  1. A super bit of information, thankyou my good man. I have an interest in this at the minute because I fractured my ankle a while back and got the cast off a few weeks ago. My doc told me I won't need any physio and can build the leg up by myself. Have you any advice on exercises and movements I can do other than swimming and walking? And what's the best plan of attack once I can get back on my trialbike? Thanks again chief.

  2. Give some thought to how you shift your weight on the bike when doing certain moves. Experimenting with this has helped me go higher and further while keeping things smooth. Also letting a bit too much air out of your tyres forces you to be easy on them otherwise its punctures aplenty!

  3. Try and hunt down some original cannondale fatty R forks. They are quite old by today's standards but they still tick all the right boxes for me and they look gorgeous. Twenty inch trials bikes are a bit easier to throw around and to learn new moves on but I think a guy of your size should stick with what you've already got. If you can learn trials on a mountainbike you can pretty much ride anything.

  4. I would say practising at the amount you said it may take between 3 and 6 months to get the basics dialled. But as im sure others have mentioned it depends a lot on whether you're going to ride stock or mod, street or natural and how driven / enthusiastic you are to learn.

  5. Hi Neil, I like your idea about the olympics. It's a different kind of tool to use in terms of exposing the sport to a large audience. And there's various ways it can be done too. I've never given it much thought but it's an exciting opportunity and won't come around too often. And as for trial's parks, you can never have to many of them in my opinion. But how likely will it be to find backing from council's?

  6. I agree that mod suits smaller riders better, im vertically challenged myself and ride both mod and stock. I've got a real soft spot for stock trials because thats what I started out on and I like the extra challenge compared to mod. But if I started out on a 20" bike I'd probably stuck with it because those things can be real weapons in the right hands.

  7. Fit like min?

Im Aaron Maciver, come from Aberdeen and im 25 years young. I ride a stock GU Typhoon and a mod Koxx XTP. Been doing biketrials for seven years now and competing for 3. I just took part in a scottish comp the other day and placed well. Had loads of fun with like minded lad's. I've been putting off signing up to the forum for ages so thought i'd get it outta the way. peace and happy trials!
