn't have a stem or a chain So anybody know any good reasonably priced parts for a beginner? Oh and its a mod forgot to mention that.
