  1. that bike looks really smart! amazing condition!

definitely get a grind whacked on there and you might need to invest in some new pads depending on what they are already.

not a massive problem but i would spin your back tyre round too as its on the wrong way at the moment.

As or forks you cant really go wrong i just wouldn't go near the Echo SL's

thank you for that :) most helpful. well i gave a light grind to the rear today and yes it need's new pad's on the back. I was thinking of going for the V!Z HS33 Pads. but open to ideas.

for the forks get the echo team ones. mine are 5years old and are still fine

Hum Echo team fork's the'd go well. :P thank you

  2. Wow! That thing looks brand new! Nice bike.

Thank you :D It almost is! The guy had it built for his missis. She's more into her BMX's so didn't really ride it. The rear break need's a tweak and pos a grind on the rim but other than that it's spanking.

Tell you what i've been tweaking the rear break and hopping about in the garden and i'm bloody nackerd! I can remember how to do stuff but man i'm un fit lol oh well can't wait for my first ride on it.

  3. Ok after 8 or so years out i picked up a new bike today. :D Very happy boy. Haven't been out on it yet just hopping around the garden but it feel's really nice. this is the first 20" bike i've ridden. I don't know much about 20" bike bit's so anyone know any usefull info on any of it's bit's let me know. :) Any hoo here's a few pictures.

  4. Go for it mate. I'm in the same boat as you, havn't been riding for about 7 years and trying to get back into it!

I recently bought my mates old 20" x-lite to see if i've got the motivation!

    Callum

Cool beans. ^_^ Glad i'm not the only one.

I've come back to riding after 9yrs out, been riding 3 months again now and i havent looked back since....

Do iiiiiiitttttt!! (Y) i feel so much better for it and seems like i've started an increase in old skool riders coming back out in sunny bedford :D

And i started on a mod again, now im on a Gu stock, that echo looks really sweet by the way,i wanted an echo lite long(mod)before i decided to go stock, good luck with it all mate and as it has with me im sure it will all return to you quickly :)

thank you dude, This make's me feel a lot better. I like to see that some of the old skool riders are coming back. So much has changed it's crazy! I can't wait till tomorrow........

  5. Hello everyone,

I'd really like to get back into trials riding after 8 years out. I work hard and play in a band, for a bit extra cash in me pocket, so i want to get back riding again for the fresh air and thrill of riding trials. The passion for the sport has never left me and although i was advised not to, i will ride again. Ok maybe not as hard or as big as i used to but Bugger it i need to ride! :D

I'm saving a bit of cash at the moment and would like to get some kind of 20" mod bike. I'd like to spend around £350 to £400 if that's do-able? I live down south in Dorset and i'm finding it hard to find anything or anyone selling.

I have recently found this on ebay this echo 20"

Trials has come along way in the last 8 years and i feel a bit behind the times. Is this something i should go for?

    Thank you, Shawn

Edit: Sorry the link didn't  work but it's ok now.

  6. a few people have said you need to get out more, but if you have work or kids an cant get out a lot then there isn't a lot you can do.

if you have come along that quickly in a couple of months its all about practice mate you seem to have the basicis nailed, there is no limit apart from your fear. just keep practising an it will come

    cheers

    Ben

    +1 :)

  7. Just wondering if anyone rides natural or comps ?Like to know if anyone does.

I like to ride natural, it's fun to ride a big section sometimes rather than hop one gap, side hop. Street's cool though........ lol as my avatar state's.....

  8. arrrr sorrry to her about the smash

Was a pisser. i've seen so many people come off bike, but it only takes one dodgy fall.......

Still i'm going to get riding again asap!

    Second hand yes. New, no.

Cool ok well i'll keep a wig out on ebay and on here. I've been looking online today and some of the 20" onza t's might do the job. The longer stem might help like you said. :D I do like a bike with fairly long chain stays......

  9. Sounds like a big shitter. Good you have something else you enjoy though.

A mod is an easy way to get back into it. They are real different from they were, not so much visually. Apart from the lack of flat bars and lower frames. If your after just hopping about then something with a nice medium/ long length would be good. Maybe a big stem to help with the back as well.

It will depend on the all important budget. The Atomz Premier seems a nice no nonsense bike that should suit.

Cool thank you dude, Hum the budget......... if i were to say £350-£400 mark would that be enough to get a wee beast?

  10. Hello everyone,

I've been an outsider using this forum for info and learning for a few month's now and thought i'd be much better off to join up. :)

I thought i'd give a little bit of info about me and a couple of question's to throw up too.

I was a trials rider about 8 or 9 years ago and ended up having a bad smash. I had just changed the pad's on a new hope mini that i was trying out on the rear and i trusted it a bit too much. I ended up landing a bit hard and it didn't quite grip. I fell on the lower part of my back twisting my pelvics and slipping a disc. :( I had to stop because i couldn't walk for almost a year. I've wanted to ride but the doc advised me to give it a brake and i ended up selling my bike and part's off. I've been scared to ride since because i still don't quite walk right.

I started off riding 26" and at the time trials bikes weren't really around, at a good price for the masses and ready to buy so we had to build our own. From what i can remember i started off with a DMR sidekick frame, heavy but good practice, hope hub's of some kind, HS33's, Giant forks, like Martyn's. Then a while laters i went on to a pashley, 26mHz i think it was. I was younger then and i really wanted to go in for comps and really try to make some money with it and maybe go pro. Of coarse that never happened and i ended up stopping altogether.

I do remember a brand called onza coming on the market, i think they were a bit poo when they first popped up, but that was the gossip back then  (oh yeah also monty and megamo)

Anyhoo I'd really like to get back into trials again, nothing as serious as before but to keep fit and enjoy the sport once again.

I've been thinking about starting up again but on 20"? I'm not really up on 20" bike's but i've seen some nice looking bit's up for sale on here.

I'm after something for bouncing around on rock/log's, some flat land stuff, nothing too major........yet. :wink2: Something fairly light, can be stock, and with some HS33's. How much would i be looking at spending to get back riding again?

I'm now 9 years unfit-er than before and although music is a bit part of my life now, (bass player :blues: ), i still have that burning need to ride!!!!! I've been out of the trial's loop for a while now and would really like some of your advice on what i might do now.

Thank you for reading, sorry if i ramble a bit i'm getting a tad excited about riding again :teehee:

    Take it easy, Shawn
