  2. If I'm honest I have no idea. It's the standard front ring and cranks
  3. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=11034 So this hub then, what else would i require, or would this run straight off my current front sprocket? I read it's 48 engagements, is that good bad?
  4. I currently ride a phase 1.2 and i am looking to convert it to run single speed. I want to reaplce the rim and hub as well, and do it all at once. What are the recommended hubs if i want to run single speed? Also what else do i require? If someone could advice a list of products i need, then I can get ordering. Many Thanks Rich
  5. without sounding really stupid.. pre load, is that when you crouch/squat/bend down, before jumping/hopping moving up?
  6. okay doke, any suggestions how to make things better/easier? I can sometimes pedal kick further but not very consistant. I guess it's just keep at it and going!!
  7. Only had the bike with new pads for a few days now, Am I starting things correctly and just build on this? I don't want to end up with bad habbits that will take ages to remove, id rather try and prevent them now. Any feedback would be great. Rich http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt2-CgO5kJ8
  8. My bike came with Hs33's front and rear and i wasn't impressed at all. (due to the HS33's standard black pads). I bought myself some heatsink Yellow pads for the rear, and what a transformation! I have had discs on my older bikes, and they have great feel and modulation. So i would tend to agree with the majority here. Disc front and HS33's with new pads for the back!
  9. This is what I have done, and re aligned the wheel, and all runs pretty smooth now. Do these pads have a bedding in period? If so roughly how long? I notice they squeak really loud when applied slowly, or half on? I guess this is normal? Last of all, other than the tricks and stunts DVD's are their any other DVD's worth watching? I'm currently trying to master mini manuals (I'm feeling limited on the height of things I can hop onto because of being unable to raise the front high enough), having always ridden a bike with suspension, so a slightly higher stem and bar I found it far easier to raise the front before.
  10. Okay I will give that a go. I have tried pulling the brakes away from the rim as best I can but it's tricky on our own. I haddent thought about the wheel, I will undo the quick release and re do it
  11. I don't know if it's worth me mentioning, the standard hs33 pads didn't rub
  12. I have received my yellow pads. Went to fit them, I can't stop one side rubbing on one side of the rim though. The rim must be very very slightly un true. I have wound the hs33 red part right over to -. But still rubs. Is this normal with brand new pads? Will riding around for abit wear the pad down enough to stop this happening?
  13. I guess it's no doubt better to go straight to single speed hub. How come it requires a chain tensioner? Can the chain not just be made shorter or buy a shorter chain?
  14. Thanks for the info. I do remember the tricks and stunts DVD I atched it a long time ago, i think i will buy it now then and have a watch, as i can't find anywhere online to watch it. So with trials I guess you don't need a great selection of gears then? I have been trying to see whic gear i prefer working in at the moment. If i chose to go fr a single speed conversion what would i need?
