  1. Having ridden my stock Commencal as a street bike for the last year or so, decided to get myself a xcore trials to make up the difference that my commencal lacks in terms of "trialsy things". Pretty much set on a GU but not set on whether i should get a stock or mod. Like i said, been riding a lot of street with a bit of trials based gaps and hop ups but i can't decide on whether a stock or mod would suit me better. I want a bit of a change (so im not spending money on a bike which differs from my commencal slightly) but i dont want to have that bigger change. Thoughts?
  2. I dont think cutting it down would be an option as it has actually snapped all the way through. It's secure so i dont think its going anywhere soon so im just going to roll on it and see how long it holds up.
  3. I'm 22 but going on 82. Usual aches and pains the day after riding. Worst thing is them damn Cod Liver Oil tablets. Somehow they must add an extra 5 years onto your retirement age purely on the fact that they are just awful
  4. As the title suggests, just found a huge crack in my Bashguard. It basically starts at the only bit of the bash that is scuffed and goes through the bolt hole for the chain ring. Now i've only got a low end Truvativ Ruktion Crankset (its really not worth me upgrading until i find good reason to ala. it dies) and i was going to put an e.thirteen supercharger on it. Questions are 1. My c/set is 32t SS. Do i just get the 32t Bashguard version? 2. Is it worth replacing a cracked bash or do i wait until it disintegrates? Thanks in advance
  5. Well my only concern regarding streety trials is that i have a very small bike and streetrials can be an absolute tw@ because of how cramped it actually is. Don't get me wrong, i absolutly love my bike and i'm not interested in getting a new frame (other than the p66 @ xmas which offers a minimal difference in terms of dimensions) and it is designed for a lot of whippy, high, hard jumpy things. But i do understand that it wont hurt to get a new front brake which i have ordered.
  6. The Megamo one will be at least 400+ on the reserve so maybe that pushes it out of your budget? The Onza Rip seems like the only "good to go" one mainly because the other one needs a bit of money spent on it.
  7. Hey i'm Danny from Blackpool. Been riding street for about 3 years but broke my leg last year (spiral fracture of the lower third) and just got back on the bike after over 200 days! My feet are my chariot and my car the horse, with wherever i stop being my riding spot but i tend to hit Blackpool prom, St Annes, Preston, Central Blackpool among others. I'm an avid Leeds Utd fan (UP THE WHITES!). Other than that, i play football, like rock climbing, swimming, playing team fortress 2, watching football, riding and generally having a larf!!! I also absolutly LOVE megadeth!!
  8. I bought some Raceface rubber ones off CRC a while back but got a bit sick of the red so i bought some of the White Echo Rubbers of Tarty. Really impressed with them so far. Nice and thin as well. Think they are about 6 quid as well.
  9. Well as a good base i had my eye on a mod Koxx frame on ebay which was going for 30 quid. Deffo think if your patient enough and as mentioned before, good with spanner, then you'll be able to pull off a sub 200 bike. It's kind of what i did but then i threw loads of money at it to make it good which defies the point but OH WELL! Onza's are pretty cool. They aren't designed not to take hits and as a 1st bike, i doubt you would notice a difference between a good bike and a great bike.
  10. Currently riding a stock Commencal Max (street based) and eventually going to upgrade to a p66. My question is this.... Been riding for a while without a front brake (did have a pair of avid 5 vee's but they snapped) so i just took it off and never looked back since. Basically, been doing a lot of trialsy stuff (compared to my usual hard hitting heavy landing big jumping stuff) and i'm just wondering if i'd benefit by getting myself a new front brake? A few of the sidehops that ive been nailing are really clean but when i try the really big stuff i just lose control of the bike and im not sure if its my lack of control or my lack of front braking power. Thoughts thanks
