  1. Hi Guys,

Just spent all day clearing sections with me boyz and Rab. We have five sections nearly ready to go. I was hoping to get two artificial sections in the car park to give us the seven. Three routes again. I will hopefully get down in the evenings to finish them off as I am on Holidays from the 18th to the 22nd.

  2. Hello,

Kevin again. The local kids have been asking for another comp, so its on. New outside piece of ground near Haddington. Logs, rocks, bankings and probably mud at this time of year. Good location in trees so pretty sheltered from weather. Seven sections hopefully with three routes again and run under BTF rules. 7th November is the probable date. (couple of small things to be sorted this week). Will confirm asap. Good turn out last time and I know we have several more riders coming. reply here or on biketrial@tiscali.co.uk. hope you can make it.

  3. In this life of moan and blame, I would like to put up a big thanks to Danny and Dave for spending time with my son Aaron at Port Seton yesterday while filming for his new movie. He couldnt wait to tell his old dad all about it and what they had got up to. So I dont know if they are on this site but thanks again it made his year.

  4. Hi Guys,

some photos on flikr under cask2011user name. Left it to Ross to transfer over here.

My lad Aaron met Danny Mckaskill yesterday at Port seton when he was filming for his new documentary. I would just like to say thanks as it made his day/year. He couldnt wait to tell me everything that happened! Thanks Danny and Dave for taking the time out to put a smile on my kids face!

  5. Hi Guys,

Well after a shakey start after, the farmer by misunderstanding had removed one section and some w***ker had moved all the indoor stuff we had a trial. The sun shone and we had a lot of smiles and fun I hope. I know that I had a great time with a good bunch of guys. Rab will always be welcome for his massive efforts on the sections including the ass grind and then totaling it on the same section in reverse next lap. (and just kept smiling) I know that I didnt see much of the other two classes but by all accounts it went well and they all had fun.

Ross again thanks for all the advise and help and the best comment of the day from your mum. He WILL go to the beach as he practices six days a week and never spends enough time with his girlfriend. (priorities in check dude) Hope you enjoyed the rocks at the beach, as the other guys were riding away at the harbour in North Berwick!!!!

Lewis thanks for teaching my son all the pressure points around his body to hurt his mates, brother and me! Hope you got home okay.

I will post photos when I figure out how to and have sorted through them ALL.

Thanks to all who helped and came some distance to ride and those who didnt you missed a good day. I will start up another post shortly to see what everybodys thoughts are on next year and a scottish champoinship. See you all again soon.

  6. Hi Rosses, Oh no there are two now. Phanatassie Farm, East Linton, East lothian. EH40 3DF. The post code might take you to the new farm which is only a couple of 100 m along the road. But you will have picked up my road signs by then. If you get to Phantassie roundabout then turn into East Linton and its on your rhs in the old farm buildings. Please all be there around nineish to sign on and have a look at the sections.

Remember a we dab of whiskey in the milk tonight Ross!

  7. Hi Little yoshi, got your text will give you a call to arrange pick up.

Ben we forgive you and I assume you live in scotland for a very good reason in that it is better in everyway, as long as you are North of Manchester originally then you are an adopted Scot anyway!! Still nothing from your kind anyway so you are all on your own.

Ross remember to have warm milk and a cookie to help you sleep as we dont want a grumpy Ross on Saturday do we?

    Kevin

  8. Hi Guys,

Ben, dont know you yet but I will be more polite than Ross as he says £5!! all going to Phantassie for there new huge INDOOR skate/bmx park that we can use next year. This is just for fun to gauge interest and rider abilities and to get new young riders started in comp. I said if it went well I will start up a club for next year that hopefully with the help of local guys in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Fort william and Inverness and anywhere else we can start a scottish champoinship. Kevin Dignan when I talked to him still had all the stuff from the club up there that he said I could take over as an option. I spoke with my companies web designer yesterday to see if he would do a page for the club at a discount if we need it but we can use this and the other trials site for now. I want Sat to be fun and relaxed and not a full blown do or die comp (we can have that next year). I want feedback and comments from the day as long as they are constructive, good or bad. You will just need to sign on at the big red van and show me your money.

