  1. If thats the case wouldn it be practical to turn on the 'check post' feature before it gets posted.  The same as in the 'News' section.

Possibly, but then somebody's got to check all the posts, which means even more work. The system at the moment works fairly well, if everyone could nominate NM's in a thread in here it would create a big workload for the people who have to check through all the posts and validate people. Not to mention that people would just nominate all their mates anyway (I know I would :ermm: ) so it would be a bit biased.

  2. If I can pass my test by then, I'll 100% be there for sure.

Speaking of last years video...does anybody know where I can find it? It was a damn good video, but I've gone and misplaced it :-

EDIT: Got it now, cheers for your help :ermm:

    Good idea :ermm:

George even if you dont pass by then I will give you a lift, and if you do you can give me a lift :P lol

I am more then happy to help with preparations for a party/ BBQ etc..... so long as i can get accomodation with someone.

  3. When i first got into trials, i would never have even thought about getting a mod. For a start, do we realy need gears on a trials bike? Trials orginaly came from MTBing, thats the only reason stocks were used. If trials was created from a bmx oriented sport i think mods would have been the first trials bikes used, and stock wouldnt realy exsits.

Biketrials came from Mototrials, and the first biketrials bike was a Monty Mod.

I dont know who first had the idea of using a mtb for trials, probably just progressed from pulling wheelies and stuff.

I think Onza deserve a lot of credit for the popularity of Mod bikes, as they offer some pretty good value bikes, and most of the mod riders around are on one. Mods are easier to ride too, so they're more appealing to beginners.

  4. Shut up!

Not everyone has the same opinion as you!

My plaz on a clean rim work fine.

Some people don't tend to make brakes slip if your like me and only a slim jim...

I think you'll find as soon as its slightly wet he'll have the last laugh though.

I wouldn't have thought black pads on a clean rim would give good power consistantly, maybe when the rim is uber clean, but who wants to have to clean their rim all the time?

If you want decent power get decent pads, if you want decent power consistantly in all conditions you will need a grind.

  5. Teehee.

Anyway.  Anyone else think that pic looks really weird.  It's like an optical illusion - the right hand side bit of crank looks really far away and small.

(I wish I could say something about the middleburn returns procedure...)

Yeah, I think its because the bashguard end is sitting on the spider/chainring so its closer to the camera, making it appear bigger.

Yeah, theyre trials cranks, and Planet-X Zebdis are trials frames, but you'll never see them being warrantied

Quite a few people did get their Zebdi's replaced for free, including me. That was before they changed the warenty though.

  6. Tall people, Short People, Happy People, Grumpy people - but never black or white people.

    Sam

So its OK to describe people in terms of hight or mood, but not race?

I think its time everyone realised that people are different. Its not bad to describe someone as black so long as its not in an offensive way. You can say that we are all 'people', but the fact is we are all different types of people.

I think the main problem is that we recognise racism as racism. Stick with me on this for a second. In my opinion the moment we stop recognising black people as black, white people as white, Chinese people as Chinese... that is the point at which racism no longer exists.

Thats rubbish. The moment racism will no longer exist will be when no-one is descriminated against because of their race. Describing a person as black is not descriminating, its just describing them. Some people judge people by their race, and it is these people that are the problem, not the classification of the race of people.

  7. ahhhhh, i can't stop replying (sorry bongo)!

jimbo you're absolutely right, i was enforcing the laws of common sense which dont always prevail in the real world i suppose! but i never suggested birth control, i would never think such a thing! i just think of all the body bags with babies in that didn't deserve such pain and suffering!

Nah,Keep repling, this thread has been very entertaining, if not a tad bitchy :)

I agree the babies didnt deserve the pain and suffering, and I can see the sense in your argument. I just dont think its practical for people in that situation.

  8. there you go again! see jimbo and bongo. tell him off aswell! lol

yeah, cheers azeurs, nice debate, no hard feelings!

    officially closed!

I'm deeply shocked and appauled by Azureus's remarks. At the next possible oportunity I will spank him with a very large plank and call him some nasty names.

Officially closed ay? You dont have the pooooooooooooooooower :)

  9. ok,

read through my posts in this topic and for once read them carefully. you will notice that at no point did i suggest marching in and telling them not to have children or using birth control! i've basically said every time THE PARENT SHOULD REALISE THAT GIVING BIRTH TO A CHILD IS POINTLESS AND IS AS GOOD AS MURDER (COMMON SENSE REALLY)!

*1st quote, "why dont they start by helping themselves and stop shagging"

*2nd quote, "If they stop giving birth to children who will eventually end up on one of those adverts, crying and dying from starvation then perhaps they could feed a few more of those who are alive and starving now! thus keeping people alive thus helping themselves!"

