  1. Wow you really are putting in the time. How I miss free time. Couple words.of advice which please don't take in a bitchy way.

1)Don't waste your time, if you have that much free time use it for something better or learn how to make a better system.

2)People will never use a system that convoluted, slow and boring. People online expect instant results and your process will never give them that. Let alone the fact I couldn't find where you explain to users how to do that and even if you were explaining it then it proves there's a flaw in your system.

I see what you're getting at, what I said above was at the start of this post but it's not on the website. I shall put it on now, It a pretty easy way of doing things in my opinion, the majority have a google/youtube account, and it's easy enough to transfer the spots over using google maps's import feature. But I don't want to have the actual map public for people to edit, as people do make mistakes as has already happened in this topic.

  2. I wouldn't do that, it'd look better for maybe one or two of you go down and speak to them rather than going as a big messy group. And it's more than just pestering them, you need to research the location, the price range your asking for any sort of government grants that might be eligible for it.

If only 2 lads show up for all the council know it could be just them who ride, no matter how many names are on a petition. 10 lads don't all have to go down and talk, but 10 could go down and 2 could do the speaking...but yeah, not going to be easy to get the council to do anything.

  3. If you want them to take you seriously you need to head down to the council offices/find out who it is you need to speak do and knock at their door a few times and meet him/her face to face, then keep nagging and check up on the situation every week or so. it's no good you saying " I don't know why they haven't contacted me for 6 months" , they don't want to contact you, you want them to spend their money on you guys, you need to contact them.

If someone asks you to spend your money by sending you an email what do you do ?...delete it...if someone sends you 20 letters, you throw them in the bin......if you have 10-15 lads all stood in front of you, that's when you listen.

getting the council to do anything is always a slow process, you need to stick with it, keep nagging. try get yourself into the committee meetings/groups and ask questions about the trials park every time.

It sounds pretty promising, but definitely stop relying on them to do any work for you what so ever.

  4. thanks everyone!

That was sweet! Would love to ride Truro again, pissed it down half way through the day when we went :(

Come back down again and tell everyone this time! haha i think i saw the back end of your limey going up some stairs at a train station on like the day before you left and realised it was you guys.

    New clip also added!

  5. Grinding rims is usual practise for trials. I recommend using a diamond cutting disc and apply gentle pressure, try not to go backwards over bits you've just ground as it kind of rubs off the grind.

There are heaps of brake pads out there, if they're set up well and on certain rims a lot can work brilliantly.

I'd recommend Coust pads my prefered pad (ones with 10mm of pad, you can buy from www.trials-addict.com and straight from heatsink bikes.) also heat-sink yellows can be pretty good. Rockman blues can work well. and finally TNN ADMs pads which have very good reviews

  6. Hi everyone ... Really sorry about all this.... I didn't mean to upset anyone.... least of all Glynn who is obviously a sound guy ....I didn't really think about it... I just trawled the internet for as many spots as I could possibly find including ridden.it and a couple of old maps that had dropped to the bottom of the forum, adding a few myself to create something anyone could use. I'm not claiming that any of the information is "mine" and I'm more than happy if anyone wants to copy the map as that's what it's all about and you're very welcome to do so.

  7. Oops sorry i made a boo boo, and changed the details at the side instead of adding the name of the spot to the map.

    My bad.

No Worries brad, all sorted! thanks for your contribution!

jumps up the page so you have to scroll down again.

This will be sorted out in the next couple of month, when my website host updates to HTML 5

  8. Sweet dude (Y)

Couple things, theres a styling issue on http://www.trials-ex...ding/4569639504 on firefox v16, when you scroll down, it jumps up the page so you have to scroll down again.

(and the massive gap at the bottom of the page on ie and firefox :P )

    You also selling stuff now?

Edit : the flickering is on all pages on ff :)

Hi Mart, thanks for that! seems to be a problem on every browser and I'm still working on how to get rid of that flicker as it's pretty annoying .

and yes I am, it's all set up and just waiting for orders :)

    cheers!

  9. Hi everyone

I've recently started a new website, to help people start off riding trials and learn all the skills they need.

I've added and updated a new "where to ride" page, please check it out.

    http://www.trials-ex...ride/4569678727 ...

I would also be grateful if you could help us out and add some spots you know of! It should be simple enough to do.

    Just follow this link, https://www.google.c...ff7b89dfe&msa=0

Log in to google then click "edit", start adding your spots. (I will update the main website map with these spots every week or so)

Please let me know if there's any problems with this.

Thanks to everyone who has added spots so far, the map has been updated with these additions.

  10. I rode mod for 2 years and mod seemed like "normal size" and stock seemed huge, then moved to stock for the last few months. When you get back on a mod it's hilarious, the wheels feel incredibly small , the whole bike does. it's good going from stock to mod because you then feel like you can throw the mod round more.

  11. Hi Guys just joined and looking for some ideas, I'm looking for a bike for my son, he is 15 and 6' tall he rides motorbike trials and is pretty good on a BMX too. He fancies a go at cycle trials but will probably be more street biased although it will no doubt get put in the van when we have the trials bikes out. years ago I did use a 20" Monty as a practise bike for trials but one the choice seems hug

    Hi,

He will be fine on any size of bike I'm sure. I know 6ft + people who ride 20" and under 5ft 8in ish people that ride 26"

Depends whether he wants to go down the inspired/Danny Macaskill route street/bmx riding or more competition "pure" trials street (jack Carthy etc.)

show him some videos and see what he thinks?

The inspired fourplay that has been offered to you is made for more BMX influenced riding.

If you can set up a bike well and maintain one I'm sure you'll be fine getting a used bike.

In my opinion the best thing he could do would be to go for a 20" bike because they're easier to learn on and you can pick up a relatively light, good spec one at your budget. He could then move on to 26" when he becomes more advanced.

Check out my website www.trials-expert.com It shows you what parts i recommend, how to maintain and rid your bike, where to ride etc.

check out this page for my opinions on buying first bikes http://www.trials-expert.com/#/buying-your-first-bike/4569639689

I hope I have been of some help,

    Liam
