  1. Sounds good Joe! I'll put the date in my diary, I'm just up the road in Lancaster so if you need a hand with building a few things I can give up an evening or whatever!

The grass wasn't too much of a problem really, but I'm not going to complain if it's shorter! Might be worth putting some bigger objects in the middle of everything instead of at the back edge. But the set up last time catered well for all the riders I thought.

    See you all there.

    Tom.

    cheers man =)

That was the first course ive ever built and i dont even ride trials (i did once upon a time) i just enjoy it, so im glad so many people thought it was good.

I talked to adam from Tarty again and we are hopefully going to come up with some ides over the next coupleof weeks, ill keep everyone posted.

    Thanks

  2. Cheers guys, and yeah we will have cars again, and well look at stiffening things up =), Weve got welding kit here, so can always wack some steel tubing in the roof and well board the windows up as well as possible.

And yeah anyone willing to help with designs, ideas or physical work, p.m me and ill give you my number

Got a shed load of pics from last year too, so for those that didnt come ill upload them so you can see what we are going for =)

Hoping to get some form of sponsor to arrange a competition with prizes so keep your eyes out =)

    Joe

  3. Should be ther with a few mates, obviously if the weather is good again. And i completely agree with gage man in an earlier post, there was issues with the grass and the hill, should be there anyway but we would all be gratefull if you could sort something out :)

The grass can certainly be cut shorter. but we are pretty limited to that same field, i will be making things bigger this year and i will do all i can to make it the best for all of you.

Just give me ideas of what you want and ill get on with it.

    Joe

  4. Hello folks, Its me again, Joe from Cuerden Valley Park.

We are starting preperations for the fair and i have been given the go ahead to organise the trials event again, and i basically want to know if you lot will come in such strong force again as last year was really good, we have had so much good feedback and and you were all a spectacle to watch, obviously ill be looking to add more stuff but this is mainly to see if you are all interested again. There will be a small charge of around £3 mainly to cover staff time for the prep, it takes a lot of organising this ;)

Ill update the thread regularly with pictures and progress.

For those already interested the disclaimer is available here.

  6. some pics of things weve built today are on my first post in this thread =)

dont worry, thats not where you will be riding thats just our yard =) the whole beam section is collapsible and well shift it all the day before.

the cars and skips are turning up next week along with the mother of all cable reels, its 2 times the size of the ones on there =)

also the pallets and pallet constructions will be movable and adjustable and there will be spares so you lot can build what you fancy within reason haha

im really looking forward to it now and i will send an email to all people who have signed up early next week with a more detailed guide of times etc.

    get warmed up ;)

    also

can anyone else read my first post propperly? it used to be fine but now its all displayed in html on my screen??

We have all day tomoz to start on actuall construction of obstacles, ill be out with the chainsaw first thing on the sleepers, you could come in the afternoon if you fancied gettin pics of work in progress, come and give us some hints too ;)

Heading down from highlands. Have room for one more plus bike. Give us a shout if you need a lift. Will be leaving on the friday morning. One way mind. Not coming back till a week later.

Wahey, itll be good to meet you man, thats some dedicated travel, we'll have to make it extra special now

  8. yeah, would be best to post the disclaimer up somewhere. Sorry, I dont mean to doubt things, it all sounds really good, but is a disclaimer really worth the paper it's written on? Don't you need proper insurance if people are paying to ride there? I'm not saying I want it to cost more, I'm all for the "do it at your own risk" but it is legit doing it this way right?

Oh, and big up the speed trials, that sounds mega!!

disclaimers can be iffy ground but at the end of the day we need in writing that people understand what they are doing and yes we do have propper insurance, its a 700 acre country park, we have to have public liability insurance etc anyway, we are simply adding this on as a one day event.

what we basically want is for people to come and have a good time, not attempt something they dont have the ability to do and break their leg and blame us, if that happened.... bye bye trials events.

the disclaimer can be emailed to anyone who requests it, just email me - unjustdnb@hotmail.co.uk, when im back at work i shall try and upload it so people can d/l it

  9. All items for the course have been sourced

    we have confirmed:

    Scrap cars

    Tractor tires

    Big skip

    Forklift trucks

    Pallets

    Railway sleepers

    Logs

    Balance beams

We are now on with course design with the tarty bikes lads, and the disclaimer has been written.

for those 100 percent coming email me @ unjustdnb@hotmail.co.uk with your address and i shall post the disclaimer to you so you can fill it in before the event and have nothing to worry about.

its looking very promising and im getting a lot of interest so thankyou to all, and lets hope we can turn this into a regular thing, give the local riders something to get excited about.