*3rd quote, "How can they watch there own children die and there families children die then go and have a shag and give birth to another poor little b*****d just to watch him slowly die from malnutrition!"

as you can see from the three quotes i'm talking about them taking responsibility themselves and stopping the needless suffering and death of a child by not shagging!

i never said anything about marching in and telling them what to do via birth control or whatever!

it seems you're so eager to be correct that you're actually making things up so you can argue with me!lmao.

not too bright are you matey!

In a way you have a point, in that if they did all stop reproducing then the population would go down. But then what about the next generation? What happens when everyone has become too old to work and there is no-one left to take over? You could argue that there could be a birth-limit or something, but that would take people to enforce it etc.....

The purpose of being alive is to reproduce. To carry on your family genes or whatever. You cant just say people should volantarily not have sex anymore, because although its easily said, its not realistic in the real world. Look at the situation here, we have readily available contraception, everyone is educated about the dangers of unprotected sex. But yet there is still a high rate of teenage unwanted pregnancies and abortions. People find it hard to resist their body's sexual urges in this country, which is aparently civilised, think what it must be like in poorer countries. Perhaps you should also consider that not all these sexual encounters are going to to consentual either.

  10. i have more constructive arguments with my little brother dude.(£10 says you quote this and totally ignore the sentence above it as thats what you've done every time, the sentence above is the one you're supposed to quote and comment on not the cheeky remark at the end, if you did this then the debate would then become constructive)

Then why put the 'cheeky remark' in. If you want a reply to your question why not just put that and leave the cheekiness out. Maybe with out the immature comments in some of your posts this would have been more of a constructive debate?

  11. I wouldnt bother with the suspension forks, as they probably will mess with the geometry. Just get some beefier rigid forks. If I remember correctly the Giant forks that come with that frame are rather skinny curved pashley-copy things that wont really cope with harsh street / dirt riding.

  12. Then you have to compare how many comps Danny has ridden with how many Thomas has ridden.. I can guarentee that Danny has a bit more experience when it comes to competition riding....

Yeah i know. My point wasnt that Danny was better then TRA. Waynio was saying that Danny cried when he was losing, and he seemed to be basing that argument on the assumption that TRA had beaten him at Tech04. Which he didnt. I was just trying to use some evidence to back up my point.

  13. AGREE

and about danny butler,he shouldnt give a fellow member SH*T at a trials competition especially when the rider is from a foreign country!!!!!that sucks ass if you ask me!and for anyone who doesnt know he was giving TRA loads a welly but its cos TRA was/probably did beat him!so when he starts getting beat he starts crying!he sucks candy ass.

    Tech 04 Master:

    Danny Butler - 38

    Thomas Assan - 52

Perhaps you should try doing a little bit of research before you slag people off?

People seem to have this idea that because he does well at competitions Danny Butler is super serious all the time. He seems fairly laid back at YMSA rounds. Maybe if some members knew what they were talking about before they opened there mouths this place wouldnt have the uber bitchy reputation it does.

  14. He wasn't being a "willy".

He suggested a way to contact these guys, for himself. It's not anybody on here's responsibilty to sort it out for him.

Its a pretty good idea to get the guy's phone number before the goods are sent, that way there isnt the sudden panic after your goods dont turn up and you realise you cant call them (Y)

As George says its not anyone on here's responsibility to sort it out, he should have organised himself before sending the stuff. Threads like this are how people get bad reputations, as some members tend not to read the thread through. (Obviously there are those who deserve bad reps too)

  15. I can't understand the hype about craigs video.  Sure the moves are pretty damn big, but the video itself isnt great. The editing isnt exactly top notch, the only good bits are the flickeringy bit in time to the music for a bit.

The music choices were the same old linkin park and equally cheesy papa roach...... oh dear.  Out of all the music he coulda used, he broke the video with those tracks!

The Nick one however has some really diverse music, not my thing, but it suits the riding so well.  And have you ever seen some of his editing techniques used before in trials... for example the billboard thing at the start?  Takes it a notch higher than the rest, things like that.  + the riding is really smooth and flowy and neat!

The totaltrials one was damn good too but Nicks felt most complete.  If Nicks was sold on a VCD instead of free on the net, it would have felt suitable.

Exactly, the CLS vid was good, and the riding excellent, but it was too long, it just got really samey, I ended up stopping it halfway through. It needed variation more then anything else really. I still havnt got round to watching the other half whereas I have watched Nicks vid several times, its just more entertaining.
