  1. So guys as some of you may know I'm president of a university mtb club over here in Ireland and we've a few trials riders including myself. Now we've been riding on the university campus for years because it has good stuff, without getting into trouble. But just before christmas the buildings department decided they'd had enough and banned us from riding there any more. This is pretty annoying seen as it was our main spot. However they have said that if we put a formal proposal together and came up with plans and estimated costs that we could possibly build a designated area by our pump track that would be just for our use. Now my question is, has anyone who has done something similar got any advice? The one thing they have said is that they don't want it looking tatty so no pallets allowed. This makes it tricky I think as it's going to mean mainly natural sort of stuff like rocks etc I think. We may be able to get away with a couple of concrete walls etc but they want it to fit in with the campus grounds. I think this is pretty silly as the area it's to be located is way off the main part of the campus.

Anyway I'm open to any ideas people have but we are on kind of a budget as our club will be covering at least half the cost I think. Of course anyone is welcome to come over once it's done and if your into mtb, we could show you some of our local trails, pretty awesome singletrack. Who knows, we may even be able to hold comps in the future :P Well one can dream.

there already is a trials park in Northern Ireland
  2. We all know who Marino ishttp://www.marinobike.com/He is looking for a new rider to sponsor with a new 4130 heat treated custom frame, any wheel size, geo, set up you want. He's asked me & Ross McArthur to check out some unsponsored riders and pick one. He's looking for a few things...* Your riding should speak for itself and you shouldn't be afraid to go big.* You should be creative & well rounded, no tgs robots, but not someone who just manuals & foot jam whips either.* Demo riding would be an advantage.* You'll already have good videos made, and have the equipment to carry on doing it, high quality frequent pictures & videos.* You should be a pleasant person with a good attitude.* You'll have a good style and image and generally promote the Marino name in a good way.* Someone who has consistently ridden for a long time & doesn't quit once a year for 6 months.* Competition results would be a plus but not essential as I know not THAT many people do them.I think that's about it, so send me or Ross McArthur your videos and tell us why you'd be a good team rider.PM me or Ross, not Marino, he's ridiculousy busy!Cheers.
