This is for Mod (20") bikes. Can someone explain the usual setups for sprockets and freewheels and how many teeth is preferred. I am lost. Thank you.

Im on a nightmareish budget of about £250 to get a "20 mod up and running. Have been trolling the for sale forums and seeing these bits and bobs go for much less than Tarty's prices. So i think I'm gonna build my own. Is it hard to build a wheel? both wheels in fact... I am an able bodied person with no real retardation's I'm aware of, so it should be no bother. but will it save me money? also, are headsets and bottom brackets mofo's to fit? i have done it in ages past and i dont remember it being a lovely experience. Although the wiki is really helpful. Thanks. x
