  1. dont get formulas, theyre crap. Im also thinking about buying a new disc brake and my choice is between hope tech trial (170eur) hayes prime (160eur) or hayes stroker (70eur). But im not sure... Im not getting shimano saint cuz theyre an overkill for trials and to expansive (theyre meant for downhill i suppose?)I had a friend telling me he destroyed the "jaws" (however its called in english) of formula r1. Also most people tell me to stay away from formula and magura, and avid also, since a mechanic told me there are a lot of problems with avids. Ill probably go with tech trial at the end but im not sure... Right now i have magura louise, i had magura julie too and hayes nine. To be honest i dont really see any difference except for the feel of the lever pull. But none of these brakes have anything you can adjust at all, no lever reach or bite point control. Well, hydraulics are hydraulics. The price wobbles when it comes to adjustment and lightweight and new innovations like the Brake point one or something, 340$ for it and if you ask me its not worth it. Its like buying a t-shirt. You can buy a t-shirt for 1$ or for 100$ but ofcorse the one for 100$ isnt going to be 100 times better then the one for just 1$ (as the price suggests) youll get the best for about say 30$. Everything above that and youre just paying for the brand (to have it say D&G on it and stuff). What im trying to say is dont think theres so much difference between them, its all about these "extra fines" that they have. GL though. Oh and mechanic brakes are another storry, but IMO not so powerfull, because the whole point of hydraulics is to multiply the pull force. And with mech brakes you can feel the cable expand lol. Well its just my 2 cents
  2. 105 even though im never going to ride it
  3. I have them, you mean LITE right? I dont know about light, I have try all lite but anyways, after 6months theyre pretty bald, but the grip is still amazing in my opinion. Im a begginer though so I cant compare them to anything really, just try them, worked wonders for me Im learning pedal-ups now(cant get more height) and I cant jump to the side while doing sidehops so I just do a static bunnyhop but oh well... Also i was riding on concrete so it eats the tires, but the grip on edges is pretty cool compared to some kenda I had... You guys are REALLY lucky to be living in England, here in Slovenia, in every bike shop I go, they look at the bike like its the lord almighty and go like: "WOOOOW and whats with these holes in the tires? So that you can pinch them in emergencies?" hah its so hard to learn something alone, but Im getting somewhere, I hope
  4. Hmmm... Well, maybe uTorrent? Youtube? probably someone is recording it Just googled a bit, heres his site http://kennybelaeysbigtime.com/ and heres a youtube video of one of his episodes good luck, Alex

  8. ok thank you very much, ill send it back
  9. (look at the title) Hello, so i just got a new hope 2 pro rear hub on my yaabaa 799 frame and when i do pedal kicks or just put to much pressure on the rear wheel (when landing the kicks for example) it emits some strange sounds like when a brake pad slips, i might do a video if you cant help. Any ideas what it might be? Poorly set hub? Oh and also the wheel vibrates ALOT if i just get off the bike, grab the bars and just hop the bike on the rear wheel. And it didnt do that on the last try-all hub, im sure of it. Any help would be appriciated, thank you very much. Alex
  10. Heres my opinion, although i am a begginer at trial biking i can say something through simple physics. Well, i am currently using magura julies on both back and front and theyre awsome except for the lack in modulation, i would really like some bite point control but whatever. The thing is hydraulics simply multiplies your "pulling force" and is therefore just more effective in terms of force then cable, its just pure physics you know, hydraulics just have bigger force, as simple as that ;D so whatever you want, maybe you should try dual disk something if you like silence, i dent regret it. Just my opinion and im a begginer so take this is mind hehe... Good luck Edit: oh and i also had try-all mechanic brakes, but cables just dont generate enough power so i got julies. I never tried bb7 or anything like that though so i cant comment about it.
  11. haha, it also happened to me a few days ago, but they got soaked in mineral oil. Anyway, there is nothing you can do about it to get the the SAME power as used to be but you can kind of "repair" them till you buy new ones, really buying new ones is the only option, you destroyed them, thats a fact. Well heres what i did : check this vid... the whole thing about it is just putting the pads on an alu foil and put the thing on you cooker, then when you see them get greesy, wipe it off but beware its VERY hot. Then i put them in 90% ethanol ( the alcohol you get in drug stores) and let them sit there for a while. Then i sanded them with that thing girls use for manicuring nails and they were really fine till i bought new ones. Im a newbie with all this bike things but it worked for me anyways ;D
  12. I have try-all disks and calipers, everything else too hehe. Hmmmm.. I didnt know people use dual disks on trials really, in my country there are like 5 people riding i guess so i cant see anyone with a trial bike, but on the web i mostly see guys with disk front and rim brake on the back. Well, ill just upgrade then, ty for the response and good luck.
  13. Hello, I have a bike called yaabaa 1299 or whatever, it says 799 on the frame though. So anyway it came with mechanic disk brakes, which just dont grab enaugh for me and im still a begginer. I do have a Fuji tahoe-pro with hydro disks, shimano, i dont remember which model because i dont have the bike at my location right now, but i would like to put the brakes on my yaabaa. Because i didnt see anyone with a hydro disk on any trial bike, im wondering if there are any problems with it? Do the air bubbles go somewhere when you jump or something? Ty for your response.
  14. Hi, im new to this trial stuff, actually the whole bike stuff, im 14 ridding a yaabaa 1299 26" and i cant really do anything now just a few rocks (front/rear endo), small (really small) bunny hops and thats about it. I cant really trackstand since im only riding for a month and ive hardly ridden a bike before, i hope ill learn a bit interests: > trial biking (ofcourse) > skiing (especially powder, not so much in jump/park riding cuz of the people i know that are incapacitated cuz of it) > volleyball > i play soccer alot with friends, just for fun > windsurfing (in Croatia, wave style) > hanging out with friends (no, i dont do drugs) nuff said...