Re tactical dabing, In my opinion it should be allowed as for one point, it allows sections to be hard and then allows the lesser ability riders to get through a section that would in most cases then give them a five. Having fives all day isnt fun ( Iknow I ride motorbike trials!!) It then makes them try to improve so they dont make that tactical dab next lap. Dont hijack this for tactical dabs start up another fro it.

SEE YOU ALL BRIGHT AND EARLY SAT

    KEVIN

To all the southern riders. It is just over an hour from Newcastle to the trial. It is advertised on the Bike trial website. NO takers so far, feel a bit of Scottish English rivalry mentioned to get things going. Even have two Geordie observers to even things up!

  9. Hi Guys,

spent sometime on it last night, marked out rest of sections in barn bar one. yellow road painted the outdoor sections. I have one novice route to finish. Ross re BMX sections I have added a new bit to one of the elite sections so you have to do a 360 backflip to vert lookdown Mcflurry superman but if you air dab on the way round I am afraid it counts as a dab. (just joking!!) Can anyone observe bring an observer. I hopefully have a few but more offers the better.

    Kevin

  10. Hi Guys,

Had a good day on Saturday setting out. My thanks to Ross and Rab for there help and advice with the sections. We have nine in total, six indoors and three outdoors. I would like to get first man/girl away by ten so if you can all be down before for sign/scrutineering it would be great. Remember helmets and/or parents if you are under 18.

  11. Any advance on the lift?

    Hi Yoshi,

If you can get yourself down to Longniddry station at a early time around 8am ish then I can pick you up. I dont have the time to come into Edinburgh on the Saturday. I am sure we can get someone to give you a lift back later on or if not I will when we are tidyed up.

  12. Does he want the padded tattie box so there are no splinters put in a secluded area of the barn? Seem to be getting some interest from the local kids as well now the schools are back. would you good guys be happy doing a bit of advising during or after the sections. Just asking and I want you guys to enjoy the day. They all have there own trials bikes.

  13. Hi Guys,

I was at Phantassie on Tuesday to get something started section wise. it looks like we will have six sections indoors 3 using the bmx ramps and some bits. 1 on the band stage, 1 with tattie boxes and one with some big logs. Will hopefully have another 4 outside with more BIG logs. I intend to have an easy route (EASY as some new local kids will be coming) an intermediate route for the not so shures with ability!!!! and a BIG route with those of you with lots of ability but with FUN intended. Bring some food as there is a big gas BBQ we can use after the sections. You can play on after the comp as well including the bmx ramps.

  14. Hi Guys It has generated some interest and with you guys and some local kids it will be a goer. BUT due to the low numbers so far and level of skills (not you guys) what about a fun comp event rather than a full blown comp. That way we all have some fun and I learn what level the sections need to be at. I will set out several sections the weekend before so there will be sections. I had set the entry fee at a fiver anyway and all that is going to Phantassie guys for there new permenant fixture for next year which will have everything including sections/bmx/skatepark and a foam pit. I have a em address set up for the club of biketrial@tiscali.co.uk. Please em me conformation you will be coming and I will em you back all the details. If any one local wants a play the sunday before and help with the sections then it would be appreciated and im sure you can have aplay as well. I am on hols from the 6th to the 17th so no replies then.

  15. Hi Guys,

After discussions with Barbara at the British round at Fort Bill it was decided to try and restart some comps in Scotland. I am based in Haddington near Edinburgh and have provisionaly organised a trial at Phantassie at Phantassie Farm at East Linton. This is a temp indoor BMX/skateboard park but with some interesting terrain outside. (www.uprisingeastlothian.com) The date will be 4th Sept at 10am. It will be my first attempt at it, although I have years of organising and riding motorbike trials. It will be fun and we will look to see what we need to organise in the future if there is enough interest. ONLY IF! It will all be artificial sections and all indoor if its raining with a big sound system!! I have a couple of other venues including the dedicated trials park over in Glasgow that is in build at the moment. Its up to you guys to show an interest so please pm me if interested.

    Kevin
