  1. Bolt the tool to the freewheel/crankarm so the tool can't pop out, then put the bb tool in a vice and use a bar over the end of your crank for leverage and it will come of easily. If you don't have a bar just hit the crank with a large hammer lol
  2. get the cloud 9 kit from heatsink much better imo, its cheaper, it will clear your chain and you can replace the sprocket when it wears, they weigh around the same as well LINK
  3. Just been on heatsinks website and ordered the cloud 9 bash kit, it has been reduced to £30!!!!!!!!! with free postage, and there selling there blue pads for £10 well worth it imo linky
  4. you could take a little material of your pads, or get a bottomn bracket with a longer axle.
  5. Make your own press mate, get a really long bolt and 2 large washers, put it through the cups and the headtube and tighten the nut slowly making sure the cups goes in straight.
  6. are you turning it the right way remember to take out the non drive side first and it is opposite thread
  7. +1 for the stinger Ali C cant be far wrong
  8. It will still need heat treated to prevent the new mounts snapping off, look into the helicoil its cheap as chips, just out of interest where have you seen new mounts that you could buy. On another thought was the tapping tool you used exactly the same thread as the bolts you used, I dont mean diameter but the thread spacing and depth.
  9. Like I said I think the freewheel is on the back wheel on the hydra and it will screw on, and if you could get a pick that would help out alot.
  10. But welding them in exactly the right place is not so easy well for me anyway lol, not to mention getting them properly heat treated. I just dont think if you welded new mounts on that they would last. Hellicoil for the win, but then again this is just my oppinion.
  11. The 2003 hydra has the freewheel mounted on the rear hub and a fixed cog on the cranks it sounds to me like the freewheel is broken, as I dont think the cranks can unattach without falling of the bike.
  12. It will make your threads uber-strong, and it would be alot easier and cheaper than welding on new mounts
  13. Is he using a front freewheel or a freehub?
  14. Have you thought about hellicoil-ing them?
  15. With spraying it is best to start with a rough surface (use coarse sand paper) if you dont strip back to bare metal you shouldnt need primer. The best advice I can give you is to be patient and only use thin layers and leave each one to dry and fully harden before applying another coat. If you can get the frame into your house after each coat the heat will help it harden alot better than a damp garage. Have a look at the WIKI and use the advice on there. Hope this helps
  16. Take it to any local engineering place and they could rethread it for a couple of quid. I fabricated a very small star nut out of a normal one for a set of dob magnesium forks and it worked a treat. I just ground it down till it was slightly bigger than the steerer tube, and cut some v's in it with a hacksaw only took around 10 mins and has been running for months now with no problems
  17. Is the actual inside of the steerer tube threaded or is it a star nut. if it is threaded inside you could cut it and just rethread it if it is a star nut just cut it and buy a new star nut
  18. first video i ever saw when i first start trials, it made me fall in love with monty, so much that on our next family holiday to barcelona i visited the monty factory and came home with a shiny 219 hydra it worked out soo cheap cause of the exchange rate lol
  19. The BNP as a party have some good fundamental ideas, not because I am racist in any way, but because in my oppinion they dont try to fill our heads with lies and dont tell us just what we want to hear. Yes alot of there policies are wrong and they take the whole concept of an only white society too far, but i do believe if they got into power they would not banish all ethnic minorities From the country. We live in a democratic state and just because nick griffin may want to banish everyone it would never happen. As a member of the british army I fight alongside people of all races and religions, some of which were not even born in this country, and by doing so they earn every right to stay in this country in my oppinion. I think people should look past colour and religion and look at what the person is contributing to our society, maybe implement a kind of national service for anyone who wishes to come and live in this country, this would solve 2 problems. 1- our undermanned forces in afghanistan and 2- immigrants would really have to be prepared to give their all to live here. I know it sound like i am contradicting myself here but it sounds ok in my head lol
  20. How long have you had the headset e.t.c Was it profesionally fitted?
  21. yeah they are quite crap just need a quick fix till i can get a new bb
  22. There was a weird grinding noise coming from the bb so I stripped it down and found that 2 of the bb's were smashed up, and during the stripping a couple of them jumped out and made their escape out of the garage door. you can get a pack of 24 bb's online for a couple of quid so it would be much cheaper than a new bottomn bracket.
  23. I have an echo isis bb and have lost a couple of the ball bearings, does anyone know what size I need to replace them? thanks
  24. You can get hope floating rotors that have the centre annodized, check on ebay oops too late
