    This will go nowhere, trust me. If they were likely to build it, it would have been done already. They obviously aren't willing to spend so much money on a still very niche sport.

    Take it from someone who's tried to get a skatepark built before, unless they build it straight away, it's unlikely to happen. And pestering them will just piss them off, you think when this guy gets a hundred emails saying 'A dood sez u can bild us a trialz parkk i want 1 an ma mate damo duz 2' he's gonna be thinking 'Hmm, these chaps have a point'? Nope it's just gonna piss him off.

    Sorry to rain on your parade but think about it… they're not interested.

    Thats the responce I got before i had the land, the permission and some funding...

    so you, are going to go solo and end up getting a trials park built in greatnotley, when nobody at all is actually interested in having it built anymore, and theres no money at all. not trying to be rude, but good luck with that.

    Whats wrong with trying?

    I'll speak to a few contacts about funding :)

    we DID get offered 5k from baa, but now eveything has fallen apart baa arnt going to give any money :P

    charlie, we arnt gettin a trials park, we had a chance but not any more.

    when me and theo did the presentation to the youth council they seemed very up for the idea, then a ew weeks later we all received an email saying braintree had already had too much spent on it in the past year (for youths)

    i beleive it was 2 weeks later the brantree and witham times had on the front cover 'more money needs to be spent on youths!'

    so i dont quite understand the logic of that, but f**k spending 2 years trying to get support again. sport4essex were the key to this, and they were our link to funding and professional planning, they pulled out knowing this isnt going to happen. We all gave up long ago charlie! you may aswell join the club.

    Charlie, told you ages ago like 5 months ago they pulled out! They are ignoring you because they proberally have blocked your email after all the emails you have been sending.

    They pulled out ages ago, Ill whip out the email I got somewhere.

    Man. This hasnt helped our cause lol

    I was never told, this will help us, because of the point I said earlier. Anyway, we have nothing to loose...

    charlie we dont have fundng as sport4essex pulled out when we failed to get the funding from the essex youth council. it all fell apart from then on.

    We have 10k from BAA...

    I don't see what the problem with me persuing the trials park..

    We have worked so hard to get further than anybody else has before in getting a trials park, Why stop now? If we fight hard enough, we will get it...

    It's on the sport Essex website. :)

    I think this is a great way to show the sport from multiple views and shows the amount of people that would be interested in the trials park.

    Maybe it's a good idea to put a bit of personality into the emails, maybe say where your from, your age, how often you ride e.t.c.

    Right guys,

    As some of you may know, We have managed to get pretty far in getting a trials park built..

    We have permission to build it.

    We have funding to build it

    We have land to build it

    and we also have a professional designer to design it.

    BUT

    The guy who i am supposed to be contacting has chosen to start ignoring my emails...

    I've sent him Danny Mack videos and news items e.t.c. and he's totally blanked me.

    So, what I need is for you guys to email him telling him how amazing the sport is and why we need the trials park

    BUT PLEASE ONLY EMAIL IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE RESPECTFUL, SPELL PROPERLY AND ACTUALLY ARE GOING TO SENT SOMETHING WORTHY OF SENDING, WE DONT WANT TO GIVE TRIALS A BAD NAME...

    Brake boosters make your brake better and quieter. You dont have to run one if you have got decent pads

    Lol, Errm... My brake booster seemed to make my brake louder, because it amplifies the vibrations. Also: Pads have nothing to do with it as better pads would probably make frame flex worse...

    If your going to comment, make it worthy...

    Brake boosters basically stiffen the frame because in braking, sometimes the frame can flex outwards, causing damage to the frame and effecting brake power.

    Some frames have built in Brake boosters or some frames are stiffer than others. I'd strongly reccomend running a booster as it protects your hose/brake and it also can act as a nice little seat :P

    Yeh, you could have just not posted here CJ and got in touch with Steve, that way you wouldn't make yourself look like a pedantic twat.

    I'm not meaning to be offensive mate but come on, why would you post on a public forum instead of getting in touch with Steve first unless you were trying to make him look bad? Chances are Steve Rogers just had the pic because he's in it and automatically assumed he had copyright seeing as he's in it and sent it to Steve.

    If you ask me the law is bollocks anyway, if you're in a picture you should have say over what happens to it, regardless of who shot it.

    I was only asking for advice. :S

    The laws are: If somebody takes a photograph, they automatically own rights of it, (unless other wise stated) and are able to do what they wish with it. (if it is taken in a public place) Hence all the Paperazzi getting away with murder.

    Did you take the picture then, because that is some good camera work. If not you have no right of the picture. You can take him to court over copy right but that would be silly IMO.

    This post is not meant to make Heatsinkbikes, or anybody related to Heatsink bikes look bad, I was merely asking what others thought of the situation.

    Hello.

    I've discovered my Photo being displayed on the Heatsink Bikes website..

    They have given me no notice or displayed any copyright info...

    I'm just wondering what everybody thinks about this..

    If they asked, I wouldn't have a problem... It's just the fact that they used it..

    I would have been fine if they just offered a small link.. (or maybe a set of pads :P)

    The image is found next to Steve Rogers, They also claim on that page "Copyright 2009 heatsinkbikes.com" although on my flickr I display a similar message for myself.

  23. Bike Troubles...

    Hey :)

    I've been having a few problems with my bike.

    It was a neon, but as you probably know, they have some serious manufacturing problems...

    So eventually my chain managed to wear through my frame, causing a hole..

    I've solved that by building my T-Pro again, but now I'm facing problems with my bottom bracket which I have bent (Echo Internal ISIS) I'm not able to get the tool into the BB to tighten it because of the bend in the axel :S and freewheel (Tensile 18T) has got worse as I now can actually tension my chain without it cutting my frame in half along with my wheel with 28/32 spokes... EDIT: I have also f**ked my Headset, this also need replacing :P

    So, I've thought about my options.. and have found a wheel for sale. It's a Profile with a Titanium Driver laced to a Try-All rim.

    I've heard a few bad things about the Drivers breaking especially on the Ti models? (Weird because Ti is stronger?)

    I just basically wanted to ask if this is true and if anybody else have had similar problems...

    Obviously after getting this wheel I'd need a few other things, for example.. a sprocket...
