There's something about Ali's riding that is so perfect. The accuracy and precision is incredible and the quality control on the filming and editing side is really noticeable especially when you compare it to a whole load of other riders who seem to bang out super hyped up videos filled with trials sins and sub par riding (still good, but just not on this level) that seem to just be like a Danny Mac copy just without his creativity and skill set. Ali's are always different though, they're not hyped up a load, there's not poor comedy or cringe moments, its just a few minutes of super clean and watchable riding. So well done and thank you Ali and Mark.

Some of us were waiting for Ali C videos long before danny mac was gettin pimples :)  I think he’s put his time into being pretty daaaamn smooth  he always was.

Danny mac copies are international, very easy to spot. Just put them in an actual section.

Im just waiting for danny mac to ride a long wb pogo again :)

    Wil edit when watchdd...

There's something about modern comp riding that just puts me to sleep.  I find sections far less interesting and varied than they once were, and I find modern comp riders boring.

Or, I'm just old and being nostalgic?  I just think, If I were ten-years old today and watched a competition, or modern competitive riders today, I don't think i would pick up the sport; whereas, I can watch old-school riders and old-school comps and get pumped.

    Technology is slowly ruining humans..

no no one in the USA looks at modern comp riding with adoration- it is not relatable to what they know as riding a bike. It makes no sense and looks just like unicycling.  Everyone cringes at unicycling...

At the same time trials turned into street riding, very appealing- more so than comp bikes of the 2000s.

The filter of nostalgia is a strong one as well...

It is ridiculous the heights modern comp riders achieve- imo unnecessarily dangerous... I prefer a loose rocky biu course myself...

  6. Anyone riding a heavier old bike caint b compared to today’s technological carbon pogo sticks.. It’s like comparing potatoes to steak. Nutrient dense power food to carb bomb.   Apples to pineapples.

Also/ Damon wins every time.  still have the intro of dw7 in my brain ...

  7. We’ve just been waiting for you to post!

welcome back, proper tgs monster you got there, I assume used? Anything feel funky when riding- wheels\bb? Chinese carbon bar?

trialtech stuff in my experience is all very strong , properly priced and light... huge fan of their parts for stem/bar/crank\bb = never worry about breaking.

If the wheels are lightweight , you may want to build some beefy ones up.. I’d just ride the whole bike, with a new chain, and replace what breaks as it goes.. :)

  8. What is this... A FRAME FOR ANTS!?!?

edit: if the fork was a bit thicker, I would yearn to awkwardly put my foot on the front tire and spin the back end FOOTJAMMER HEAVEN STTREEET STYLE then look around to see if anyone hashtagged me into #fallow4fallow fame.

I started riding trials at 35 and now I'm 44. I still have a long list of trials wishes, but I'm beginning to realize that at some point the highs will get no higher. At 39, I rode trials with Hans Rey who was 48 at the time and it was very interesting to see what I potentially had to look forward to. For all the over 40 folks on here, how's it going? What are your tips for making the most out of riding over the hill? It seems like the greatest hindrance to riding at this age is juggling family, work and life and the physical aspect is not the most limiting factor yet.

Before I was 40, I had older riders tell me that after 40, I would not be able to ride 2 days in a row any longer. That's not 100% true, but I definitely understand what they meant. In a good week I can get 7 rides of at least 30 minutes plus; the weather's never really a factor here in Los Angeles. If I get one of those magical weekends when I can go for a 3+ hour ride both days, I am absolutely dead Sunday night and usually for a day or 2 after. I take multivitamins and I'm not opposed to Red Bull when I feel it'll help. Drinking enough water is a fairly constant problem. Injuries, often even small ones, will keep me from riding for weeks sometimes and then that in turn makes me ride more cautiously further slowing my progress.

I've recently gotten a heart rate monitor to see where I stand and the highest rate I've recorded over the last 3 weeks is 176 beats per minute. Over a typical hour long ride I average in the low 130s. Riding pure trials raises the average versus riding street, but I'm much more comfortable riding street. I keep my pure trials at work where I can ride over my hour lunch break on some lovely rocks nearby. The street trials takes over on the weekends at home. That's one trick for maximizing riding time.

You’re definitely one of the more energetic riders I’ve ridden with... Many people just sit there and talk, you go at it and are an inspiration...  I just cleaned the bike dungeon.:. maguras have to be bled... think im gonna break this 17 pound inpulse on the first ride... Got 3 years before I can join this thread, peace...

  10. Keep them coming, bike looks so good. I had a planet x jack flash leopard print, learned to manual for days on that...miss those summers in colorado. 30mm stem in a land of 165mm stickys...
