i jump on the pedals to tighten it. you dont want it to tighten on when ou go to gap.if you are struggling to get the old one off i found the best way to do it is put the arm in the vice and using an air gun or impact gun buzz it off they are on very tight its hard to get them off with a nuckle bar air guns are the way forward

still good

the rockman 108.9 is actually a try all if you scrach the black paint off the lock ring you will see the logo. the ring is welded so you cant easily tighten it. i am currentley trying to get mine appart as it feels like there is gravel in it. if you have ever taken a freewheel apart befor i suggest you get the lock ring off the back. it is welded so will be hard (i carfully cracked the welds after scoring them) and have a look whats going on may be one spring thats damaged or something simple. remover the faulty bit and put it back together, you may loose some engagment but a 96.8 instead of a 108.9 you wont notice the loss
if you dont want to try this just buy a new one its not worth the risk mate and i cant ride properly when i have something like that in the back of my mind
DO NOT over tighten the lock ring it wil cause you problems the freewheel will be stiff and then the lock ring wont stop coming loose

looks nice enough the weight would put anyone off i think . if you want something like it with less weight buy a speed race fans looks to me like a more modern version of this

i have also found that most of the Echo/Zoo things i have do snapp or crack quite easiley. Though i have noticed that Onza things expecially the beginner series are worse for it. to be honest mate you could have a zoo and it could last you for ever and you could spend a fortune on a Koxx and that could snapp straight away is a gamble you cant be worried about the bike you ride or you will never really try to push yourself . One thing i have learnt about trials over the last couple of years is everything is desposable.
the longer bike doesnt make your gaps bigger i went from 1065 Bow to 1025 Curve and i can gap further and jump higher on the smaller frame despite me being 6"5
you will probabley find if you ride the onza for a few more months it will crack and that is when i'd buy a new one just keep the money to a side.

i would like to start entering comps again and dont know what im doing as there are so many clubs i really havent got a clue which one i should go in . i used to ride ymsa (i think) but that was 12 years ago.
basically i got back into trials 18 months ago and want to do a comp season. im from derby area (midlands) and whould like to stay as local as possible but still do every event in the season.
iv been asked if i want to do club trials or national trials by friends but to be honest i dont really know the dirrence i would like to do natonal as it sounds better thats about it.
anyone got and advise or weblinks to point me in the right direction
