  1. Sanded the inner bore at anytime?

Nope not touched anything on the brakes.

Reason I needed a new piston was because it swelled up and then i sanded it down a little too much. So got new pistons and yeah.. :/

My mate said try a magura o-ring on there are they slightly different to the ones that come standard on the echo tr piston?

  2. Update:

    It's the lever body.
Took the lever off, wiped it clean and dry, put back in pulled the lever hard about 30 times on each side. took it off and had oil over the lever on both sides.

just bought a new piston though, so i don't understand?
  3. Starting to get seriously wound up by my brakes now.

I got some new pistons, the echo ones. Work great nice spring tension on the lever etc..

However, over the past few months I have had major trouble with getting my brakes to work properly.

Every few rides, if not one ride, I have to bleed my brake again.

Not sure why?!?! The TPA gets wound all the way in then I just have to bleed it.

Using Magura oil, the grub screws done up, the bleed screws done up, the tpa's are wound out when bleeding and facing at a slight angle as stated in the official how to bleed a magura rim brake video.

I pump through the oil several times, minimum of 3-5 times.

I do however need to buy a new bleed kit as the bleed hoses are slightly ruined and there may be a chance of them letting air back into the system.

So that is one thing I am going to try, buy a new bleed kit (syringe and new hoses) and try that.

But what else could it be?

Brand new pistons too! Just fitted them yesturday so I'm sure it's not that!

Edit: This was happening before the new pistons too.

  4. Why do you disagree though?

Because it's not a bad piece of equipment.

So yeah, it doesn't help with the stabilizing muscles, but other than that I see no other disadvantage.

It's perfect for if you are going to the gym on your own without a spot and just in general a good piece of equipment.

But yeah, at the end of the day free weight is miles better, but if you are at the gym on your own and you don't want to risk any sort of injury or whatever then the smith is perfect.

  5. Using a smith machine is the worst idea for any sort of muscle growth or balance. it halves the muscle activation, and gives you a false sense of strength as well as f**king up your balancing muscles, so if you can bench 70 kg on the smith even 40 kg is difficult off it. Free weights are the best. If you use the smith on its own you're setting yourself up for failure.

    Disagree.

Yes free weights are better I can agree on that.

  6. Weight training wont mess up your riding as long as you dont concentrate purely on going to the gym.

Keep riding your bike as much as possible and also chuck in the gym a few times a week.

I go to David Lloyd gym now and do a full body workout, which does help with going bigger for sure. But you need to make sure you aren't solely mind set on the gym. Practice on your bike as much as possible and go to the gym a few times a week and it wont mess up your riding.

    I do;

    Squats,

    Bench Press,

    Seated shoulder press,

Bent over barbell rows, (this hits your lats)

    Calf raises,

And don't use machines. Free weight will give you the best results.

P.S, Using a smith is better for squats and calf raises.

  7. I gave my wheel to my local bike shop to sort out my broken spokes.

I supplied them with the black spokes you can get from Tartybikes for a 26" wheel.

They rang me saying the reason 2 spokes spanned were because the hub is drilled to 3mm and the spokes are 2mm, they said they can either build it like that or they can order washers in and charge me more money.

What should I do? I just didn't know whether there were supposed to be a difference or not and they didn't know because it's a trials wheel or whatever?

Any help would be great :)

  8. From simmilarity of his bike to pogo stick. And I told you we know who your role model is ;) The video was the worst vid since vid of Giacomo made by Franky Chastel, which shown his shoes more than his riding.

No similarity what so ever. And yeah I guess, he is the trials master in my eyes. Giacomo's videos are beast, dont dis. Just caus the video quality is shit and may not be editted well doesn't mean it should get bad comments, it's there to have riding comments and if they request video editing comments.

  9. I grind my rim both ways like a wiper blade on a car, I use the sharpest edge of the disc at a 45 degree angle always works for me, if you only do it 1 direction then it'll be useless when the pad try's to grip the rim when it turns the other way?

Yeah I know that now :(

Oh well, just wait till I do my first comp I'm sure it'll get all shitty. Then I'll grind it in opposite directions.

  10. You want to grind both sides in the same direction, by that I mean both sides clockwise or anti clockwise. This means both sides of the rim are oppositely grinded, therefore you get hold going forwards and backwards (Y)

    ah sheet.

i wish you posted this like 15 minutes ago :(
