  1. Can you elaborate on it please?

    Thanks!

It's just a normal shotgun microphone, with the adapter cable which allowed the iPhone to read it as a microphone, not a pair of headphones while filming.

I'm guessing the same could be done for any phone. As with everything else in the rig. The big fisheye is clip on, so works with any phone!

  2. Funny, your ghetto rig possibly cost as much as a dslr.

With just the Fisheye lens, the mic, the phone holder & tripods it came in at about £35.

Other lenses were £12 with the phone case.

The handle and platform thing are a paint pad with the foam taken off which I found laying around.

    I'd love a DSLR with 4 lenses for >£50!

  3. Hi all.

I've recently build a proper ghetto iPhone filming rig and wanted to know what you all thought!

I've also bought some of those extra lenses you can get for iPhones. I can post test photos of comparisons if anyone's interested.

    Here are some pics;

    Here's a video of the footage the rig produces;

    Is there a freeroam mode?

    There is yeah:)

Online is a good way to make some easy money too, drive 8000 miles online when the online challenge is activated and you get $8,000,000!

The miles are counted by everyone in the session too, so doesn't actually take that long.

  5. Thanks I see where you are coming from but would I be able to run the profile for a while and then change to those pawls and springs,

Does anyone have an idea of how long a profile would last and how well it deals with rain

I ran profile's all the time in trials, never had one problem. I run a Primo Re-mix on my BMX which is essentially exactly the same internals, had it for over 2 years, still runs like new. Just keep it clean and you'll be perfectly fine.

  6. so in the end u sorted it without any help from anyone on here? :) was there any point in this thread haha? parden the pun xx

I'm guessing just to get other people's opinions. Future reference for anyone else too, saves them making a new topic and waiting for ideas.

  7. what are you trying to get your apprenticeship doing at BMW? engineering? also are you thinking oxford mini when you say BMW?

It's a service apprenticeship. I don't think so, my interview is at Sytner Nottingham, there's a BMW garage and showroom. Then the Mini show room is a separate building further down the road.

  8. I've worked at BMW's distribution centre at Thorne, my father in law works there as well. Basically you gotta be passionate about cars, and not a complete donut. And don't forget its a German company, so efficiency, blue sky thinking and all that proactive stuff will be what they want to hear. They are a good company to work for, and will look after you if you get the job done. By the way, BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke, or Bavarian motor works :)

I'm very passionate about cars, it's something I've always wanted to do, so hopefully that will come across!

I knew about the Bavarian Motor Works thing, I've also heard the story about the logo being a spinning propeller and the blue colour is Bavaria's national colour!

Thanks for the info, appreciate it!:)

  9. I have an interview at BMW for one of their apprenticeships and I'm trying to gain an idea of what questions they might ask so I can prepare.

I've had a Google search but not much comes up. Only the typical questions like, strengths and weaknesses, why you'd be good for this job, etc.

Then there's some like; what is BMW, why do you want to work for BMW, etc.

Can anyone shed some more light on what they might ask?

    All help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Alex.

  10. you got THAT lever but a plastic TPA?

I've never had any problems stripping TPA's if I'm honest!

Want to swap the ZOO! lever for a normal 4 finger one.

EDIT: After posting this and re-reading it, I have a sneaky suspicion that was sarcasm!;)

  11. Yeah, erm it was on my Trialtech Sport forks. Even with the pads sanded (which makes all TNNs worse imo) I wasn't getting much of a sound, not to mention a severe lack of bite and poor hold :S

Ah! I'm running mine on the rear. I seem to remember using ZOO! pads on a trialtech front rim was awful too. Maybe it's a bad batch?

  12. Thanks mate. Just checked, Comes fully built so that should be right. I didnt realise it was a 2010, i saw it somewhere advertised as a 2013.

Looking at the 2013 ones, i.e. the Pro, set up doesnt seem to be as good as the comp, and a heavier bike too. Have they gone dowhill?

The comp is higher up in the range of Onza bikes, that's why it'll be better spec'd and weight less.

  13. What frame is that? I want disk breaks on my next bike.

The vid wasnt anything unusual but still a good watch :)

If Dez's signature is correct it's an Ozonys V3. :)

It's nice to see someone else riding skateparks on a trials bike too!

  14. Appreciate your input but like I said, trials is dangerous as it is. It's far more likely I'll snap a chain before these bars.

Only 1 of my fingers rests on the extension, the rest is on the original bar, so not much extra leverage there.

If they snap, they snap. Parts do go eventually anyway, so it really makes no difference to me.
